We bring you last week's top performances from Latvians who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

   #1. This week's number one is an international center Zane Tamane (200-83, college: W.Illinois). She led her Turkish team Fenerbahce to a victory over the third-ranked Galatasaray (0-2) 75-67 in a derby game in the Euroleague in Thursday night's game. Tamane was MVP of the game. She scored 19 points, grabbed 9 rebounds and made 3 blocks in 23 minutes on the court. Fenerbahce Spor Kulubu (2-0) is placed first in group A. Tamane's team will play only one more game in the Euroleague Third Stage. And that game will be critical. It's Tamane's first season with the team. She has relatively good stats this year: 10.1ppg, 6.1rpg, 1.7apg and FT: 79.5% in the 16 games she played so far. Tamane is currently a member of the Latvian senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to former international center Anita Teilane (196-85), who plays in the Hungarian A. She could not help Vasas (9-13) in their last game on Friday. Despite Teilane's very good performance Vasas was defeated 76-62 on the road by the higher-ranked Pecs 2010 (#3). She was the top scorer with 21 points. Teilane also added 8 rebounds, 4 assists and made 4 blocks (made all of her seven free throws). Teilane belongs to league's top scorers (ranked #4) and also on the list of best rebounders (first place). She has individually a very good season with high stats. Teilane averages: 15.9ppg, 9.0rpg, 1.7apg, 3.8bpg, 2.8spg, 2FGP: 48.9% and FT: 69.9%. She played for the Latvian national team in 2007.

   #3. The Latvian player who performed third best last week abroad was an experienced former international point guard Rima Valentiene (170-78). Valentiene was the major contributor in VICI-Aistes' victory against the closely-ranked Sirenos (17-11) 72-58 in a derby game in the Lithuanian LMKL on Friday night. She recorded 10 points in 16 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. VICI-Aistes Kaunas (28-0) is placed first in the LMKL. So far her team won all games in the Regular Season. The Regular Season already ended. This year Valentiene's overall stats are: 4.3ppg, 2.4rpg, 2.3apg, 1.4spg, 2FGP: 47.6%, 3FGP: 31.1% in the 21 games. She played for the Latvian national team five years ago.

   #4. Guard Elina Babkina (173-89, agency: LBM Management) is a teammate of previously mentioned Zane Tamane and both played together in the last Euroleague game. Babkina managed to help Fenerbahce Spor Kulubu to win against the third-ranked Galatasaray (0-2) 75-67 in a derby game. She scored 5 points and added 4 passes. Babkina's total stats this season are: 3.8ppg, 1.3rpg and 1.6apg. She is also Latvian national team player.

   #5. Former U20 international center Zenta Melnika (197-91, agency: FCM) contributed to an easy victory against one of league's weakest teams Cagliari CUS (5-17) crushing them 72-47 in the Italian A1 last Sunday. Melnika recorded only 4 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in 21 minutes. Cras Taranto (20-2) is placed first in the A1. It was her team's ninth consecutive victory in a row. They will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And now that game is very crucial. This year Melnika's total stats are: 4.0ppg and 7.0rpg in the two games. She used to play for the Latvian U20 national team two years ago.

   #6. Power forward Aija Putnina (192-88, agency: Josep and Nicolas) is a teammate of previously mentioned Rima Valentiene and both played together in the last Lithuanian LMKL game. Putnina contributed to VICI-Aistes' victory against the closely-ranked Sirenos (17-11) 72-58 in a derby game. She recorded 6 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. This season Putnina has relatively solid stats: 11.1ppg, 6.7rpg and 1.1spg. She is an international player who is currently on the senior Latvian National Team roster.

   #7. International power forward Liene Jansone (191-81, college: Siena), who plays in the French LFB was not able to help Aix-en-Provence (7-17) in their last game. Despite Jansone's good performance Aix-en-Provence lost 45-50 at home to the leading Charleville-Mezieres. She was the top scorer with 11 points. Jansone also added 9 rebounds in 37 minutes. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be important. Jansone has averaged so far 10.0ppg and 6.4rpg in the 24 games. She is also Latvian national team player.

   #8. Guard Kristine Karklina (175-83) was not able to secure a victory for Cadi la Seu (13-13) in their game against Rivas Ecopolis (17-9) in the Spanish LFB. Karklina scored 7 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Cadi la Seu was crushed 84-47 in Rivas by the higher-ranked Ecopolis (#5). It was Cadi la Seu's third consecutive loss in a row. The Regular Season already ended. Karklina has averaged so far 9.7ppg, 4.8rpg, 2.3apg and 1.3spg. She plays currently for the Latvian national team.

International forward Zane Jakobsone (180-85, also represented by Josep and Nicolas, college: Houston) contributed to a Arxil Pontevedra's victory against the 11th-ranked Aguere (6-11) 65-60 in the Spanish LF2 (12th division) on Saturday night. Jakobsone recorded 12 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in 40 minutes. C.B. Arxil Pontevedra (8-13) is placed tenth in Group A. Jakobsone has reliable stats this year: 12.6ppg and 4.5rpg in the 20 games. She is also in the roster of the Latvian national team.

   #10. Forward Gunta Basko (181-80, another player represented by Josep and Nicolas, college: Siena) helped her Russian team Dynamo Kursk win their game against the closely-ranked Kayseri (3-3) crushing them 75-52 in the Eurocup in Thursday night's game. Basko scored only 2 points. It was the game of the round between two top 2 ranked teams in group F. Dynamo Kursk (6-0) is placed first. So far her team won all six games in the Finals. Basko has averaged so far 3.3ppg, 1.7rpg and 1.7spg. She is an international player who is currently on the senior Latvian National Team roster.

   #11. International swingman Aija Veiksane (186-86, college: Rhode Island), who plays in the Spanish LF2 (12th division) couldn't help the league outsider Alvargomez Guadalajara (0-20) in their last game. Despite Veiksane's very good performance the 14th-placed Alvargomez Guadalajara was badly defeated 66-48 in Vilagarcia Arousa by the much higher-ranked (#3) Cortegada in the Group A. She was the top scorer with 17 points. Veiksane also added 4 rebounds in 31 minutes. Veiksane has averaged so far 7.4ppg and 3.8rpg in the 20 games. She plays currently for the Latvian national team.

   #12. International forward Ieva Veinberga (183-84) helped Udine win their game against the 13th-ranked Biassono 76-68 in the Italian A2 (12th division) on Sunday night. Veinberga scored 9 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Veinberga averaged so far 12.4ppg, 7.6rpg and 2.0spg. She is also in the roster of the Latvian national team.

   #13. Former University international power forward Lauma Reke (185-86, college: St.Peter's) helped Orvieto win their game against the ninth-ranked Napoli S.Dike 61-47 in the Italian A2 (12th division) in Sunday night's game. Reke scored 8 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 18 minutes. Reke has averaged so far 9.2ppg, 5.2rpg and 1.6spg in the 20 games. She used to play for the Latvian university national team five years ago.

   #14. Former U20 international center Viktorija Nazarova (184-84) faced previously mentioned Ieva Veinberga in the Italian A2 last game. Nazarova couldn't help Biassono in their game against Udine. She scored 7 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. Her team was defeated 76-68. Nazarova has averaged so far 3.9ppg and 3.7rpg. She used to play for the Latvian U20 national team back in 2004.

   #15. International forward Sabine Niedola (184-91) helped Cajarural win their game against the league leader Navarra Pamplona 74-65 in the Spanish LFB on Saturday night. Niedola scored only 4 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 11 minutes. Niedola has averaged so far 4.9ppg and 4.0rpg in the nine games. She is also in the roster of the Latvian national team.

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Riga. Leader TTT Riga faced 3rd placed Vega 1. Host TTT Riga (5-0) smashed guests from Liepaja (2-4) 69-42. The game without a history. TTT Riga led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. TTT Riga outrebounded Vega 1 38-23 including a 25-14 advantage in defensive rebounds.
