We bring you last week's top performances from Latvians who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

   #1. This week's number one is an international center Ieva Kublina (193-82, college: Virginia Tech, currently plays in Hungary). She led UNI Gyor to a victory over the sixth-ranked DKSK (8-7) crushing them 88-64 in the Hungarian A Division in Saturday night's game. Kublina was MVP of the game. She scored 22 points, had 4 rebounds and dished 5 assists in 23 minutes on the court. HAT-AGRO UNI Gyor (12-3) is placed second in the A Division. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Kublina has relatively good stats this year: 12.4ppg, 6.1rpg, 2.1apg, 2FGP: 53.1%, 3FGP: 47.6%(10-21) and FT: 89.4% in the 14 games she played so far. She is currently a member of the Latvian senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to an international center Zane Teilane-Tamane (200-83, agency: LBM Management, college: W.Illinois, currently plays in Russia). Teilane-Tamane contributed to an easy victory against the league outsider BC Rostov (1-8) crushing them 82-44 in the Russian PBL last Saturday. She scored 9 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Nadezhda Orenburg (6-3) is placed fourth in the PBL. This season Teilane-Tamane averages: 9.1ppg, 7.1rpg, 1.8apg, 2FGP: 58.6%(34-58) and FT: 77.8%. She is in the roster of the Latvian senior national team.

   #3. The Latvian player who performed third best last week abroad was former University international power forward Lauma Reke (185-86, college: St.Peter's, currently plays in Italy). She was the main contributor in a T. La Spezia's victory against the 12th-ranked College Italia (1-11) crushing them 74-41 in the Italian A2 (12th division) in Saturday night's game. Reke was the best player in that game. She recorded 24 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Termocarispe La Spezia (10-2) is placed second in South group. It was her team's sixth consecutive victory in a row. Reke is currently sixth on the list of top scorers. She has individually a very good season with high stats. Reke averages: 16.6ppg, 7.6rpg, 1.8spg, 2FGP: 52.9%, 3FGP: 37.0% and FT: 71.4%. She played for the Latvian university national team five years ago.

Forward Dita Liepkalne (185-87, college: Hawaii, currently plays in Spain) was the major contributor in Cortegada's victory against the third-ranked Universitario de Ferrol (6-1) 74-62 in the Spanish LF2 (12th division) last Saturday. Liepkalne recorded 20 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 36 minutes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only her third season in pro basketball. It was the game of the round between two top 3 ranked teams in Group A. Thetrend Social Cortegada (9-0) is placed first. So far her team won all nine games in the Regular Season. This year Liepkalne has relatively solid stats: 11.0ppg and 4.8rpg in the nine games. She used to play for the Latvian university national team back in 2007.

U20 international forward Sabine Dukate (174-93, currently plays in Lithuania) contributed to an easy victory against the league outsider Jaunieji Talentai (1-12) crushing them 87-59 in the Lithuanian LMKL on Friday night. Dukate recorded 8 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists. Suduva Marijampole (9-4) is placed third in the LMKL. It was her team's third consecutive victory in a row. Dukate's overall stats this season are: 7.8ppg, 2.7rpg and 1.1apg. She plays currently for the Latvian U20 national team.

   #6. Forward Ieva Veinberga (183-84, currently plays in Lithuania) is a teammate of previously mentioned Sabine Dukate and both played together in the last Lithuanian LMKL game. Veinberga contributed to an easy victory against the league outsider Jaunieji Talentai (1-12) crushing them 87-59. She recorded 7 points in only 10 minutes. This year Veinberga's overall stats are: 8.0ppg, 4.3rpg and 1.3spg in the 10 games. She is international player as she played for the Latvian senior team one years ago.

International guard Kristine Karklina (175-83, agency: Regeneracom Sports, currently plays in Turkey) contributed to a Ceyhan Bld's victory against the 12th-ranked Samsun (2-9) 69-61 in the Turkish TKBL last Wednesday. Karklina scored 6 points. Ceyhan Belediyespor (6-5) is placed sixth in the TKBL. Karklina's total stats this season are: 8.5ppg, 1.6rpg, 2.2apg and 1.5spg. She is also Latvian national team player.

Power forward Liene Jansone (192-81, college: Siena, currently plays in Turkey) managed to help Tarsus Belediyesi in a victory against the closely-ranked Kayseri (8-3) 74-63 in the Turkish TKBL on Wednesday night. Jansone scored only 2 points in 18 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Tarsus Belediyesi (8-3) is placed third in the TKBL. It was her team's fifth consecutive victory in a row. This year Jansone's total stats are: 5.0ppg and 3.3rpg in the six games. She plays currently for the Latvian national team.

International center Aija Brumermane (191-86, also represented by Regeneracom Sports, currently plays in Hungary) helped Bacsbasket win their game against one of league's weakest teams Cegledi EKK (3-12) crushing them 71-50 in the Hungarian A Division in Thursday night's game. Brumermane scored 5 points. Bacsbasket Kft. Baja (8-7) is placed fifth in the A Division. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. Brumermane is currently fifth on the list of best rebounders. She has averaged so far 10.0ppg, 6.6rpg, 1.8apg and 1.1spg. Brumermane is also in the roster of the Latvian national team.

   #10. Center Liga Surkusa (194-91, currently plays in Italy), who plays in the Italian A2 (12th division) could not help Broni (5-8) to beat Udine (7-6). She cannot count Sunday's game as one of the best ones. Surkusa recorded only 1 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 14 minutes. The tenth-placed Broni lost 54-62 at home to the higher-ranked (#6) Udine in the North group. It was Broni's third consecutive loss in a row. Surkusa is ranked second on the list of the best blockers in the league with 1.5bpg. This year she also averages: 8.5ppg, 9.3rpg and 1.2spg in the 13 games. Surkusa is an international player who is currently on the senior Latvian National Team roster.

Experienced Rima Valentiene (170-PG-78, currently plays in Lithuania) led Kibirkstis-Tiche to a 1-point victory against the sixth-ranked Aistes-LSU (4-9) 66-65 in the Lithuanian LMKL on Friday night. Valentiene recorded 11 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists in 30 minutes. Kibirkstis-Tiche-IKI Vilnius (12-1) is placed first in the LMKL. This year Valentiene's overall stats are: 4.7ppg, 2.8rpg, 2.2apg and 1.3spg in the 13 games she played so far.

The most important game in the last round took place in Tallinn between third ranked Tallina U. (5-4) and fifth ranked Rapla KK (5-3) on Friday night. The game had a very big importance for second-ranked TTT Riga as it allowed them to take a leadership position. TTT Riga smashed 4th placed RSU-Merks at home 105-44.
