   #1. This week's number one is an international power forward Nicolo Melli (205-91, currently plays in Euroleague). Melli led his German team Brose Baskets to a victory over the eighth-ranked Anadolu Efes (13-12) 87-68 in the Euroleague last Friday. He was MVP of the game. Melli recorded 16 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Brose Baskets Bamberg (9-16) is placed 12th in the Euroleague. It was his team's first victory after three consecutive loses. Melli has relatively good stats this season: 12.2ppg, 7.6rpg, 2.4apg, 2FGP: 55.5%(81-146), 3FGP: 45.8%(33-72) and FT: 72.9%. He is currently a member of the Italian senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to an international forward Luigi Datome (203-87, currently plays in Euroleague). Datome could not help Fenerbahce (16-9) in their last game on Thursday. Despite his good performance Fenerbahce was defeated 79-74 at home by the lower-ranked Baskonia (#7). Datome was the second best scorer with 10 points. This season Datome averages: 9.5ppg, 4.0rpg, 1.1apg, 2FGP: 41.7%, 3FGP: 46.9%(38-81) and FT: 97.1%(34-35). He is in the roster of the Italian senior national team.

   #3. The Italian player who performed third best last week abroad was an international small forward Danilo Gallinari (208-88, currently plays in NBA). Gallinari contributed to an easy victory against the Boston Celtics (43-25) crushing them 119-99 in the NBA last Friday. He scored 20 points and grabbed 5 rebounds (went 5 for 5 at the free throw line) in 34 minutes. The Denver Nuggets have 32-35 record this season. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. It's Gallinari's sixth year with the team. Gallinari has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages: 17.7ppg, 4.9rpg, 2.1apg, 2FGP: 48.6%, 3FGP: 39.1% and FT: 89.6% in 54 games he played so far. Gallinari is also a member of the Italian senior national team.

Guard Marco Belinelli (196-86, currently plays in NBA) was the major contributor in a Charlotte Hornets' victory against the Orlando Magic (24-44) crushing them 121-81 in the NBA on Friday night. He scored 18 points and added 3 assists in 22 minutes. The Charlotte Hornets have 30-38 record this season. This year Belinelli has relatively solid stats: 10.3ppg, 2.4rpg and 2.0apg in 63 games. He is also Italian national team player.

U20 international guard Giovanni De Nicolao (190-96, currently plays college basketball in the States) was not able to help the UTSA in their game against the Middle Tennessee State University (17-1) in the NCAA, despite his good performance last Thursday. He scored 10 points and added 7 assists in 30 minutes. But the UTSA was badly defeated 86-70 on their home court in San Antonio by the Middle Tennessee State University. The Regular Season already ended in the NCAA. This year De Nicolao's overall stats are: 8.2ppg, 2.6rpg, 3.3apg and 1.7spg in 33 games. He plays currently for the Italian U20 national team.

Forward Nicola Akele (203-95, currently studies in the States) managed to help Rhode Island University to win against the Davidson College (8-10) crushing them 84-60 in the NCAA on Saturday night. Akele scored 5 points, grabbed 4 rebounds and dished 4 assists. The Rhode Island University has a solid 13-5 conference record this season. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. They will play only one more game in the NCAA Regular Season. And that game will be critical. Akele's total stats this season are: 3.1ppg and 2.5rpg. He is a former U20 international player as he played for the Italian team two years ago.

U18 international forward Scott Ulaneo (208-98, is currently at the American university) was not able to secure a victory for the Seattle (5-9) in their game against the Utah Valley University (6-8) in the NCAA. Ulaneo cannot count Thursday's game as one of the best ones. He scored only 2 points. The Seattle was defeated 65-53 on their home court in Seattle by the Utah Valley University. The Regular Season already ended in the NCAA. Ulaneo's total stats this season are: 4.3ppg and 3.2rpg. He is also Italian U18 national team player.

   #8. Guard Mattia Da Campo (196-97, currently plays college basketball in the States) is a teammate of previously mentioned Scott Ulaneo and both played together in the last NCAA game. Da Campo couldn't help the Seattle (5-9) in their game against the Utah Valley University (6-8). He cannot count Thursday's game as one of the best ones. Da Campo scored only 2 points in 5 minutes on the court. The Seattle lost 53-65 on their home court in Seattle to the Utah Valley University. This year Da Campo's total stats are: 1.5ppg and 1.1rpg in 16 games. He plays currently for the Italian U20 national team.

U20 international guard Federico Mussini (188-96, currently plays college basketball in the States) couldn't help the St.John's (7-11) in their game against the Villanova University (16-3) in the NCAA. Mussini scored 6 points. The St.John's was crushed 108-67 on their home court in Jamaica by the University. The Regular Season already ended in the NCAA. Mussini has averaged so far 8.2ppg and 1.7rpg. He is also in the roster of the Italian U20 national team.

Alibegovic couldn't help the St.John's (7-11) in their game against the Villanova University (16-3). He scored 9 points in only 13 minutes. But the St.John's was crushed 108-67 on their home court in Jamaica by the University. Alibegovic has averaged so far 2.1ppg and 1.7rpg in 26 games. He is a former U20 international player as three years ago he still played for the Italian national team.

Experienced Guilherme Giovannoni (203-PF-80, currently plays in Brazil) led Brasilia to a victory over the eighth-ranked Campo Mourao (13-12) 90-80 in the Brazilian NBB in Thursday night's game. He was MVP of the game. Giovannoni recorded 28 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 5 assists in 37 minutes. Uniceub/BRB/Brasilia (17-7) is placed second in the NBB. There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. It's Giovannoni's eighth season with the team. He has individually a very good year with high stats. Giovannoni averages: 15.3ppg, 7.9rpg and 3.1apg in 23 games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Italian and Brazilian.

   #2. Fulvio de Assis (188-PG-81, currently plays in Brazil) is a teammate of previously mentioned Guilherme Giovannoni. But that was another game of his team in Brazilian NBB which we would like to mention. de Assis contributed to Brasilia's victory against the 12th-ranked Minas (8-16) 74-62. He recorded 8 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists in 32 minutes. Uniceub/BRB/Brasilia (17-7) is placed second in the NBB. This year de Assis has relatively solid stats: 11.2ppg, 3.4rpg and 7.2apg in 23 games. He is another player who holds two passports: Italian and Brazilian.

   #3. Luis Felipe Gruber (206-SF-85, currently plays in Brazil) could not help SKY/Basquete (10-14) in their last game on Tuesday. Despite his very good performance SKY/Basquete was defeated 82-68 on the road by the higher-ranked Universo/Vitoria (#6). Gruber was the top scorer with 23 points. He also added 4 rebounds. There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. It's Gruber's first season with the team. This year Gruber has relatively solid stats: 10.2ppg, 4.1rpg and 1.5apg. Similarly like de Assis and Giovannoni above he has both Italian and Brazilian nationalities.

   #4. Jayson Granger (189-G-89, currently plays in Turkey) contributed to an easy victory against the 14th-ranked Demir IBB (6-15) crushing them 79-52 in the Turkish BSL in Monday night's game. He scored 7 points and added 4 assists in 18 minutes. Anadolu Efes Istanbul (19-2) is placed second in the BSL. It was his team's eighth consecutive victory in a row. This year Granger's overall stats are: 8.1ppg, 2.6rpg, 5.8apg and 1.4spg in 18 games. He also holds two passports: Uruguayan and Italian. Worth to mention Granger played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball.

   #5. Angelo Caloiaro (205-F-89, agency: Pensack Sports, college: USF, currently plays in Turkey) faced previously mentioned Jayson Granger in the Turkish BSL last game. Caloiaro was not able to help Demir IBB (6-15) in their last game on Monday. Despite his good performance Demir IBB was crushed 79-52 at home by the second-ranked Anadolu Efes. Caloiaro was the top scorer with 14 points. He also added 4 rebounds. This season Caloiaro has relatively solid stats: 11.5ppg, 7.2rpg, 1.6apg and 1.2spg. He is a naturalized American. Strangely Caloiaro has never played in Italy.

   #6. Mauricio Aguiar (199-F-83, agency: Pro Sports, currently plays in Uruguay) contributed to a 1-point Defensor's victory against the second-ranked Atletico Welcome 77-76 in a derby game in the Uruguayan LUB in Friday night's game. Aguiar scored 13 points and added 4 passes. This season Aguiar has very high stats. He averages: 17.0ppg, 2.9rpg and 2.6apg. Aguiar has dual citizenship: Italian and Uruguayan.

   #7. Mike DiNunno (180-PG-90, agency: Interperformances, college: E.Kentucky, currently plays in United Kingdom) was the main contributor in a Cheshire Phoenix's surprising victory against the fourth-ranked Sheffield Sharks 100-83 in the British BBL last Sunday. He was the best player in that game. DiNunno recorded 29 points (!!!), 9 assists and 5 steals in 38 minutes. DiNunno has very impressive stats this year: 21.8ppg, 3.0rpg, 5.2apg and 3.2spg in five games. He is a naturalized American.

   #8. Bozhidar Avramov (196-G-90, also represented by Interperformances, currently plays in Bulgaria) contributed to an easy victory against the seventh-ranked Cherno More crushing them 107-60 in the Bulgarian NBL on Saturday night. Avramov scored 15 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Avramov's overall stats this season are: 8.8ppg, 3.5rpg, 2.3apg and 1.5spg.

   #9. Marc Trasolini (206-F/C-90, college: Santa Clara, currently plays in France) was the major contributor in a 3-point Sluc Nancy's victory against the closely-ranked Cholet Basket 85-82 in the French ProA in Saturday night's game. He recorded 18 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 31 minutes. Trasolini has reliable stats this year: 12.9ppg, 6.4rpg, 1.1apg and 1.2spg in 22 games. He has dual citizenship: Canadian and Italian. Despite Trasolini's Italian passport, he previously played for the Canadian U19 national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Italian team.

   #10. Gints Antrops (201-F-82, another player represented by Interperformances, currently plays in VTB United League) was not able to secure a victory for VEF Riga in their game against CSKA in the VTB United League. Antrops scored 7 points. It was his first game for VEF Riga this season. His team was badly defeated by 16 points 99-83. Antrops holds both Italian and Latvian passports.

Serie B newcomer Costa d'Orlando landed 22-year old center Enrico Di Coste (218-116kg-95, college: Northwood) from Balletti Park Hotel Viterbo.
