LSBL top team - Cesis (11-0) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed ninth ranked Kolibri/U-16 (3-8) 89-43. The game was mostly controlled by Cesis. Kolibri/U-16 managed to win second period 15-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Kolibri/U-16 to just 7 points in first quarter. Cesis dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Kolibri/U-16's 24. Cesis forced 28 Kolibri/U-16 turnovers and outrebounded them 43-30 including 28 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 4 passes made by Kolibri/U-16's players. International forward Zane Jakobsone (180-85, college: Houston, agency: Josep and Nicolas) orchestrated the victory by scoring 31 points and 9 rebounds. The former international guard Anda Eibele (170-84, agency: Josep and Nicolas) contributed with 13 points and 15 assists for the winners. Forward Paula Strautmane (184-97) replied with 9 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks for Kolibri/U-16. Kolibri/U-16's coach Ainars Cukste gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Undefeated Cesis have an impressive 11-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 11-0 record. Newly promoted Kolibri/U-16 keeps the ninth place with eight games lost. They share the position with LU.

It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Tallina U.. Swingman Kristine Silaraja (178-87, college: Robert Morris) had a double-double by scoring 29 points and 12 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Zane Jakobsone chipped in 23 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Estonian center Valeria Kast (201-87, college: N.Mexico, agency: Josep and Nicolas) responded with 18 points and 8 rebounds. Undefeated Cesis have an impressive 11-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 11-0 record. Tallina U. at the other side keeps the seventh place with six games lost.
Bottom-ranked Tartu U. is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their tenth consecutive match to eleventh ranked Rapla KK (2-9) 77-71 on Tuesday evening. Kaia Kosk notched 27 points and 6 rebounds to lead the effort. Even a double-double of 19 points and 11 rebounds by Kaiti Vasiljeva did not help to save the game for Tartu U.. Tartu U.'s coach Kaire Asi rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Rapla KK maintains eleventh position with 2-9 record. Loser Tartu U. still closes the standings with ten games lost.
Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Riga: TTT Riga (#3) and Kolibri/U-16 (#9). TTT Riga (9-2) smashed visiting Kolibri/U-16 (3-8) by 42 points 88-46. The best player for the winners was Dita Rozenberga who scored 19 points and 8 rebounds. TTT Riga's coach Aigars Nerips felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion maintains third position with 9-2 record having just two points less than leader Cesis. Newly promoted Kolibri/U-16 keeps the ninth place with eight games lost.

In the last two games of round 14 Liepajas smashed LU on the road 76-52. Liepajas destroyed TTT Juniores on its own court 67-36.

LU - Liepajas 52-76

No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Liepajas (7-4) crushed 10th ranked Latvijas Universitate (3-8) in Riga 76-52. The game was mostly controlled by Liepajas. Latvijas Universitate was better in third quarter 17-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Liepajas dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Latvijas Universitate's 20. Liepajas forced 19 Latvijas Universitate turnovers. The best player for the winners was power forward Sabine Egle (179-91) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds. Forward Alise Piterniece (180-88) chipped in 20 points and 5 rebounds. Four Liepajas players scored in double figures. Guard Anete Vorma (165-89) produced 12 points and guard Liba Paula Berga (173-93) added 9 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Latvijas Universitate's coach already knew that her team would not have a big chance, so allowed to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Liepajas moved-up to fourth place, which they share with RTU-Merks. Latvijas Universitate at the other side dropped to the ninth position with eight games lost.

Bottom-ranked Tartu U. is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their tenth consecutive match to eleventh ranked Rapla KK (2-9) 77-71 on Tuesday evening. The guests trailed by 2 points after three quarters before their 24-16 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Rapla KK made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. They also forced 27 Tartu U. turnovers.
