There was no lack of excitement in the last round games. The round ended with loss of the undefeated team, derby games and favorites losing the games.

The most surprising game was the first loss of Ventspils Augstskola (13-1) on the court of eighteenth ranked LU/BS Riga on Sunday night. Visitors were rolled over by LU/BS Riga 92-57. The game without a history. LU/BS Riga led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Ventspils Augstskola's 36. LU/BS Riga had a 32-18 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Ventspils Augstskola's players. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Davis Klegeris (184-97) who helped to win the game recording 28 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and center Davids Ozolins (201-98) who added 22 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was forward Kristaps Kilps (189-1) with 14 points and 5 rebounds. Ventspils Augstskola's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. LU/BS Riga have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixteenth place. Ventspils Augstskola at the other side keeps the thirteenth position with one game lost. LU/BS Riga are looking forward to face Jekabpils II (#19) at home in the next round. Ventspils Augstskola will have a break next round.
The game between Top Four teams took place in Turiba. Top-ranked host Turiba (17-0) defeated 4th ranked ViA (12-4) 94-76. The winners were led by point guard Elvis Endzels (188-94) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 24 points, 6 rebounds and 17 assists and Rihards Adins supported him with 18 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Turiba's coach Ziedonis Jansons used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 23 points and 4 assists by center Reinis Ermansons (197-96) did not help to save the game for ViA. Undefeated Turiba have an impressive 17-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 17-0 record. ViA at the other side keeps the fourth place with four games lost. Turiba will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. ViA will play at home against Livani (#11) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
Bottom-ranked BJBS Riga (0-10) is still winless. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their tenth consecutive match to fifteenth ranked VEF skola (8-4) 88-75 on Sunday evening. The best player for the winners was Oskars Hlebovickis who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds. VEF skola's coach let to play all 12 players and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was Aivars Dambis who recorded 19 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals. VEF skola have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with DSN/SB. Loser BJBS Riga still closes the standings with ten games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
The game in Ogre supposed to be also worth to mention about. 6th ranked RSU (8-8) played at the court of seventh ranked Ogre/Kumho Tyre (8-8). Ogre/Kumho Tyre smashed RSU 85-60. It was a good game for Sandis Bets who led his team to a victory with 24 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Ogre/Kumho Tyre moved-up to sixth place, which they share with defeated RSU. Ogre/Kumho Tyre will have a break next round.
An interesting game took place in Saldus where 7th ranked Ogre/Kumho Tyre (8-8) was upset on the court of tenth ranked Saldus (4-14) 80-68 on Friday. Worth to mention a great performance of Edgars Buikis who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 8 assists. Saldus' coach Edgars Buikis used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Saldus maintains tenth position with 4-14 record. Loser Ogre/Kumho Tyre dropped to the sixth place with eight games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

There were no shocking results in the other games in round 12: DSN/SB lost to VeA on the opponent's court 65-82. Jelgava managed to outperform Gulbenes Buki in a home game 94-84. Jekabpils II was rolled over VEF skola on the road 98-71. ViA defeated Marupe on its own court 70-64. Jelgava smashed Livani in a road game 96-76. Kekava won against RTU at home 75-67. Madona unfortunately lost to Valmiera/ORDO-2 on the opponent's court 90-98.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 15 points and 11 rebounds by Davids Viksne of Valmiera/ORDO-2.

Ogre/Kumho Tyre - RSU 85-60

The game in Ogre supposed to be also worth to mention about. 6th ranked RSU (8-8) played at the court of seventh ranked Ogre/Kumho Tyre (8-8). Ogre/Kumho Tyre smashed RSU 85-60. The game was mostly controlled by Ogre/Kumho Tyre. RSU was better in fourth quarter 20-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Ogre/Kumho Tyre had a 35-24 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. It was a good game for guard Sandis Bets (194-92) who led his team to a victory with 24 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Power forward Janis Lasmanis (199-87) contributed with 15 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Guard Toms Skipars (185-96) replied with 15 points and 6 rebounds and guard Aleksis-Valts Putnins (190-94) added 7 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists in the effort for RSU. There was no surprise when 11th ranked Livani (1-13) was outplayed at home by fourth ranked Jelgava (13-4) 96-76 on Friday. The game without a history. Jelgava led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 24-of-26 free shots (92.3 percent) during the game. Jelgava looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Livani was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of center Ronalds Elksnis (203-92, college: John Brown) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and swingman Edgars Krumins (194-86) who added 13 points, 8 rebounds and 10 assists during the contest. Four Jelgava players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was forward Eduards Viksna (198-93) with 18 points and 6 rebounds (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) and guard Daumants Pabrieza (183-87) scored 17 points and 5 rebounds.
