The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Riga: RTU-Merks (#3) and TTT Juniores (#6). TTT Juniores were smashed at home by 19 points 54-73 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. The guests trailed by 5 points at the halftime before their 38-14 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. RTU-Merks dominated on the defensive end, holding TTT Juniores to just 6 points in third quarter and to 14 points in second half. RTU-Merks held TTT Juniores to an opponent 25.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 43.3 percent accuracy of the winners. RTU-Merks forced 19 TTT Juniores turnovers and had a 32-20 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was power forward Ieva Vitola (187-85) who scored 23 points and 6 rebounds. Forward Laura Audere (180-84) chipped in 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Paula Langina (180-94) produced 11 points and 7 rebounds for the hosts. RTU-Merks maintains third position with 12-6 record having seven points less than leader TTT Riga. TTT Juniores lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 11 games lost. RTU-Merks are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Kolibri/U-16 (#8) in Riga in the next round where they are favorite. TTT Juniores will play at home against Daugavpils Universitate and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Kolibri/U-16 was smashed at home by 61 points 43-104 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Center Liga Surkusa (194-91) orchestrated the victory by scoring 25 points and 9 rebounds (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!). Ieva Krastina contributed with 24 points (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) for the winners. point guard Kate Kreslina (178-96) replied with 21 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for Kolibri/U-16. Kolibri/U-16's coach gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Defending champion maintains first position with 18-1 record. Newly promoted Kolibri/U-16 still closes the standings. TTT Riga will play against Liepajas (#4) at home in the next round. Kolibri/U-16 will play against RTU-Merks (#3) in Riga and hopes to get finally their first victory.

In the last game of round 20 TTT Juniores was crushed by Cesis in a road game 84-59.

Cesis - TTT Juniores 84-59

There was no surprise when 6th ranked TTT Juniores (7-11) were crushed on the road by second ranked Cesis (13-5) 84-59. The game was mostly controlled by Cesis. TTT Juniores was better in third quarter 17-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Cesis dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to TTT Juniores' 30. Cesis forced 23 TTT Juniores turnovers. Guard Agnija Reke (175-86, college: Lamar, agency: Data Plus Group) orchestrated the victory by scoring 22 points and 6 rebounds. The former international swingman Anete Horelika (177-87) contributed with 7 points, 13 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Four Cesis players scored in double figures. Forward Paula Langina (180-94) replied with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds and forward Sigita Dzarcane (181-95) added 9 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for TTT Juniores. TTT Juniores' coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Cesis have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 13-5 record having six points less than leader TTT Riga. TTT Juniores lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 11 games lost. Another interesting game was again a derby between two teams from Riga: TTT Riga (#1) and Kolibri/U-16 (#8). Kolibri/U-16 was smashed at home by 61 points 43-104 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. The game without a history. TTT Riga led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Kolibri/U-16's 26 and made 36-of-44 charity shots (81.8 percent) during the game, while Kolibri/U-16 only scored five points from the stripe. TTT Riga forced 30 Kolibri/U-16 turnovers and outrebounded them 48-32 including a 28-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Kolibri/U-16 was plagued by 32 personal fouls down the stretch. Center Liga Surkusa (194-91) orchestrated the victory by scoring 25 points and 9 rebounds (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!). International swingman Ieva Krastina (175-90, agency: LBM Management) contributed with 24 points (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) for the winners.
