   #1. This week's number one is an international shooting guard Dairis Bertans (194-89, currently plays in Turkey). He was the major contributor in Darussafaka's victory against the tenth-ranked Yesilgiresun Bld (9-16) 87-77 in the Turkish BSL in Monday night's game. Bertans recorded 18 points in 26 minutes on the court. Darussafaka Dogus Istanbul (18-7) is placed fourth in the BSL. It was his team's fifth consecutive victory in a row. This year Bertans averages: 8.6ppg, 1.4rpg, 2.4apg, 2FGP: 44.4%, 3FGP: 36.5% and FT: 86.8% in 17 games he played so far. He is currently a member of the Latvian senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to an international point guard Janis Strelnieks (191-89, currently plays in Germany). Strelnieks led Brose Baskets to a victory over the closely-ranked BBC Bayreuth (19-8) 83-65 in the German BBL last Sunday. He was MVP of the game. Strelnieks scored 17 points and added 3 assists. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Brose Baskets Bamberg (25-3) is placed second in the BBL. There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Strelnieks has relatively good stats this season: 10.2ppg, 2.3rpg, 3.5apg, 2FGP: 62.7%(32-51), 3FGP: 42.5% and FT: 82.4%. He is in the roster of the Latvian senior national team.

   #3. The Latvian player who performed third best last week abroad was an international swingman Zanis Peiners (203-90, currently plays in Greece). Peiners contributed to PAOK's victory against the 11th-ranked Koroivos (8-18) 75-66 in the Greek A1 on Saturday night. He recorded 14 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists in 29 minutes. PAOK Thessaloniki (14-12) is placed fifth in the A1. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. This year Peiners has relatively solid stats: 11.3ppg, 3.5rpg, 1.6apg, 2FGP: 57.3%(63-110), 3FGP: 29.4% and FT: 76.8% in 23 games. He is also a member of the Latvian senior national team.

   #4. Forward Davis Bertans (208-92, currently plays in NBA) contributed to a San Antonio Spurs' victory against the Dallas Mavericks (33-49) 102-89 in the NBA in Friday night's game. Bertans scored 19 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. The San Antonio Spurs have a solid 61-21 record this season. There are only four games left until the end of the NBA Regular Season. So now every game will be important. It's Bertans' first year with the team. His overall stats this season are: 4.6ppg and 1.5rpg. Bertans is also Latvian national team player.

Pasecniks recorded only 4 points and blocked 4 shots in 18 minutes. Gran Canaria lost 72-86 on the road to the much lower-ranked (#13) Joventut. They ended the series of eight consecutive victories. This year Pasecniks' overall stats are: 7.6ppg and 3.3rpg in 27 games. He plays currently for the Latvian national team.

Small forward Janis Timma (201-92, currently plays in VTB United League) managed to help Zenit Saint Petersburg to win against the closely-ranked Khimki (17-5) 74-66 in the VTB United League on Sunday night. Timma recorded only 4 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. Zenit Saint Petersburg (19-3) is placed second in group A. It was his team's 13th consecutive victory in a row. There are only two games left until the end of the VTB United League Regular Season. So now every game will be extremely important. Timma has reliable stats this season: 13.6ppg, 4.0rpg, 2.6apg and 1.3spg. He is an international player who is currently on the senior Latvian National Team roster.

International power forward Rolands Freimanis (208-88, agency: Alti Sport, currently plays in Turkey) was not able to help Usak Sportlif in their game against Demir IBB (8-17) in the Turkish BSL. Freimanis recorded 8 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 28 minutes. Usak Sportlif was badly defeated 103-87 in Buyukcekmece by the higher-ranked (#12) Demir IBB. It was Usak Sportlif's third consecutive loss in a row. Freimanis' stats this year are: 12.5ppg, 4.9rpg and 1.1apg in 25 games. He is also Latvian national team player.

Power forward Ojars Silins (203-93, currently plays in FIBA Europe Cup) was not able to secure a victory for Telekom Baskets (5-1) in their game against JSF Nanterre (4-2) in the FIBA Europe Cup. Silins scored 5 points. The first-placed Telekom Baskets (5-1) was defeated 86-81 in Nanterre by the second-ranked JSF Nanterre in the group M of FIBA Europe Cup. It's Silins' first season with the team. His total stats this year are: 9.6ppg, 2.4rpg and 1.1apg. Silins plays currently for the Latvian national team.

   #9. International guard Davis Lejasmeiers (192-91, currently plays in Sweden) couldn't help Sodertalje Kings (23-9) in their last game. Despite his good performance Sodertalje Kings lost 83-90 in Jamtland to the lower-ranked (#6) KFUM. Lejasmeiers recorded 14 points and added 9 passes in 30 minutes. Lejasmeiers averaged so far 11.2ppg, 2.8rpg and 4.2apg in 37 games. He is also in the roster of the Latvian national team.

   #10. Guard Kristaps Kanbergs (189-88, currently plays in Estonia) couldn't help Valga (12-20) in their game against Rapla (20-12) in the Estonian Alexela KML. Despite his good performance in Thursday night's game Kanbergs was the top scorer with 12 points. He also added 5 rebounds. Kanbergs' total stats this season are: 8.5ppg, 3.8rpg, 2.2apg and 1.1spg. He is a former U20 international player as nine years ago he still played for the Latvian national team.

   #11. Former international forward Ernests Kalve (200-87, agency: HMS, currently plays in Romania) couldn't help Targu Mures in their game against CSU Sibiu in the Romanian Liga Nationala, despite his good performance last Wednesday. Kalve recorded 12 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 28 minutes. But his team lost 66-76. Kalve averaged so far 11.1ppg and 5.0rpg in 24 games. He used to play for the Latvian national team seven years ago.

   #12. Former U20 international small forward Ivars Rihards Zvigurs (198-95, currently plays in Estonia) is a teammate of previously mentioned Kristaps Kanbergs and both played together in the last Estonian Alexela KML game. Zvigurs couldn't help Valga in their game against Rapla. Despite his good performance on Thursday night He scored 11 points. Zvigurs averaged so far 14.4ppg, 5.7rpg, 1.9apg and 1.5spg. He used to play for the Latvian U20 national team back in 2015.

   #13. U20 international forward Verners Kohs (203-97, currently plays in Czech Republic) was the main contributor in a GBA Sparta's victory against the fourth-ranked Novy Jicin crushing them 91-71 in the Czech Republic 1Liga (second division) in Sunday night's game. Kohs was the best player in that game. He recorded 25 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists in 30 minutes. Kohs averaged so far 12.6ppg and 4.1rpg in 20 games. He is also Latvian U20 national team player.

   #14. Former international small forward Rihards Kuksiks (197-88, also represented by HMS, college: Arizona St., currently plays in France) helped Nantes win their game against the closely-ranked Lille Metropole 75-66 in the French ProB (second division) last Friday. Kuksiks scored 7 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Kuksiks' total stats this season are: 9.6ppg and 3.0rpg. He used to play for the Latvian national team back in 2013.

   #15. Former U20 international guard Sandis Silavs (194-88, currently plays in Estonia) is a teammate of previously mentioned Kristaps Kanbergs. But that was another game of his team in Estonian Alexela KML which we would like to mention. Silavs couldn't help Valga in their game against Rapla. He recorded 5 points in 21 minutes. His team was crushed by 21 points 92-71. This year Silavs' total stats are: 9.8ppg, 2.8rpg and 3.0apg in 28 games. He used to play for the Latvian U20 national team nine years ago.

Ourense Termal (LEB Gold) added to their roster 20-year old Latvian forward Verners Kohs (203-74kg-97) on loan from Obradoiro. The last season Kohs played at GBA Sparta in Czech Republic 1Liga where in 21 games he recorded 13.0ppg and 4.3rpg. He was voted All-Adidas Eurocamp in Treviso (Italy) 1st Team in 2017. Nevezis Kedainiai (LKL) added to their roster 24-year old Latvian small forward Roberts Stumbris (199-98kg-93). He played last season at BK Jekabpils in Latvian LBL league. In 32 games he had 14.1ppg, 5.8rpg and 1.5apg. A very spectacular season in his career as he was named to All-Latvian League Honorable Mention and to the All-Star Game. Damier Pitts (ex Valmiera) signs at Kataja Basket - 1 day ago
Defending champion Joensuun Kataja Basket (Korisliiga) landed 28-year old American point guard Damier Pitts (177-80kg-89, college: Marshall, agency: Inception Sports). He played most recently at Valmiera/ORDO in Latvian LBL league. In 38 games he averaged 14.9ppg, 2.8rpg, 5.7apg and 1.5spg last season. Pitts helped them to make it to the semifinals.
