Rozenberga's double-double lands her Player of the Week award - Jan 27, 2013

  follow us on Facebook Twitter

20-year old forward Dita Rozenberga (181-F-92) had an amazing evening in the last round for second-ranked TTT Riga and receives a Player of the Week award for round 16.
She had a double-double of 24 points and 16 rebounds, while her team outclassed Kolibri/U-16 (#9, 3-11) with 81-point margin 117-36. TTT Riga maintains the 2nd position in Latvian LSBL. They are still close to the very top. TTT Riga would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 13-2 record. Rozenberga turned to be TTT Riga's top player in her first season with the team. Rozenberga has impressive league stats. She is in league's top in points (2nd best: 19.3ppg) and averages solid 2.9spg and 59.0% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Oksana Miil (172-G-86) of Tallina U.. She is Estonian guard in her first season at Tallina U.. In the last game Miil recorded impressive 28 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Of course she lead Tallina U. to another comfortable win outscoring slightly higher-ranked TTT Juniores (#6, 6-8) 95-54. Tallina U.'s 7th position in the standings has not changed. Her team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 6-7 record. Miil is a newcomer at Tallina U. and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Kerli Haas (180-F-90) of Rapla KK (#10). Haas scored 29 points and grabbed thirteen rebounds (!!!). She was a key player of Rapla KK, leading her team to a 68-58 win against the higher-ranked TTT Juniores (#6, 6-8). Rapla KK can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 3-11 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Haas she does not play for a better team. But maybe if she did, her season stats would not be that high. Haas has individually a great season in Latvia. After 14 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 18.7ppg (4th best) and rebounds with 7.9rpg (9th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Kerttu Jallai (180-F-90) of Tallina U. - 23 points, 13 rebounds and 2 assists
5. Dita Rozenberga (181-F-92) of TTT Riga - 22 points and 10 rebounds
6. Dita Rozenberga (181-F-92) of TTT Riga - 15 points, 20 rebounds and 3 assists
7. Pirgit Puu (168-G-88) of Tallina U. - 20 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists
8. Kaia Kosk (177-F-89) of Rapla KK - 24 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists
9. Asnate Fomina (176-G-94) of RTU-Merks - 17 points, 8 rebounds and 10 assists
10. Annika Koster (185-F/C-92) of Eclex Tallinn - 18 points and 16 rebounds

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
