Christopher Garnett is a newcomer at Kulliyeh, ex Peja - Feb 14, 2013

    Boy's Articles

Kulliyeh Amman (Premier League) strengthened their roster with addition of 33-year old American center Christopher Garnett (211-113kg-80, college: Indiana SE). He replaced Nathaniel Roche, who was previously tested. He played last month at Peja in Kosovan SuperLeague. Garnett ended the last season at Thailand Slammers in Thailand league. In 7 ASEAN League games last year he recorded very impressive stats: 16.7ppg, 5.4rpg and 2.0apg. But the most of that year he spent at Tochigi Brex (JBL) in Japanese league. In 17 games he averaged 3.5ppg and 3.5rpg.
Among other achievements Garnetts team was regular season runner-up in Qatar League in 2011. He received also All-ASEAN League Honorable Mention award in 2011.
Garnett is a very experienced player. He has played also professionally in Bahrain (Al Manama and Nuwaidrat), Bulgaria, Chile, Dominican Rep., Korea (SK Knights and Sonic Boom KT), Romania, Syria (Al Jaish), Turkey (TED Istanbul), Qatar (Al Sadd) and Brunei (Barracudas).
Garnett attended Indiana University Southeast until 2004 and it will be his ninth season in pro basketball.
The scouts decsribe him following way: An extremely agile and athletic BIG MAN who has great size, impressive post moves, great ball-handling as well as good defensive skills, range on his jump shot (out to the NBA 3 pointer), and dominates in the post. He excels in "facing up" to the basket and utilizes his passing ability in a variety of ways. He has great hands, a tremendous work ethic (spends summers training with NBA trainers) excellent footwork, and runs the floor extremely well for a big man. He is one of the BEST PASSERS FOR HIS SIZE AND POSITION IN BASKETBALL RIGHT NOW. His high basketball IQ and tremendous work ethic make him a player that changes opponents strategy night in and night out. After averaging 20 ppg and 10+ rebounds per game consistently, he is arguably one of the Best BIG MEN IN THE ASIAN ZONE Possessing four professional championships, his on court savvy demeanor makes him "a coach on the floor" as well as a foundation in the middle. A TREMENDOUS ASSET TO ANY TEAM THAT SIGNS HIM.
