Here is the weekly review of the top performing Latvian players, who play currently abroad.

   #1. This week's number one is an international small forward Davis Bertans (203-92, currently plays in Adriatic League). He led his Serbian team Partizan to a victory against the 12th-ranked Krka (5-10) 66-58 in the Adriatic League in Saturday night's game. Bertans scored 12 points in 27 minutes on the court. BC Partizan MT:S Beograd (10-5) is placed third in the Adriatic League. This year Bertans averages: 8.4ppg, 2.5rpg, 3FGP: 45.5%(25-55) and FT: 71.4% in the 15 games he played so far. He is currently a member of the Latvian senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to an international shooting guard Janis Blums (191-82, currently plays in Lithuania), who plays in the Lithuanian LKL. Blums could not help Lietuvos rytas (4-2) in their last game on Saturday. Despite his good performance Lietuvos rytas was defeated 82-76 on the road by the leading Rudupis. Blums was the second best scorer with 13 points. He also added 4 assists. Blums' overall stats this season are: 8.0ppg, 1.8rpg, 1.5apg, 3FGP: 52.2%(12-23). He is in the roster of the Latvian senior national team.

   #3. The Latvian player who performed third best last week abroad was an international point guard Janis Strelnieks (191-89, currently plays in Russia). Strelnieks contributed to a 1-point Spartak St.Petersburg's victory against one of league's weakest teams BC Nizhny Novgorod (2-6) 68-67 in the Russian PBL on Sunday night. He recorded 8 points and added 4 passes in 15 minutes. Spartak St.Petersburg (6-3) is placed third in the PBL. This year Strelnieks averages only 4.3ppg, 3FGP: 58.3% in the six games. He is also a member of the Latvian senior national team.

Point guard Edgars Jeromanovs (186-86, currently plays in Sweden) led Norrkoping Dolphins to a victory over the seventh-ranked 08 Stockholm (9-8) 90-82 in the Swedish Basketligan in Friday night's game. Jeromanovs was MVP of the game. He scored 20 points, had 5 rebounds and dished 6 assists (went 6 for 6 at the free throw line). Norrkoping Dolphins (13-1) is placed first in the Basketligan. Jeromanovs has relatively good stats this season: 12.6ppg, 3.1rpg, 4.2apg and 1.4spg. He is also Latvian national team player.

Former international center Andris Biedrins (213-86, currently plays in NBA) managed to help Golden State Warriors in a victory against the Charlotte Bobcats (7-21) 115-100 in the NBA last Friday. Biedrins recorded only 2 points, 7 rebounds and 3 blocks in 13 minutes. The Golden State Warriors have a solid 19-10 record this season. It's Biedrins' ninth year with the team. This year his overall stats are: 0.6ppg and 3.3rpg in the 22 games. Biedrins used to play for the Latvian national team three years ago.

   #6. Point guard Kaspars Vecvagars (193-93, currently plays in Lithuania) was not able to help Lietkabelis (5-5) in their game against Lietuvos rytas (4-2) in the Lithuanian LKL. Despite his good performance on Thursday night He scored 11 points. Vecvagars' total stats this season are: 6.1ppg, 2.0rpg and 1.9apg. He is an international player who is currently on the senior Latvian National Team roster.

Former University international guard Martins Kravcenko (192-85, currently plays in Ukraine) was the major contributor in Mykolaiv's victory against the 12th-ranked Dnipro (6-15) 76-71 in the Ukrainian Superleague in Friday night's game. Kravcenko scored 16 points in 26 minutes. MBC Mykolaiv (11-11) is placed seventh in the Superleague. There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. It's Kravcenko's first season with the team. This year his total stats are: 6.7ppg, 2.1rpg and 1.7apg in the 22 games. Kravcenko used to play for the Latvian university national team three years ago.

   #8. Guard Kristaps Valters (190-81, currently plays in Spain) contributed to a Baloncesto Fuenlabrada's victory against the closely-ranked Cajasol (3-11) 82-78 in the Spanish ACB last Sunday. He scored 10 points and added 6 passes. Mad-Croc Fuenlabrada (4-10) is placed 15th in the ACB. Valters has averaged so far 6.4ppg, 1.8rpg and 3.8apg. He used to play for the Latvian national team back in 2009.

Former international center Kaspars Cipruss (210-82, currently plays in Lithuania) is a teammate of previously mentioned Kaspars Vecvagars and both played together in the last Lithuanian LKL game. Cipruss was not able to secure a victory for Lietkabelis (5-5) in their game against Lietuvos rytas (4-2). He scored 7 points. Lietkabelis was crushed 114-66 at home by the lower-ranked Lietuvos rytas (#8). Cipruss has averaged so far 9.2ppg, 5.4rpg and 1.5apg. He used to play for the Latvian national team four years ago.

   #10. Forward Ivars Timermanis (203-82, currently plays in Romania) helped Ploiesti win their game against the 12th-ranked Giurgiu (5-10) 91-84 in the Romanian Division A last Saturday. Timermanis scored 8 points in 21 minutes. CSU Asesoft Ploiesti (11-3) is placed second in the Division A. It was his team's eighth consecutive victory in a row. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. Timermanis has averaged so far 9.5ppg, 3.0rpg and 1.2apg in the 14 games. He is a former international player as five years ago he still played for the Latvian senior national team.

   #11. International power forward Rolands Freimanis (210-88, currently plays in Italy) couldn't help Sutor Montegranaro in their game against Cantu in the Italian SerieA. Freimanis scored 7 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. His team was crushed by 21 points 100-79. Freimanis has averaged so far 9.4ppg and 4.3rpg. He plays currently for the Latvian national team.

   #12. International forward Oto Osenieks (203-90, currently plays college basketball in the States) helped Minnesota win their game against the Lafayette College crushing them 75-50 in the NCAA in Saturday night's game. Osenieks scored 10 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 20 minutes. Osenieks has averaged so far 9.4ppg and 4.3rpg in the 10 games. He is also in the roster of the Latvian national team.

   #13. Former international forward Ernests Kalve (200-87, currently plays in Adriatic League) helped his Hungarian team Szolnok win their game against the closely-ranked Krka 72-69 in the Adriatic League last Wednesday. Kalve scored only 2 points. Kalve has averaged so far 8.1ppg, 3.3rpg and 1.2spg. He used to play for the Latvian national team two years ago.

   #14. International forward Mareks Mejeris (208-91, agency: Players Group, currently plays in Spain) couldn't help CB Clavijo in their game against Lobe Huesca in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division). Mejeris scored 8 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 26 minutes. His team was edged 66-63. Mejeris has averaged so far 7.3ppg and 4.4rpg in the 12 games. He plays currently for the Latvian national team.

   #15. International small forward Rihards Kuksiks (197-88, college: Arizona St., currently plays in Spain) helped Lagun Aro GBC win their game against the sixth-ranked CAI Zaragoza 79-70 in the Spanish ACB in Wednesday night's game. Kuksiks recorded 6 points. Kuksiks has averaged so far 6.2ppg and 1.5rpg. He is also in the roster of the Latvian national team.

   #1. Martins Berkis (198-F-85, currently plays in Hungary) was the major contributor in a Marso NYKK's victory against the closely-ranked Szedeak (5-9) 95-78 in the Hungarian A Division on Wednesday night. Berkis recorded 21 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals in 34 minutes. Marso NYKK (5-9) is placed ninth in the A Division. Berkis has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 16.9ppg, 6.0rpg, 2.5apg and 1.6spg in the 14 games he played so far.

FINAL Ventspils - VEF Riga 76-84 VEF Riga defeated Ventspils to take 2-0 lead in the Finals. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 47-37 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. VEF Riga forced 19 Ventspils turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. 26 personal fouls committed by Ventspils helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities.
