We bring you last week's top performances from Latvians who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

   #1. This week's number one is former international guard Armands Skele (192-83). He led Kalev/Cramo to an overtime victory over the league leader Tartu Ulikool (25-3) 87-76 in the Estonian KML in Tuesday night's game. Skele was MVP of the game. He scored 17 points, had 5 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 24 minutes on the court. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. BC Kalev/Cramo Tallinn (23-5) is placed second in the KML. This year Skele averages: 9.2ppg, 3.9rpg, 2.6apg, 1.6spg, 2FGP: 54.2%, 3FGP: 39.5% and FT: 44.8% in the 21 games he played so far. He played for the Latvian senior national team three years ago.

   #2. Second place goes to former international center Raitis Grafs (208-81, college: Valparaiso). Grafs led Siauliai to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Rudupis (16-6) crushing them 81-61 in the Lithuanian LKL last Wednesday. He scored 11 points, had 5 rebounds and dished 4 assists. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. BC Siauliai (16-6) is placed third in the LKL. It was his team's seventh consecutive victory in a row. Grafs' overall stats this season are: 7.6ppg, 3.7rpg, 2FGP: 51.4% and FT: 74.2%. He played for the Latvian national team in 2010.

   #3. The Latvian player who performed third best last week abroad was an international forward Davis Bertans (208-92). Bertans contributed to Partizan's victory against the second-ranked Radnicki Kragujevac (9-3) 82-76 in the Serbian A League on Saturday night. He scored 10 points in 15 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 3 ranked teams in group SuperLiga. BC Partizan MT:S Beograd (10-2) is placed first. It was his team's sixth consecutive victory in a row. There are only two games left until the end of the Second Stage. So now every game will be critical. This year Bertans' overall stats are: 4.2ppg, 1.7rpg, 3FGP: 41.2% in the 10 games. He is also a member of the Latvian senior national team.

   #4. Guard Janis Strelnieks (191-89), who plays in the Russian PBL could not help Spartak St.Petersburg (9-9) to beat Unics Kazan (8-10). Strelnieks scored 7 points and added 3 passes. Spartak St.Petersburg was defeated 81-75 on the road by the lower-ranked Unics Kazan (#6). It's Strelnieks' first season with the team. His total stats this year are: 5.0ppg and 1.1apg. Strelnieks is also Latvian national team player.

   #5. International guard Janis Blums (190-82) was not able to help Gescrap BB (19-15) in their game against Caja Laboral (23-11) in the Spanish ACB. He recorded 5 points in 21 minutes. Gescrap BB lost 73-77 in Vitoria to the higher-ranked (#3) Caja Laboral. Blums has been at the team for four years. This season Blums' total stats are: 5.7ppg and 1.3rpg in the 32 games. He plays currently for the Latvian national team.

   #6. Swingman Mareks Jurevicus (197-85) was not able to secure a victory for Assi Ostuni (13-15) in their game against Enel Brindisi (18-10) in the Italian Lega2 (second division). Jurevicus did not beat the league record on Wednesday evening. He recorded only 2 points. Assi Ostuni was defeated 80-66 in Brindisi by the higher-ranked Enel (#3). Jurevicus has relatively good stats this season: 13.6ppg, 4.2rpg, 1.7apg and 1.1spg. He is an international player who is currently on the senior Latvian National Team roster.

Defending champion Lukoil Academic Sofia (NBL) tabbed 24-year old American center Steve Zack (211-111kg-92, college: La Salle). He played most recently at Liepaja/Triobet in the Latvian LBL league. In 21 games there he averaged 14.0ppg, 11.9rpg, 1.3apg and 1.2bpg last season. He can count that year as a very successful one as he was selected to the Latvian League All-Star Game. BK Barons Kvartals Riga (LBL) agreed terms with 22-year old Lithuanian forward Denis Krestinin (202-94, agency: BeoBasket). He played last season at PGE Turow in Polish TBL league. In 28 games he had just 3.0ppg and 3.6rpg. Krestinin also played 6 games in FIBA Europe Cup where he recorded 3.8ppg and 4.3rpg. The previous (14-15) season he played at BK Jelgava. Liepaja/Triobet (LBL) inked 26-year old center Davis Rozitis (213-109kg-90, college: Hawaii). He has played for the last two years at Valmiera/ORDO in the LBL. In 40 games he recorded 8.1ppg and 4.9rpg last season. Rozitis helped them to win the league title. He also played 20 games in Baltic League where he averaged 6.7ppg and 5.7rpg.
