Tough, tough decisions to make for this year All-LMKL awards. Gintare Petronyte of Kibirkstis-Tiche was definitely #1 player in the league despite her team lost to VICI Aistes twice in the cup and then in the LMKL finals. This year we had an abundance of quality centers, who should make it to the 1st team. We decided to add there Kristina Alminaite and Gintare Petronyte, while Kristina Vengryte made it to the 2nd team. We decided also (similarly to previous seasons) to combine Imports and Bosmans into one category dues to fact that there are traditionally not that many import players in the league.

Lithuania shock Belarus in Zloty Sokol opener. The Lithuanian team celebrated an easy 57:38 win at the International Tournament in Poland.

Moreover the Baltic side added a 15-8 surge in the third period for a bigger lead. Belarus managed to score only 4 points in the last quarter and failed with 19 points difference. Marina Solopova and Inesa Visgaudaite (172-PG-91) top-scored for the winners with 10 points each. Giedre Paugaite (192-C-90) nailed 9, while Kristina Alminaite (205-C-90) scored 7. In another game Poland needs two overtimes to beat Ukraine in Day 1 of the international Tournament Zloty Sokol. The hosts of the tournament grabbed an 87:83 win over Ukraine in their opener. Tomorrow Ukraine will take on Belarus, while Poland will play against Lithuania.

Egle Sulciute tastes the title in Spain as her Perfumerias Avenida clinched the LFB title after a year pause. They swept the championship series against Rivas Ecopolis to retain the title they lost to Ros Casares last season.

Rivas Ecopolis maintained the lead throughout the second quarter. Moreover the visitors piled up a 38:24 halftime advantage. Avenida stopped the rot in the third term. The hosts narrowed the deficit and trailed by just 10 points heading into the fourth stanza. The hosts used a 10:3 rally midway through the final frame to narrow the deficit at 2-point mark 57:59. Currie and Marta Xargay Casademont put Avenida within one with just over a minute remaining 62:63. Olexandra Kurasova drained a triple to give Rivas Ecopolis space for manoeuvre. However Salciute responded with a treble of her own to bring Avenida within one again 65:66. The teams exchanged misses before Le'Coe Willingham got fouled with just two seconds remaining. She calmly sank both free throws and brought Avenida to the historic victory. Le'Coe Willingham, Marta Xargay Casademont and Egle Sulciute finished with 12 points each for the winners. Currie added 11 points for Avenida. Olexandra Kurasova answered with 17 points for Rivas Ecopolis. Anna Vadja netted 12 points in the loss. Egle Sulciute joined Perfumerias Avenida Salamanca (Spain-LFB, starting five) in the beginning of the season. In Euroleague her stats read 10.4ppg, 4.6rpg, 1.7apg, FGP: 49.3%, 3PT: 36.2%, FT-1. In Spanish League her stats read 8.4 points per game.
