Latvia U18 edge Sweden U18 in Day 2 of the Baltic Sea Basketball Cup tournament. The Latvian side improved to 1-1 record after a tough 57:54 win. The Swedish counterparts fell at 0-2 record at the tournament.
Both teams lost the openers of the tournament and desired to win the initial game. Sweden started with 22-16 but could not win another single quarter. Latvia replied with 13-9 in the second period and then pushed the tempo in the last period. Latvia needed a 17-12 raly to seal the win.
Sigita Dzarcane (181-F-95) top-scored for the winners with 17 points and Kitija Stolce (186-PF-96) added 10. Anna Busa (179-F-96) delivered 9, while Elina Berzina (175-G-95) posted 7. Anna Lundqvist (176-G-96) replied with 12 points in the losing case Emma Eriksson (164-PG-95) 9, Rebecka Garderyd (173-PG-96) 9, Amanda Kantzy (185-F-96) 5

TTT Riga keeps Krastina for another season - 13 days ago
TTT Riga (LSBL) re-signed 27-year old international swingman Ieva Krastina (172-90, agency: LBM Management). She has played there for the last three seasons. Krastina managed to play in three leagues last year (!!!). In 20 LSBL games she averaged 10.0ppg, 3.1rpg, 3.5apg and 2.7spg. A very good season in her career as she Eurobasket.com and selected to 1st Team. Krastina also played 8 games in Eurocup where she had 10.0ppg, 2.9rpg, 3.1apg and 2.6spg. Serbia and Latvia to host 2019 EuroBasket - 26 days ago
2019 EuroBasket will be held in Serbia and Latvia. Both teams will host two preliminary round groups each. The Final Stage will be played in Belgrade. The preliminary round groups will be played in Nis, Zrenjanin, Riga and Liepaja. Russia and Israel also bid for the EuroBasket hosting rights.   [read more]
