Ventspils signs 2-year deal with Sandis Valters - Sep 19, 2012

Sandis Valters (193-G-78) is a new member of Ventspils. The Latvian guard penned a 2-year deal with his new club. He was practicing with the team already for few weeks and now he officially became their new player. Valters had 10.3 ppg and 2.6 apg for 20 LBL games last season with VEF Riga. His numbers in VTB league were almost the same for 16 games. In EuroCup, the player collected 9.3 ppg, 2.8 apg and 2.6 rpg for 12 appearances. Sandis Valters won the LBL title with VEF Riga last season and in 2011 as well. In 2011 he was named Eurobasket.com All-Latvian League Player of the Year -11. Before VEF Riga, Sandis Valters played for Imola, ASK Riga, Azovmash and Anwil.
Kristaps Valters (190-G-81), who also was practicing with Ventspils recently, signed a deal with Artland Dragons.

BK Jekabpils (LBL) agreed on terms of contract with 28-year old head coach Rudolfs Rozitis. It is actually his comeback to Jekabpils as he used to work here before. Rozitis moved there from Barons Riga (LBL). The last season he worked as assistant coach at BK Jekabpils. He helped them to make it to the semifinals.
