    SuperLeague Round 19: Kerasan edge Vellaznimi by one point - Feb 26, 2017

    The most exciting game of round 19 in the SuperLeague took place in Prishtina. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 7th ranked Vellaznimi (2-17) to eighth ranked Kerasan (1-18) 88-87 on Saturday evening. The hosts trailed by 2 points after three quarters before their 20-17 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Kerasan forced 19 Vellaznimi turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Rinor Ahmeti (188-96) fired 23 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Ermir Gashi (200-97) chipped in 16 points and 4 steals. Kerasan's coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Beqe Kovaqi (196-94) produced a double-double by scoring 23 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for lost side. Kerasan maintains eighth place with 1-18 record. It was Vellaznimi's seventh loss in a row. They keep the seventh position with 17 games lost. Kerasan are looking forward to face higher ranked Xhebrailat (#5) in Therande in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Vellaznimi will play on the road against Peja in Peje and is hoping to win this game.
    An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Prizren. Second ranked Bashkimi faced 4th placed Trepca. Host Bashkimi (14-3) defeated guests from Mitrovice (12-7) 79-70. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Trepca. The game was dominated by American players. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Justin Black (188-92, college: Morgan St., agency: Octagon Europe) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 8 assists. Kayel Locke contributed with 17 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Guard Jeremy Wise (191-86, college: S.Mississippi) answered with 27 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for Trepca. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Bashkimi have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain second place with 14-3 record behind leader Sigal Prishtina. Trepca at the other side keeps the fourth position with seven games lost. Bashkimi will play against Rahoveci (#6) on the road in the next round. Trepca will play against the league's leader Sigal Prishtina and hopes to get back on the winning track.
    Leader Sigal Prishtina delivered the fifteenth victory on Saturday night. This time they crushed 5th ranked Xhebrailat (8-10) 89-62. It was a great evening for Mike Moser who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds. Sigal Prishtina's coach Audrius Prakuraitis felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side Chris Olivier responded with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 15 rebounds. Sigal Prishtina (15-2) have an impressive series of fifteen victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place. Loser Xhebrailat keeps the fifth position with ten games lost. Sigal Prishtina will meet Trepca (#4) in the next round. Xhebrailat will play against Kerasan and hope to secure a win.
    The game in Rahoveci supposed to be also worth to mention about. Third ranked Peja (13-3) played at the court of 6th ranked Rahoveci (6-11). Peja smashed Rahoveci 91-63. The game was also dominated by American players. It was an exceptional evening for Jamie Skeen who led the winners and scored 21 points and 8 rebounds. Coach Aleksandar Todorov's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 10 players saving starting five for next games. Peja maintains third place with 13-3 record having just three points less than leader Sigal Prishtina. Rahoveci lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the sixth position with 11 games lost. Peja's next round opponent will be Vellaznimi (#7) in Gjakove. Rahoveci will play at home against the league's second-placed Bashkimi and hope to win that game.

    Rahoveci - Peja 63-91

    The game in Rahoveci supposed to be also worth to mention about. Third ranked Peja (13-3) played at the court of 6th ranked Rahoveci (6-11). Peja smashed Rahoveci 91-63. The game without a history. Peja led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They also forced 19 Rahoveci turnovers. The game was also dominated by American players. It was an exceptional evening for forward Jamie Skeen (205-88, college: VCU) who led the winners and scored 21 points and 8 rebounds. Forward Noah Dahlman (201-89, college: Wofford) accounted for 13 points and 15 rebounds for the winning side. Four Peja players scored in double figures. Coach Aleksandar Todorov's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 10 players saving starting five for next games. Center Ronald Farmer-Blanchard (208-91, college: Wash.Adventist) came up with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 18 rebounds and guard Tyler Deihl (185-91, college: Francis Marion) added 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for Rahoveci in the defeat. Peja maintains third place with 13-3 record having just three points less than leader Sigal Prishtina. Rahoveci lost their third game in a row.
