The games at this stage are more interesting as they can be crucial for the final standings in Regular Season. Despite we already know who is stronger and who is weaker, there may be still last minute surprises and upsets.

An interesting game for Ventspils (24-2) which hosted in Ventspils second-best Valmiera (18-10). First ranked Ventspils managed to get a 5-point victory 89-84. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Valmiera. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 26-18 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Ventspils made 25-of-31 free shots (80.6 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Valmiera turnovers. 28 personal fouls committed by Valmiera helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for Lithuanian forward Edgaras Zelionis (207-89) who led his team to a victory with 14 points and 6 rebounds. The former international forward Kristaps Janicenoks (196-83) contributed with 15 points for the winners. American-Israeli center Dor Fischer (211-81, college: W.Virginia) answered with 17 points and 8 rebounds for Valmiera. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Ventspils have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They maintain first place with 24-2 record. Defending champion Valmiera keeps the second position with ten games lost. Ventspils are looking forward to face Latvijas Universitate (#9) in Riga in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Valmiera will play at home against Jurmala (#7) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
The game in Ogre was also worth to mention about. Sixth ranked Liepaja/Triobet (13-15) played at the court of 8th ranked BK Ogre (11-17). Liepaja/Triobet defeated BK Ogre 87-77.
