Here is the weekly review of the top performing Kosovan players, who play currently abroad.

    Scott Bamforth
    Scott Bamforth
#1. This week's number one is an international swingman Scott Bamforth (188-89, agency: BeoBasket, college: Weber St., currently plays in Spain). Bamforth could not help RETAbet BB (10-11) in their last game on Sunday. Despite his good performance RETAbet BB was defeated 74-63 at home by the higher-ranked Unicaja Malaga (#6). Bamforth was the top scorer with 13 points. Bamforth has relatively good stats this season: 14.4ppg, 3.4rpg, 3.0apg, 2FGP: 56.8%(50-88), 3FGP: 38.8% and FT: 91.1%(82-90). He is a naturalized American. Bamforth is currently a member of the Kosovan senior national team. Strangely he has never played in Kosovo.

    Gezim Morina
    Gezim Morina
#2. Second place goes to former international power forward Gezim Morina (203-92, currently plays in Slovenia). He contributed to a KK Primorska's victory against the closely-ranked Sencur Gorenjska gradbena druzba Kranj (6-14) 85-76 in the Slovenian Liga Nova KBM last Friday. Morina scored 7 points in 20 minutes. Sixt Primorska (11-10) is placed seventh in the Liga Nova KBM. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. It's Morina's first season with the team. This year he averages: 6.9ppg, 3.0rpg, 2FGP: 51.7%, 3FGP: 24.4% and FT: 77.4% in 21 games he played so far. Morina has a dual citizenship: Kosovan and Slovenian. He played for the Kosovan national team in 2011.

    Dardan Berisha
    Dardan Berisha
#3. The Kosovan player who performed third best last week abroad was an international shooting guard Dardan Berisha (191-88, currently plays in Italy). Berisha was not able to help Juvecaserta in their game against Dolomiti En. TR (12-9) in the Italian Serie A. He did not beat the league record on Sunday evening. Berisha scored only 3 points, made 5 passes and 3 steals. Juvecaserta was defeated 76-66 on the road by the much higher-ranked Dolomiti En. TR (#4). It was Juvecaserta's third consecutive loss in a row. Berisha's overall stats this season are: 3.0ppg, 3.0rpg, 3.5apg, 2.0spg, 3FGP: 22.2%. He is another player who holds two passports: Kosovan and Polish. Ex-KB Peja player is also a member of the Kosovan senior national team.

    Jaren Sina
    Jaren Sina
#4. Guard Jaren Sina (188-94, currently plays college basketball in the States) helped G.Washington edge the Fordham University (11-5) 67-66 in the NCAA in Wednesday night's game. Sina recorded 7 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists in 36 minutes. The The George Washington University has 5-7 conference record this season. His team will play only one more game in the NCAA Regular Season. And now that game is very crucial. This year Sina's overall stats are: 9.3ppg, 2.9rpg and 3.2apg in 31 games. He is a naturalized American. Sina is also Kosovan national team player. Apparently he has never played in Kosovo.

    Arif Mehmetaj
    Arif Mehmetaj
#5. International forward Arif Mehmetaj (201-94, currently plays in NCAA2) was not able to secure a victory for the Daemen College (12-6) in their game against the St.Thomas Aquinas College (15-3) in the NCAA2, despite his very good performance on Saturday night. He scored 16 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 28 minutes. But the Daemen College was badly defeated 85-66 in Sparkill by the St.Thomas Aquinas College. The Regular Season already ended in the NCAA2. Mehmetaj has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 15.6ppg, 5.2rpg, 1.8apg and 1.1bpg in 25 games. Mehmetaj is a naturalized American. He plays currently for the Kosovan national team. Interesting that Mehmetaj has never played in Kosovo.

The list of other players, who all have Kosovan passport but never been selected to any of Kosovan national teams:

#1. Kenan Sipahi (197-PG-95, currently plays in Basketball Champions League). He could not help Besiktas (12-2) to beat Pinar Karsiyaka (9-5). Sipahi cannot count Wednesday's game as one of the best ones. He recorded only 3 points, 4 rebounds and 7 assists in 14 minutes. The first-placed Besiktas (12-2) lost 70-75 on the road to the second-ranked Pinar Karsiyaka in the group E of Basketball Champions League. This year Sipahi averages: 2.5ppg, 1.4rpg and 2.8apg in 13 games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Kosovan and Turkish.

#2. Erjon Kastrati (198-SG-94, currently plays in Slovenia) was not able to help Krka in their game against Helios (12-8) in the Slovenian Liga Nova KBM. Kastrati scored 7 points and grabbed 8 rebounds (was perfect 5-for-5 from the free throw line) in 16 minutes. Krka lost 78-84 in Domzale to the lower-ranked (#6) Helios. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. It's Kastrati's fifth season with the team. This year he averages: 9.0ppg, 3.4rpg and 1.3apg in 19 games. Kastrati is another player who holds two passports: Kosovan and Albanian.

#3. Shawn Jones (203-PF-92, college: Middle Tenn.St., currently plays in EuroCup) managed to help Hapoel Jerusalem to win against the closely-ranked Gran Canaria (4-2) 85-79 in the Eurocup in Friday night's game. He scored only 4 points. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Hapoel Jerusalem (5-1) is placed first in the Eurocup. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. It's Jones' first season with the team. This year Jones averages: 5.6ppg and 3.5rpg. He is a naturalized American. Apparently Jones has never played in Kosovo.

#4. Lis Shoshi (211-F-94, currently plays college basketball in the States) was not able to secure a victory for the UALR (4-9) in their game against the University Louisiana at Lafayette (11-6) in the NCAA. The games at this stage are more interesting as they can be crucial for the final standings in Regular Season. Despite we already know who is stronger and who is weaker, there may be still last minute surprises and upsets.
