The Second Stage in NKL just ended. There were many interesting games last round. The round ended with defeat of the leader, favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin.

Top ranked LKKA-Atletas (22-12) recorded its twelfth loss in Kaunas on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by third ranked Nafta Universitetas (22-12) 89-79. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in . The guests trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 53-39 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Center Arturas Gudaitis (208-C-93) fired 28 points for the winners. Guard Modestas Kumpys (191-91) chipped in 19 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Guard Darius Gricius (195-86) produced 22 points for lost side. Nafta Universitetas moved-up to second place in Group A.
The game in Jonava was also worth to mention about. Fourth ranked Delikatesas (21-13) played at the court of 5th ranked Triobet (19-15). Delikatesas managed to secure a 8-point victory 85-77. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Vidmantas Uzkuraitis (189-85) who helped to win the game recording 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Mindaugas Keras contributed with 14 points and 11 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots) for the winners. Power forward Rokas Cepanonis (207-89) replied with 20 points and 8 rebounds for Triobet. Triobet's coach Kestutis Narusevicius rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Delikatesas maintains fourth position in with 21-13 record. Triobet at the other side keeps the fifth place with 15 games lost.
The game in Mazeikiai was also quite interesting. 6th ranked Matinga-Juod. (18-15) played at the court of eighth ranked Mazeikiai (19-15). Mazeikiai defeated Matinga-Juod. 78-62 on Saturday. Worth to mention a great performance of Parrish Brown who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 4 assists. At the losing side Aurimas Birgelis responded with 25 points. Mazeikiai moved-up to sixth place in . Newly promoted Matinga-Juod. dropped to the eighth position with 15 games lost.
A very interesting game took place in Silute. It ended with only three-point home defeat of 14th ranked Silute (12-22) to twelfth ranked Perlas-MRU (16-18) 78-75 on Saturday evening. The winners were led by Gintautas Vileita who scored that evening 20 points and 4 steals. Perlas-MRU's coach Mindaugas Sakalauskas allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Perlas-MRU moved-up to eleventh place in . Silute at the other side keeps the fourteenth position with 22 games lost.
We should mention about the upset which took place in Gargzdai, where higher ranked S.Marciulionio (15-19) lost to fifteenth ranked Gargzdai-Bremena (9-25) in a road game 90-99 on Saturday. Tadas Mazelis fired 22 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Newly promoted Gargzdai-Bremena maintains fifteenth position in with 9-25 record. Loser S.Marciulionio dropped to the twelfth place with 19 games lost.

In the last two games of round 4 Ezerunas-Karys was defeated by Statyba in Vilnius 78-72. Bottom-ranked ABRO-Univ. was beaten by Meresta at home 72-85.
The best stats of 4th round was 20 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists by Klym Artamonov of Meresta.

Triobet - Delikatesas 77-85

The game in Jonava was also worth to mention about. Fourth ranked Delikatesas (21-13) played at the court of 5th ranked Triobet (19-15). Delikatesas managed to secure a 8-point victory 85-77. The guests were ahead by 9 points but lost the second period ending it with a 4-point deficit before their 27-15 run, which allowed them to win the game. Delikatesas outrebounded Triobet 40-29 including 26 on the defensive glass. Triobet was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Vidmantas Uzkuraitis (189-85) who helped to win the game recording 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. The hosts trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 33-18 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Forward Darius Tarvydas (200-91) fired 24 points for the winners. Swingman Tadas Rinkunas (195-91) chipped in 20 points. Statyba's coach Gintautas Regina used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. ABRO-Universitetas was better in third quarter 27-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Meresta dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to ABRO-Universitetas' 36.
