#1. This week's number one is an international center Jonas Valanciunas (211-92, currently plays in NBA), who plays in the NBA. He could not help the Toronto Raptors (3-13) in their last game. Despite Valanciunas' very good performance the Toronto Raptors lost 106-111 on the road to the San Antonio Spurs.
He was the second best scorer with 22 points. Valanciunas also added 7 boards, handed out 3 passes and blocked 3 shots in 39 minutes on the court.
It was Raptors' sixth consecutive loss in a row.
But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen.
It's Valanciunas' first year with the team.
He has relatively good stats this season: 9.3ppg, 5.8rpg, 1.4apg, 1.2bpg, 2FGP: 51.3% and FT: 76.9% in the 16 games he played so far.
Valanciunas is currently a member of the Lithuanian senior national team.
#2. Second place goes to an international swingman Jonas Maciulis (199-85, currently plays in Euroleague). He contributed to Panathinaikos' victory against the fifth-ranked Un.Olimpija (2-6) 80-72 in the Euroleague last Thursday.
Maciulis scored 10 points and grabbed 7 rebounds.
Panathinaikos Athens (5-3) is placed third in group A.
It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row.
There are only two games left until the end of the Euroleague Regular Season. So now every game will be critical.
It's Maciulis' first season with the team.
This year he has relatively solid stats: 10.3ppg, 4.9rpg, 1.4apg, 2FGP: 55.3%(21-38), 3FGP: 29.4% and FT: 66.7%.
Maciulis is in the roster of the Lithuanian senior national team.
#3. The Lithuanian player who performed third best last week abroad was an international shooting guard Martynas Pocius (196-86, agency: Interperformances, college: Duke, currently plays in Euroleague). He contributed to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Khimky (5-3) crushing them 104-81 in the Euroleague on Friday night.
Pocius recorded 8 points in 16 minutes.
It was the game of the round between two top 2 ranked teams in group A. Real Madrid (5-2) is placed first.
There are only three games left until the end of the Euroleague Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial.
This year Pocius' overall stats are: 3.0ppg, 1.3rpg, 2FGP: 55.6%, 3FGP: 18.2% in the seven games.
He is also a member of the Lithuanian senior national team.
#4. Small forward Linas Kleiza (203-85, college: Missouri, currently plays in NBA) is a teammate of previously mentioned Jonas Valanciunas. But that was another game of his team in NBA which we would like to mention.
Kleiza, who plays in the NBA was not able to help the Toronto Raptors (3-13) in their last game. Despite his good performance the Toronto Raptors were crushed 103-82 in Memphis by the Grizzlies.
Kleiza scored 11 points in 25 minutes.
Kleiza has reliable stats this year: 7.2ppg and 2.9rpg in the 10 games.
He is also Lithuanian national team player.
#5. Former U21 international power forward Valdas Dabkus (204-84, currently plays in Poland) was not able to secure a victory for Energa Czarni (7-3) in their game against Start Gdynia (3-6) in the Polish TBL. Despite his very good performance on Sunday night Dabkus was the second best scorer with 13 points. He also added 9 rebounds.
This season Dabkus averages: 9.2ppg, 6.6rpg and 1.2spg.
He used to play for the Lithuanian U21 national team
nine years ago.
#6. An experienced forward Dainius Salenga (197-77, currently plays in Ukraine) led Budivelnyk to a victory against the closely-ranked Halychyna (9-6) 82-75 in the Ukrainian Superleague in Friday night's game.
Salenga recorded 13 points and added 3 passes in 24 minutes.
Budivelnyk Kyiv (11-4) is placed third in the Superleague.
It was his team's fifth consecutive victory in a row.
This year Salenga's total stats are: 9.4ppg, 3.0rpg, 2.3apg and 1.3spg in the 15 games.
He is a former international player as he played for the Lithuanian senior team seven years ago.
#7. Former international point guard Arvydas Eitutavicius (188-82, college: American, currently plays in Poland) led Anwil to a victory over the third-ranked Trefl Sopot (6-3) 82-69 in the Polish TBL last Sunday.
Eitutavicius was MVP of the game. He scored 20 points.
Anwil Wloclawek (5-4) is placed seventh in the TBL.
It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row.
Eitutavicius has averaged so far 9.7ppg and 1.8apg.
He used to play for the Lithuanian national team

#8. Forward Simonas Serapinas (197-82, currently plays in Eurocup) couldn't help Azovmash (0-4) in their game against Banvit BK (3-1) in the Eurocup, despite his very good performance on Wednesday night.
Serapinas was the second best scorer with 15 points. He also added 4 rebounds in 34 minutes.
But Azovmash lost in an overtime 88-95 at home to the second-ranked Banvit BK.
So far Azovmash lost all four games in the Regular Season.
There are only two games left until the end of the Eurocup Regular Season. So now every game will be important.
Serapinas has averaged so far 5.7ppg, 1.3rpg and 1.3apg in the three games.
He used to play for the Lithuanian national team

#9. International power forward Darius Songaila (204-78, agency: Priority Sports, college: Wake Forest, currently plays in Ukraine) was the major contributor in an overtime BC Donetsk's victory against the 12th-ranked Dnipro (4-11) 80-68 in the Ukrainian Superleague in Friday night's game.
Songaila recorded 15 points, 3 assists and 3 steals.
BC Donetsk (7-7) is placed seventh in the Superleague.
They ended the series of four consecutive loses.
Songaila's stats this season are: 12.9ppg, 5.5rpg, 1.5apg and 1.6spg.
He is also in the roster of the Lithuanian national team.

Jasaitis recorded 7 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists in 34 minutes.
The league leader Lokomotiv was crushed 76-52 in Istanbul by the second-ranked Galatasaray.
It was Lokomotiv's first loss after three consecutive victories.
There are only two games left until the end of the Eurocup Regular Season.
Jasaitis' stats this year are: 12.5ppg, 4.0rpg and 1.5apg in the four games.
He is an international player who is currently on the senior Lithuanian National Team roster.
#11. Former U20 international point guard Evaldas Zabas (188-88, currently plays in Czech Republic) couldn't help BK Pardubice in their game against NH Ostrava in the Czech Republic NBL. Despite his very good performance on Friday night Zabas was the second best scorer with 21 points. He also added 8 rebounds and 4 assists.
Zabas is currently fifth on the list of top scorers.
He has individually a very good season with high stats. Zabas averages: 18.1ppg, 3.6rpg, 3.0apg and 1.3spg.

#12. Former U20 international guard Mantas Cesnauskis (191-81, currently plays in Eurocup) contributed to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Base Oostende crushing them 85-61 in the Eurocup in Wednesday night's game.
Cesnauskis recorded 10 points and added 3 passes in 28 minutes.
He has averaged so far 7.0ppg, 2.0rpg and 3.0apg in the four games.
Cesnauskis used to play for the Lithuanian U20 national team

#13. Former University international center Egidijus Dimsa (205-85, currently plays in Baltic League) contributed to an easy victory against the sixth-ranked Valga crushing them 98-66 in the Baltic League last Friday.
He recorded 11 points.
Dimsa has averaged so far 8.8ppg and 5.1rpg.

#14. Former U20 international forward Donatas Zavackas (203-80, college: Pittsburgh, currently plays in Eurocup) couldn't help VEF Riga in their game against Triumph Lyubertsy in the Eurocup, despite his good performance on Wednesday night.
Zavackas recorded 10 points in 26 minutes.
But his team lost 77-82.
He has averaged so far 5.5ppg and 2.8rpg in the four games.

#15. Former U22 international power forward Arnas Kazlauskas (205-76, agency: Court Side, currently plays in United Kingdom) was the main contributor in a 3-point Worcester Wolves' victory against one of league's weakest teams Sheffield One Health Sharks 71-68 in the British BBL in Saturday night's game.
He was the best player in that game. Kazlauskas scored 20 points and added 5 passes.
He averaged so far 11.2ppg, 3.7rpg, 2.8apg and 1.1spg.
Kazlauskas used to play for the Lithuanian U22 national team

#1. Experienced Christopher Young (206-F/C-79, agency: Court Side, college: Michigan, currently plays in EuroChallenge) led his Belgian team Okapi Aalstar to a victory against the closely-ranked Belfius Mons-Hainaut (2-2) 97-84 in the EuroChallenge in Tuesday night's game.
Young recorded 13 points and grabbed 8 rebounds.
Generali Okapi Aalstar (3-1) is placed second in group E.
There are only two games left until the end of the EuroChallenge Regular Season. So now every game will be critical.
This season Young averages: 8.8ppg and 6.3rpg.
He is a naturalized American.
Strangely Young has never played in Lithuania.
#2.Benas Veikalas (192-G-83, college: Metro St., currently plays in Germany), who plays in the German BBL could not help Telekom Baskets (4-5) in their last game. Despite his good performance Telekom Baskets lost 79-88 on the road to the league outsider (#18) LTi 46ers.
Veikalas recorded 12 points in 30 minutes.
But the season just started, so everything may happen.
Veikalas has averaged so far 9.1ppg, 2.4rpg and 1.3apg in the nine games he played so far.
#3.Arturas Masiulis (210-C-80, currently plays in United Kingdom) was not able to help Worcester Wolves (7-6) in their game against London Lions (6-7) in the British BBL. Despite his very good performance last Friday He was the second best scorer with 18 points. Masiulis also added 6 rebounds.
Masiulis averaged so far 12.2ppg, 7.2rpg and 1.5apg.
#4.Nik Stauskas (198-G-93, currently plays college basketball in the States) contributed to Michigan's victory against the North Carolina State University 79-72 in the NCAA last Tuesday.
He recorded 20 points in 33 minutes.
The University of Michigan has conference record this season.
Stauskas averaged so far 12.2ppg, 7.2rpg and 1.5apg in the 12 games.
He has a dual citizenship: Canadian and Lithuanian.
Despite Stauskas' Lithuanian passport, he currently plays for the Canadian U19 national team and is not eligible to play for the Lithuanian team.
#5.Zygimantas Jonusas (200-F-82, currently plays in Italy) contributed to Juvecaserta's victory against the 14th-ranked VL Pesaro (2-7) 77-63 in the Italian SerieA on Sunday night.
Jonusas scored 7 points and had 4 steals in 23 minutes.
JuveCaserta (4-5) is placed tenth in the SerieA.
But the season is still in it's first stage and everything can happen.
Jonusas has averaged so far 8.9ppg, 4.1rpg, 1.3apg and 1.3spg in the eight games.
#6.Nerijus Brasas (200-F-85, currently plays in Denmark) was not able to secure a victory for Naestved in their game against Bakken in the Danish Ligaen. Despite his good performance on Thursday night He scored 12 points and grabbed 7 rebounds.
Brasas has averaged so far 8.3ppg and 5.0rpg.
#7.Gabas Maldunas (203-F-93, currently studies in the States) couldn't help the Dartmouth in their game against the Indiana Univ-Purdue Univ.-Ft.Wayne in the NCAA, despite his good performance in Saturday night's game.
He recorded 10 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in 25 minutes.
But his team lost 66-70.
Maldunas has averaged so far 8.3ppg and 5.0rpg in the 13 games.
#8.Tomas Janusauskas (213-C-85, agency: Kotnik Sports Agency, currently plays in United Kingdom) was the major contributor in a Reading Rockets' victory against the sixth-ranked Northumbria 68-54 in the British EBL D1 (second division) in Saturday night's game.
He scored 18 points and grabbed 4 rebounds.
Janusauskas averaged so far 14.0ppg and 6.0rpg.

Kasiulevicius is a very experienced player. He has played also professionally in Poland, Denmark (Naestved), Lithuania (Lietkabelis, Vytautas and Palanga) and Kosovo (KB RTV 21 Prishtina). Kasiulevicius attended Trinity Valley CC until 2004 and it will be his 13th (hopefully lucky) (!!!) season in pro basketball.
Koge BK Coyotes (1st Division) strengthened their roster with addition of 22-year old Lithuanian center Aurimas Gavelis (195-94). 34-year old guard David Logan (185-G-82) had an amazing evening in the last round for Lietuvos rytas and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 1. He had the game-high 32 points adding two rebounds and seven assists for Lietuvos rytas in his team's victory, helping them to crush Nevezis (#7, 0-1) with 19-point margin 89-70. Second best performed player last round was Mindaugas Lukauskis (198-G-79) of Lietkabelis. He is former international guard in his first season at Lietkabelis. In the last game Lukauskis recorded impressive 13 points, 3 rebounds and 7 assists. It was enough for Lietkabelis to edge Zalgiris (0-1) by 4 points 90-86. His team has extremely good start of the season. They won their first game. However the season is at the beginning, so everything can happen.
Third place about best performers goes to forward Gytis Sirutavicius (195-F-83) of Juventus. Sirutavicius showcased his all-around game by recording 26 points, six rebounds and four assists in the last round. He was a key player of Juventus, leading his team to a 97-92 win against P.Zvaigzdes (#8, 0-1). Juventus has a very good start of the season. But there was just one game played, so it's too early to judge them at this stage. Sirutavicius also has a very good start of the season with very strong stats. The season just started for Sirutavicius as he played only first game. But it already looks like he can be team's leader.

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc. The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
