The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Riga: TTT Riga (#3) and RTU-Merks (#5). TTT Riga (10-2) crushed visiting RTU-Merks (7-5) by 18 points 83-65. The game without a history. TTT Riga led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. TTT Riga forced 26 RTU-Merks turnovers. It was a good game for forward Dita Rozenberga (181-92) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 11 rebounds. International swingman Ieva Krastina (174-90, agency: LBM Management) contributed with 15 points for the winners. TTT Riga's coach Aigars Nerips used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Center Daina Lazdeniece (187-89) answered with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds for RTU-Merks. Defending champion maintains third place with 10-2 record having just two points less than leader Cesis. RTU-Merks at the other side keep the fifth position with five games lost. TTT Riga are looking forward to face Kolibri/U-16 (#10) in Riga in the next round and are hoping to win another game. RTU-Merks will play at home against Audentes SG/N. (#8) and are hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win. LSBL top team - Cesis (12-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed tenth ranked Kolibri/U-16 (3-10) in Riga 107-43. It was a great evening for the former international guard Anda Eibele (170-84, agency: Josep and Nicolas) who led her team to a victory scoring 20 points and 5 assists. Zane Jakobsone helped adding 18 points and 7 rebounds. Cesis' coach Armands Kraulins felt very confident using 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was forward Laura Grabe (176-98) with 10 points and 9 rebounds. Undefeated Cesis have an impressive series of twelve victories in a row. They maintain first place with 12-0 record. Kolibri/U-16 lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the tenth position with ten games lost. Kolibri/U-16 will play at home against TTT Riga and hopes to get back on the winning track. It was an exceptional evening for Kate Aizsila who led the winners and scored 23 points and 5 rebounds. Amanda Betlere came up with 16 points and 4 steals for Kolibri/U-16 in the defeat. TTT Juniores maintains sixth place with 6-6 record. Kolibri/U-16 lost their fourth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the tenth position with ten games lost. TTT Juniores will meet at home higher ranked Liepajas (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Kolibri/U-16 will play against TTT Riga (#3) and hope to secure a win.
In the last game of round 15 LU was smashed by Liepajas on the road 79-58. The most impressive performance of 15th round was 27 points and 5 steals by Kristina Cirsa of Liepajas.
No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Liepajas (8-4) crushed at home 9th ranked Latvijas Universitate (3-9) 79-58 on Wednesday. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 34-10 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Liepajas forced 30 Latvijas Universitate turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for forward Alise Piterniece (180-88) who led the winners and scored 28 points and 6 rebounds. American center Joncelyn Peterkin (187-89, college: Point Park) accounted for 11 points, 19 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals for the winning side. Center Zane Neilande (183-93) came up with 13 points and 7 rebounds and guard Anete Vorma (165-89) added 17 points respectively for Latvijas Universitate in the defeat. Latvijas Universitate's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. The victory was the third consecutive win for Liepajas. They maintain fourth place with 8-4 record. Loser Latvijas Universitate keeps the ninth position with nine games lost. Liepajas will meet TTT Juniores (#6) in the next round. They dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Kolibri/U-16's 30 and made 17-of-18 charity shots (94.4 percent) during the game. Cesis forced 33 Kolibri/U-16 turnovers and outrebounded them 44-26 including a 19-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists comparing to just 4 passes made by Kolibri/U-16's players. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 74-47. TTT Juniores dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Kolibri/U-16's 30. TTT Juniores forced 22 Kolibri/U-16 turnovers and had a 30-18 advantage in offensive rebounds. Latvia to miss Sabine Niedola (184-F-91) in France at Eurobakset 2013. The Latvian player will be out of action for six months with a torn ACL.

In 2010/11, Niedola was a member of French Nantes. Sabine Niedola is active member of the Latvian NT since 2009. She had 7.3 ppg and 4.9 rpg for 8 game in 2013 EuroBasket qualifications. A year ago she had 4.7 ppg and 3.7 rpg for 9 games at the EuroBasket in Poland. Niedola shined with Latvian youth National Teams in the past.
