Well, the Galil lost indeed, but they can be happy for the fact that it wasn't a blow-out, and that in a lot of stages in the game, the Galil players managed to fight fair and square with one of the strongest teams in the Kurac Cup. Galil played without Lior Ardity was is injured, and looked tottally out of the game in the first half, when the Italians opened a double digits lead, that reached 18 points. But in the second half, Galil played much better and got back in the game, especially thanks to their two great foreign players, Lamunt Jones who scored 27 points and added 5 assists, and the ever-stable Jamie Arnold, who had 22 points. Another thing that helped Galil was great defense played by the young point gaurd Shmulik Brener, who managed to limit Rome's star, Henry Williams, to only 7 points. The Galil lost eventually however, as they just couldn't stop Warren Kidd in the paint, and Kidd finished with 15 points and 20(!) rebounds.

After the recent losses in the league, Galil got an important win in the Kurac cup. The most encouraging thing Galil can come out with from this game is the way Lior Arditiy and Yoav Safar played. Those two were the two important players Galil brought in the off-season, and so far they didn't produce. But last night they were both great, Ardity with 20 points and Safar with 21. Galil opened strong and the visitng Bertisleva ran after them during the entire game. They got as close as 70-65, but Galil tightened the defense up and got away with the easy win.

Galil was missing Lior Ariditi and Jamie Arnold. Coach Erez Edelstein let the young players play (Ido Kozikaro played 36 min, Avishay Gordon 27, Brener 17, Daiagy 15 and Ohanon 12 min.). The outcome was 19 TO (Kozikaro 6), but on the other hand, 17 assists.  Bratislava was no good either, making 19 turnovers as well, and only 11/31 from 3 points range.  The MVP was, as usual, L.Jones with 24 pts in great percentages: 2: 5-5, 3: 2-3, FT: 8-10.
