The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Eclex Tallinn as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Eclex Tallinn defeated 3rd placed TTT Riga at home 75-69. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of TTT Riga. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But TTT Riga won third quarter 18-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded TTT Riga 43-31 including 17 on the offensive glass. 25 personal fouls committed by TTT Riga helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Estonian forward Viive Kai Rebane (182-89, college: Binghamton) fired a double-double by scoring 26 points and 15 rebounds (made all of her ten free throws !!!) for the winners. Estonian guard Mirjam Nikolai (177-86) chipped in 18 points and 5 rebounds. International swingman Ieva Krastina (174-90, agency: LBM Management) produced 19 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals for lost side. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Defending champion TTT Riga keeps the third place with two games lost. TTT Riga will play next round against Kolibri/U-16 trying to get back on the winning streak. Eclex Tallinn will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
Another exciting game was played in Tallinn between eighth ranked Tallina U. and 5th ranked Liepajas where host Tallina U. (4-5) won against Liepajas (5-4) 70-61. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Liepajas. Worth to mention a great performance of Estonian guard Pirgit Puu (168-88) who helped to win the game recording 20 points. Kerttu Jallai contributed with 16 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Guard Kristina Cirsa (177-87) answered with 21 points and 8 rebounds for Liepajas. Tallina U. moved-up to seventh place. Liepajas at the other side keep the fifth position with four games lost. Tallina U. will play against league's second-placed Cesis at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Liepajas will play against Latvijas Universitate in Riga and hope to get back on the winning track.

The game in Audentes was also worth to mention about. Sixth ranked TTT Juniores (5-5) played at the court of 7th ranked Audentes SG/N. (4-7). TTT Juniores defeated Audentes SG/N. 81-69. Renate Reine nailed 27 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. TTT Juniores' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. TTT Juniores maintains sixth place with 5-5 record. Audentes SG/N. at the other side dropped to the eighth position with seven games lost. TTT Juniores' next round opponent will be higher ranked Liepajas (#5) on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.

In the last game of round 13 LU defeated Rapla KK in Riga 66-58.

Tartu U. - Kolibri/U-16 49-59

Bottom-ranked Tartu U. (0-9) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 59-49 loss to tenth ranked Kolibri/U-16 (3-6) in Tartu on Tuesday evening. The game was mostly controlled by Kolibri/U-16. Tartu U. managed to win second period 11-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Kolibri/U-16 forced 26 Tartu U. turnovers. Rapla KK - LU 58-66

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 11th ranked Rapla KK's (1-9) home loss to tenth ranked Latvijas Universitate (3-7) 58-66. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 21-11. But Rapla KK won second period 18-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Latvijas Universitate made 24-of-30 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game, while Rapla KK only scored eight points from the stripe. They outrebounded Rapla KK 48-25 including a 19-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Center Egita Vinakmene (184-93) nailed 22 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side and guard Laura Purina (171-90, college: Northwestern (WY)) accounted for 11 points and 12 rebounds. Four Latvijas Universitate players scored in double figures. Estonian forward Kerli Haas (180-90) came up with 29 points and 8 rebounds and Estonian forward Kaia Kosk (177-89, college: E.Kentucky) added 14 points and 6 assists respectively for Rapla KK in the defeat. Latvijas Universitate maintains tenth place with 3-7 record. Rapla KK lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with nine games lost. Latvijas Universitate's next round opponent will be higher ranked Liepajas (#5) at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Rapla KK will play against Tartu U. (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

The hosts were already 11 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 18-16 Liepajas' run in the last quarter cut the lead to 70-61 at the end of the game. Tallina U. forced 20 Liepajas turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of Estonian guard Pirgit Puu (168-88) who helped to win the game recording 20 points. The game in Audentes was also worth to mention about. Sixth ranked TTT Juniores (5-5) played at the court of 7th ranked Audentes SG/N. (4-7). TTT Juniores defeated Audentes SG/N. 81-69. It looked good early as Audentes SG/N. took an 5-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then TTT Juniores had a 25-15 second period charge getting the lead and Audentes SG/N. was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 69-81. TTT Juniores shot the lights out from three nailing 12 long-distance shots on high 63.2 percentage. Guard Renate Reine (180-94) nailed 27 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side and forward Paula Langina (180-94) accounted for 15 points and 9 rebounds. TTT Juniores' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Estonian center Trine Kasemagi (190-95) came up with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds and Estonian forward Kadri-Ann Lass (175-96) added 13 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Audentes SG/N. in the defeat.
