There were many interesting games last round. The round ended with derby games, favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin.

The most exciting game of round 10 in the LBL2 took place in Limbazi. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 8th ranked Limbazi (5-10) to seventh ranked Ogre/Kumho Tyre (7-7) 74-71 in the game for the seventh place. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 74-71. Guard Sandis Bets (194-92) fired a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds for the winners. Guard Raimonds Pabrieza (189-88) chipped in 16 points. point guard Armands Osins (190-91) produced 22 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. Ogre/Kumho Tyre maintains seventh position with 7-7 record. Limbazi lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with ten games lost. Ogre/Kumho Tyre will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Limbazi will play at home against RTU (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Very important is a road loss of third ranked ViA (11-3) against fourth ranked Jelgava (11-4) on Friday night. Visiting ViA was defeated by Jelgava in Jelgava 92-79. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of ViA. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Edgars Krumins (194-86) who helped to win the game recording 16 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Gatis Justovics contributed with 10 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists and 8 steals for the winners. Jelgava's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Center Reinis Ermansons (197-96) replied with 21 points and 8 rebounds for ViA. Jelgava have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 11-4 record. ViA at the other side keeps the third place with three games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
Undefeated leader Turiba delivered the fifteenth consecutive victory on Saturday night. This time they crushed 10th ranked Saldus (3-14) 111-64. Rihards Adins scored 16 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners. Turiba's coach Ziedonis Jansons felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Kaspars Baumanis responded with 19 points and 4 assists. Undefeated Turiba (15-0) have an impressive 15-game winning streak. They maintain first position with a perfect record of 15 victories in a row. Loser Saldus keep the tenth place with 14 games lost. Turiba will meet RSU (#6) in the next round where they are favorite. Saldus will have a break next round.

Turiba's next round opponent will be RSU (#6) in Riga where they are favorite. Limbazi will play at home against RTU and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Ninth-ranked RTU (3-11) made lots of trouble for sixth ranked Marupe (9-7) in Riga on Friday. The visitors managed to secure only two-point victory 75-73. However their fans expected easier game. Roberts Paze fired 9 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Marupe's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Marupe moved-up to fifth place. RTU lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with 11 games lost. Marupe's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Riga to the arena .

Rest of the games of round 10 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Kekava defeated Gulbenes Buki in a road game 66-55. RSU beat Livani at home 76-71. VeA won against Jekabpils II on the opponent's court 80-65. DSN/SB managed to outperform Valmiera/ORDO-2 in a home game 102-87. Madona rolled over Riga/Ridzene on the road 90-61.

Gulbenes Buki - Kekava 55-66

There was no surprise in Riga where 11th ranked Gulbenes Buki (1-13) was defeated by second ranked Kekava (14-1) 66-55 on Saturday. Gulbenes Buki was trailing by 5 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 23-11 charge of Kekava, which allowed them to win the game. Gulbenes Buki was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Guard Modris Gundegs (183-95) fired 18 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Forward Niks Saknitis (203-92) chipped in 21 points and 7 rebounds. Center Roberts Mednis (205-89) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds and American point guard Michael Panaggio (183, college: Lander) added 8 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Gulbenes Buki's coach Arturs Brunins rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Kekava have a solid three-game winning streak. Newly promoted Kekava maintains second position with 14-1 record having just seven point less than leader Turiba. Gulbenes Buki lost sixth consecutive game. They dropped to the twelfth place with 13 games lost. Kekava will face RSU (#6) in Riga in the next round.

Turiba - Saldus 111-64

Undefeated leader Turiba delivered the fifteenth consecutive victory on Saturday night. This time they crushed 10th ranked Saldus (3-14) 111-64. The game without a history. Turiba led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Saldus' 20. Turiba forced 22 Saldus turnovers and outrebounded them 45-15 including a 33-10 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 53.8 percentage. Turiba looked well-organized offensively handing out 35 assists comparing to just 19 passes made by Saldus' players. Power forward Rihards Adins (200-94) scored 16 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Arnis Ate (182-94) chipped in 24 points during the contest. Four Turiba players scored in double figures. Turiba's coach Ziedonis Jansons felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. No shocking result in a game in Riga where sixth ranked RSU (8-6) defeated 11th ranked Livani (1-12) 76-71 on Thursday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Livani won third quarter 20-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Strangely Livani outrebounded RSU 49-32 including 38 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Livani was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Rihards Ginters (192-93) fired a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Guard Aleksis Valts Putnins (190-94) chipped in a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 assists. Four RSU players scored in double figures. Guard Daumants Pabrieza (183-87) produced 18 points and 7 rebounds and forward Aigars Strelis (200-87) added 9 points and 13 rebounds respectively for lost side. RSU maintains sixth position with 8-6 record. Loser Livani keeps the eleventh place with 12 games lost. RSU will face league's leader Turiba at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.

Jekabpils II - VeA 65-80

Very expected game when 19th ranked Jekabpils II (3-8) was defeated at home by top-ranked Ventspils Augstskola (11-0) 80-65 on Thursday. The game was mostly controlled by Ventspils Augstskola. Jekabpils II was better in second period 18-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Ventspils Augstskola won last quarter 28-15. They also forced 22 Jekabpils II turnovers. Belarusian power forward Denis Vikentsyeu (203-98) fired a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Belarusian guard Vlad Mikulskiy (192-98) chipped in 25 points and 9 rebounds. Rather predictable result in Riga where fourteenth ranked DSN/SB (7-3) beat 18th ranked Valmiera/ORDO-2 (4-5) 102-87 on Thursday. The game was mostly controlled by DSN/SB. Valmiera/ORDO-2 was better in second period 30-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. DSN/SB looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when DSN/SB made 9 blocks. Forward Janis Gertners (206-99) fired a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 6 blocks for the winners. Guard Niks Salenieks (180-0) chipped in 8 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists. Undefeated leader Turiba recorded the fifteenth consecutive victory. This time they crushed 8th ranked Limbazi (5-10) 101-52. The game without a history. Turiba led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Limbazi to just 7 points in third quarter. Turiba dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Limbazi's 34. They outrebounded Limbazi 47-23 including a 15-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Turiba players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Limbazi's players. Point guard Elvis Endzels (188-94) notched 12 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the effort and swingman Davids Muiznieks (196-94) supported him with 20 points. Four Turiba players scored in double figures. Coach Ziedonis Jansons's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Power forward Arturs Skute (202-86) chipped in 23 points and 9 rebounds. Barrett is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Madona had such big advantage that coach Agnis Bekeris felt comfortable to give the chance to play for 10 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Point guard Gustavs Karlis Kampuss (180-99) produced 30 points and 8 rebounds and forward Roberts Kartenko (194-99) added 7 points respectively for lost side. Madona have an impressive six-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifteenth place, which they share with VEF skola. Riga/Ridzene lost fourth consecutive game. Riga/Ridzene at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the twentieth position with eight games lost. Madona will have a break next round.
