BK Ogre (#8) forced the game against Jurmala (#5) into an overtime, but lost by four points 84-88 on Saturday night. The game took place in Ogre. But the guests from Jurmala were better at the end. It was a good game for Arturs Duselis who led his team to a victory with 19 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Jurmala maintains fifth place with 10-12 record. BK Ogre at the other side keeps the eighth position with 12 games lost. Jurmala will face Liepaja/Triobet (#6) at home in the next round. BK Ogre will play against Latvijas Universitate in Riga and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

The most impressive performance of 21th round was 19 points and 10 assists by Abdul Gaddy of VEF Riga.

Valka/Valga - VEF Riga 75-112

No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked VEF Riga (10-2) crushed on the road bottom-ranked Valka/Valga (3-11) 112-75 on Wednesday. The game without a history. VEF Riga led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Valka/Valga's 32. They outrebounded Valka/Valga 35-22 including a 26-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. VEF Riga shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 59.1 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists. Valka/Valga was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American guard Abdul Gaddy (190-92, college: Washington) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 assists. His fellow American import guard Kris Richard (196-89, college: Tulane) contributed with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Richard is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five VEF Riga players scored in double figures. VEF Riga's coach Janis Gailitis felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Sandis Silavs (194-88) answered with 18 points and 6 assists and guard Reinis Strupovics (190-87) added 19 points and 4 assists in the effort for Valka/Valga. VEF Riga moved-up to fourth place. Valka/Valga lost seventh consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 11 games lost. VEF Riga will face league's second-placed Valmiera on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Valka/Valga will play against Jekabpils (#3) and hope to win that game.

Liepaja/Triobet looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Barons Riga was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American guard Malcolm Griffin (193-91, college: Fresno Pacific, agency: Promotex) who led his team to a victory with 19 points and 4 assists. But Jekabpils won second period 23-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Ventspils dominated on the defensive end, holding Jekabpils to just 5 points in first quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 40 of its points in the paint compared to Jekabpils' 18. It was a good game for forward Maris Gulbis (200-85, agency: Players Group) who led his team to a victory with 13 points and 7 rebounds. The former international power forward Rolandas Zakis (206-87) contributed with 9 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Ventspils' coach Karlis Muiznieks used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
