American Tyler Cain (203-F-88) had an amazing evening in the last round for league's second-best VEF Riga and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 27. The 23-year old forward had a double-double of 16 points and fourteen rebounds, while his team outclassed Jurmala (#7, 9-17) with 56-point margin 117-61. VEF Riga maintains the 2nd position in Latvian LBL. VEF Riga has a very good season and are considered to have a run for the championship title. They improved their record to 15-1. It's Cain's second year at VEF Riga and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Tyler Cain averages this season 8.8ppg and 5.9rpg.
The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was another VEF Riga's star - young guard Ivars Zvigurs (195-G-95). Zvigurs impressed basketball fans with 17 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists. Of course together with Cain he helped VEF Riga with another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Jurmala (#7, 9-17) 117-61. VEF Riga's second position in the standings has not changed. His team belongs to top of the standings with 15-1 record and is considered one of the main candidates for the league title. Zvigurs is one of the most experienced players at VEF Riga and similarly like Tyler Cain has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.
The third best performed player last round was another VEF Riga's star - Janis Berzins (201-F/G-93, agency: Players Group). Berzins scored 23 points and grabbed nine rebounds. He was another key player of VEF Riga, helping his team with a 117-61 easy win against the lower-ranked Jurmala (#7, 9-17). Many experts and fans count VEF Riga as a contender for championship title. Another victory and another confirmation that they may be right. Just look at their record: 15 victories and only one lost games.. Berzins has a great season in Latvia. After 13 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 3.6rpg (5th best).

Armands Skele (192-G-83) wins the title in Estonia as his Kalev/Cramo became the Estonian champion for the third year in a row. In the fourth game Kalev/Cramo posted an 81:69 win for 4-0 in the series.

It was a great shooting night for Kalev/Cramo especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 61.5 percentage. 29 personal fouls committed by TU/Rock helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of U.S. Virgin Islands center Frank Elegar who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds and Ty Abbott who added 16 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Four Kalev/Cramo players scored in double figures. Armands Skele added 13 points and 5 rebounds. At the losing side Ivan Nelyubov responded with 12 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks and Rain Veideman scored 19 points.
