We bring you last week's top performances from Latvians who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

   #1. This week's number one is former international guard Armands Skele (192-83). He led Kalev/Cramo to an overtime victory over the league leader Tartu Ulikool (25-3) 87-76 in the Estonian KML in Tuesday night's game. Skele was MVP of the game. He scored 17 points, had 5 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 24 minutes on the court. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. BC Kalev/Cramo Tallinn (23-5) is placed second in the KML. This year Skele averages: 9.2ppg, 3.9rpg, 2.6apg, 1.6spg, 2FGP: 54.2%, 3FGP: 39.5% and FT: 44.8% in the 21 games he played so far. He played for the Latvian senior national team three years ago.

   #2. Second place goes to former international center Raitis Grafs (208-81, college: Valparaiso). Grafs led Siauliai to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Rudupis (16-6) crushing them 81-61 in the Lithuanian LKL last Wednesday. He scored 11 points, had 5 rebounds and dished 4 assists. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. BC Siauliai (16-6) is placed third in the LKL. It was his team's seventh consecutive victory in a row. Grafs' overall stats this season are: 7.6ppg, 3.7rpg, 2FGP: 51.4% and FT: 74.2%. He played for the Latvian national team in 2010.

   #3. The Latvian player who performed third best last week abroad was an international forward Davis Bertans (208-92). Bertans contributed to Partizan's victory against the second-ranked Radnicki Kragujevac (9-3) 82-76 in the Serbian A League on Saturday night. He scored 10 points in 15 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 3 ranked teams in group SuperLiga. BC Partizan MT:S Beograd (10-2) is placed first. It was his team's sixth consecutive victory in a row. There are only two games left until the end of the Second Stage. So now every game will be critical. This year Bertans' overall stats are: 4.2ppg, 1.7rpg, 3FGP: 41.2% in the 10 games. He is also a member of the Latvian senior national team.

   #4. Guard Janis Strelnieks (191-89), who plays in the Russian PBL could not help Spartak St.Petersburg (9-9) to beat Unics Kazan (8-10). Strelnieks scored 7 points and added 3 passes. Spartak St.Petersburg was defeated 81-75 on the road by the lower-ranked Unics Kazan (#6). It's Strelnieks' first season with the team. His total stats this year are: 5.0ppg and 1.1apg. Strelnieks is also Latvian national team player.

   #5. International guard Janis Blums (190-82) was not able to help Gescrap BB (19-15) in their game against Caja Laboral (23-11) in the Spanish ACB. He recorded 5 points in 21 minutes. Gescrap BB lost 73-77 in Vitoria to the higher-ranked (#3) Caja Laboral. Blums has been at the team for four years. This season Blums' total stats are: 5.7ppg and 1.3rpg in the 32 games. He plays currently for the Latvian national team.

   #6. Swingman Mareks Jurevicus (197-85) was not able to secure a victory for Assi Ostuni (13-15) in their game against Enel Brindisi (18-10) in the Italian Lega2 (second division). Jurevicus did not beat the league record on Wednesday evening. He recorded only 2 points. Assi Ostuni was defeated 80-66 in Brindisi by the higher-ranked Enel (#3). Jurevicus has relatively good stats this season: 13.6ppg, 4.2rpg, 1.7apg and 1.1spg. He is an international player who is currently on the senior Latvian National Team roster.

Defending champion Xinjiang Flying Tigers (CBA) hired experienced 53-year old Latvian coach Igors Miglinieks. He coached most recently at BK Jekabpils in Latvian LBL league. Among other achievements Miglinieks' team was regular season runner-up in Cyprus League in 2012. He was selected to FIBA EuroCup All-Star Game back in 2007. Miglinieks is a very experienced coach. EA7 Emporio Armani Milano (Serie A) landed 28-year old Latvian international shooting guard Dairis Bertans (194-91kg-89). He played most recently at Darussafaka in Turkish BSL league. In 23 games he averaged 10.0ppg, 1.5rpg and 2.6apg last season. Bertans helped them to make it to the semifinals. He also played 32 games in Euroleague where he had 6.4ppg and 1.3apg. betFIRST Liege Basket (Euromillions League) inked 26-year old American guard Tyler Larson (190-86kg-91, college: S.Dakota). He played most recently at Barons Riga in Latvian LBL league.
