ZVVZ USK Praha (ZBL) landed 24-year old Latvian ex-international guard Elina Babkina (173-89, agency: LBM Management). She played recently at CSM Targoviste in Romanian Division A. In 12 games this season she averaged 9.3ppg, 1.3rpg and 3.8apg. Babkina also played 8 games in Euroleague where she had 10.1ppg, 1.4rpg, 3.9apg and 1.0spg. The last season she played at Fenerbahce in Turkish TKBL. In 18 games last year she had 4.1ppg, 1.1rpg and 1.6apg. She helped them to make it to the cup final.
The previous (2011) summer Babkina played at Los Angeles Sparks in WNBA. She also played at Basketball Investments SSA Gdynia (previous name Lotos Gdynia) in Polish PLKK earlier that season. In 33 games that year she had 12.8ppg, 2.4rpg, 3.5apg and 1.4spg. She contributed to her team winning the cup and make to league semifinals. It was a very successful season in her career as she was selected to Eurobasket.com All-Polish PLKK 2nd Team and All-Bosmans Team. Babkina also played 9 games in Euroleague where she had 13.2ppg, 3.2rpg, 4.0apg and 1.1spg.
Two years ago she was drafted by Los Angeles Sparks (WNBA) in third round (29th overall).
Among other achievements Babkina won Latvian LSBL championship title for three years in a row (between 2007 and 2009).
She was also a member of Latvian international program for some years. Babkina played for Latvian Senior National Team between 2008 and 2011 and previouslyfor U20 National Team between 2005 and 2009. She also represented Latvia at the European Championships in Poland two years ago. Her stats at that event were 9 games: 14.4ppg, 2.6rpg, Assists-1(4.2apg), 1.1spg, FGP: 41.1%, 3PT: 25.0%, FT: 77.5%.
Babkina has played also professionally in France (Challes-les-Eaux), Poland (BI SSA Gdynia) and Latvia (TTT Riga, Cesis and Latvija U-18).

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Riga. Leader TTT Riga faced 3rd placed Vega 1. Host TTT Riga (5-0) smashed guests from Liepaja (2-4) 69-42. The game without a history.
