The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Mazeikiai as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Mazeikiai smashed 18th ranked Gargzdai-Bremena at home 73-46. Mazeikiai dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Gargzdai-Bremena's 28. Mazeikiai forced 21 Gargzdai-Bremena turnovers. Forward Osvaldas Macernis (196-82) fired a double-double by scoring 22 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners. Rokas Giedraitis (198-92) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Donatas Tarolis (201-94) produced 11 points and 9 rebounds for lost side. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Gargzdai-Bremena lost sixth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 12 games lost. Gargzdai-Bremena will play next round against Triobet trying to get back on the winning streak. Mazeikiai will try to continue on its current victory against seventh ranked Olimpas on the road.
Top ranked Suduva-Mantinga (9-4) recorded its fourth loss in Marijampole. Hosts were defeated by fifth ranked Dzukija (9-3) 86-75. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Suduva-Mantinga. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Bryan Harrison (188-84, college: Georgia Coll., agency: Global Sports Plaza) who helped to win the game recording 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Giedrius Kurtinaitis contributed with 23 points for the winners. Center Mindaugas Kalvelis (205-80) answered with 20 points and 6 rebounds for Suduva-Mantinga. Suduva-Mantinga's coach Gintautas Zibuda rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Dzukija have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to third place. Suduva-Mantinga at the other side dropped to the fourth position with four games lost. They share it with Statyba. Dzukija will play against Delikatesas (#13) in Joniskis in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Suduva-Mantinga will play against Zanavykas (#9) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
Another exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Vilnius: S.Marciulionio (#8) and Statyba (#2). S.Marciulionio (8-5) won against visiting Statyba (9-4) 99-89. Tomas Rakauskas stepped up with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 assists for the winners. At the losing side Darius Tarvydas responded with 33 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds. S.Marciulionio have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Statyba dropped to the fourth position with four games lost. They share it with Suduva-Mantinga. S.Marciulionio will meet Zalgiris-Sabonio (#6) in the next round. Statyba will play against Radviliskis and hope to secure a win.

Other games of round 13 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Perlas-MRU was defeated by Ezerunas-Karys in Moletai 75-67. Meresta beat Birstono at home 78-70. Zanavykas won against Radviliskis on the opponent's court 81-67. Triobet managed to outperform Silute in a home game 74-66. Olimpas managed to beat Delikatesas on the road 83-79. Nafta Universitetas was crushed by Zalgiris-Sabonio on its own court 74-93.
The best stats of 13th round was 30 points, 11 assists and 4 steals by Edgaras Stanionis of Zanavykas.



Ezerunas-Karys - Perlas-MRU 75-67

There was a minor upset in Moletai where 11th ranked Perlas-MRU (6-7) was defeated by thirteenth ranked Ezerunas-Karys (6-8) 75-67 on Friday. Perlas-MRU was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Guard Marius Kugauda (191-76) stepped up and scored 19 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and forward Remigijus Sugintas (200-87) chipped in 11 points and 8 rebounds. Ezerunas-Karys' coach Mindaugas Kildisius used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side power forward Mantas Virbalas (203-88) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and forward Jonas Elvikis (195-82) scored 15 points and 4 assists. Four Perlas-MRU players scored in double figures. Ezerunas-Karys moved-up to twelfth place. Loser Perlas-MRU keeps the eleventh position with seven games lost. Ezerunas-Karys will meet Silute (#15) on the road in the next round. Perlas-MRU will play against the league's second-placed Meresta (#2) having rather not much hope for a victory.

The hosts trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 9-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 78-70. Meresta made 24-of-31 free shots (77.4 percent) during the game. Meresta outrebounded Birstono 49-28 including a 37-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Guard Tomas Gaidamavicius (191-82) stepped up and scored 6 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners and center Agnius Gurklys (205-88) chipped in 17 points and 9 rebounds. At the losing side Paulius Kleiza (195-88) responded with 18 points and point guard Audrius Ramonaitis (180-92) scored 18 points.
