LBL2 top team - Turiba (16-0) had no problems winning another game on Thursday. This time they crushed sixth ranked RSU (8-7) in Riga 82-53. The game without a history. Turiba led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding RSU to just 2 points in first quarter. Turiba forced 23 RSU turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by RSU's players. Point guard Elvis Endzels (188-94) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists. Power forward Rihards Adins (200-94) contributed with 13 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Turiba's coach Ziedonis Jansons felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Aleksis-Valts Putnins (190-94) answered with 19 points for RSU. Undefeated Turiba have an impressive series of sixteen victories in a row. They maintain first place with 16-0 record. RSU at the other side keeps the sixth position with seven games lost. Turiba are looking forward to face ViA (#3) in Valmiera in the next round, which may be the game of the day. RSU will play on the road against Ogre/Kumho Tyre and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Leader Ventspils Augstskola blasted bottom-ranked BJBS Riga (0-9) in Ventspils 96-44 keeping the perfect record after 11 rounds. BJBS Riga is still unable to win any game. It was a great evening for forward Kristaps Kilps (189-1) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds. Denis Vikentsyeu helped adding 18 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks. Guard Ingus Lapans (196-98) responded with 17 points and 6 rebounds. The victory was the tenth consecutive win for Ventspils Augstskola. They maintain thirteenth place with 12-0 record. BJBS Riga lost their seventh game in a row. They still close the standings with nine games lost. Ventspils Augstskola will play against DSN/SB (#14) in Riga in the next round. BJBS Riga's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Riga VEF skola.
A very close game took place in Limbazi between RTU and Limbazi. Ninth ranked RTU (4-11) got a very close victory on the road over 8th ranked Limbazi (5-11). RTU managed to escape with a 1-point win 83-82 on Wednesday evening. It was an exceptional evening for Martins Berzins who led the winners and scored 26 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. RTU's coach Dainis Bertans used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Armands Osins came up with 26 points and 5 assists for Limbazi in the defeat. RTU maintains ninth place with 4-11 record. Limbazi lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the eighth position with 11 games lost. RTU will meet league's second-placed Kekava in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Limbazi will play against Gulbenes Buki (#12) in Riga and hope to secure a win.

In the last two games of round 11 Riga/Ridzene was smashed by Valmiera/ORDO-2 on the road 96-71. Jekabpils II was destroyed by DSN/SB on its own court 64-98.

RSU - Turiba 53-82

Ventspils Augstskola forced 24 BJBS Riga turnovers and outrebounded them 54-35 including 41 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by BJBS Riga's players. A very close game took place in Limbazi between RTU and Limbazi. Ninth ranked RTU (4-11) got a very close victory on the road over 8th ranked Limbazi (5-11). However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was an exceptional evening for guard Edgars Barbejs (182-97) who led the winners and scored 18 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists.
