Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top performances of Lithuanians who are currently playing abroad.

   #1. This week's number one is an international guard Martynas Gecevicius (193-88, currently plays in Greece). He led Olympiacos to an easy victory against the 11th-ranked Aris (2-6) crushing them 100-65 in the Greek A1 in Monday night's game. Gecevicius scored 14 points in 20 minutes on the court. Olympiacos S.F.P. Pireus (8-0) is placed first in the A1. So far his team won all eight games in the Regular Season. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. This year Gecevicius averages: 8.6ppg, 1.4rpg, 1.4apg, 2FGP: 76.9%, 3FGP: 36.4% and FT: 88.9% in the seven games he played so far. He played for the Lithuanian senior national team one years ago.

   #2. Second place goes to former U20 international forward Donatas Zavackas (203-80, college: Pittsburgh, currently plays in VTB United League). Zavackas led his Latvian team VEF Riga to a victory over the tenth-ranked Tsmoki-Minsk (0-7) crushing them 98-73 in the VTB United League last Saturday. He was MVP of the game. Zavackas recorded 24 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. VEF Riga (5-2) is placed fourth in group B. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. Zavackas has relatively good stats this season: 11.1ppg, 5.4rpg, 1.3apg, 2FGP: 45.0%, 3FGP: 45.7%(16-35) and FT: 75.0%. He played for the Lithuanian U20 national team in 2000.

   #3. The Lithuanian player who performed third best last week abroad was an experienced international point guard Sarunas Jasikevicius (192-76, college: Maryland, currently plays in Euroleague). Jasikevicius contributed to an easy victory against the third-ranked Besiktas (4-5) crushing them 78-48 in the Euroleague on Friday night. He scored 8 points and added 5 passes in 22 minutes. Regal FC Barcelona (9-0) is placed first in group D. So far his team won all nine games in the Regular Season. They will play only one more game in the Euroleague Regular Season. And that game will be critical. It's Jasikevicius' first season with the team. This year Jasikevicius' overall stats are: 3.0ppg, 1.6apg, 2FGP: 63.6%, 3FGP: 16.7% in the nine games. He is also a member of the Lithuanian senior national team.

   #4. Swingman Jonas Maciulis (199-85, currently plays in Euroleague) contributed to Panathinaikos' victory against the sixth-ranked Un.Olimpija (2-6) 80-72 in the Euroleague in Thursday night's game. Maciulis scored 10 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Panathinaikos Athens (5-3) is placed third in group A. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. There are only two games left until the end of the Euroleague Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. This season Maciulis has relatively solid stats: 10.3ppg, 4.9rpg and 1.4apg. He is also Lithuanian national team player.

International shooting guard Martynas Pocius (196-86, agency: Interperformances, college: Duke, currently plays in Spain) contributed to an easy victory against the seventh-ranked CAI Zaragoza (6-4) 94-79 in the Spanish ACB on Sunday night. He recorded 6 points. Real Madrid (10-0) is placed first in the ACB. So far his team won all ten games in the Regular Season. But the season just started, so everything may happen. Pocius' total stats this year are: 7.2ppg, 1.7rpg and 1.1apg. He plays currently for the Lithuanian national team.

   #6. Center Jonas Valanciunas (211-92, currently plays in NBA), who plays in the NBA could not help the Toronto Raptors (4-15) to beat the Denver Nuggets (9-10). Valanciunas recorded 7 points, 4 rebounds and 3 blocks in 23 minutes. The Toronto Raptors were edged 113-110 on the road by the Nuggets. But the season is still in it's first stage and everything can happen. Valanciunas has reliable stats this year: 8.7ppg, 5.5rpg, 1.3apg and 1.3bpg in the 19 games. He is an international player who is currently on the senior Lithuanian National Team roster.

Former international forward Dainius Salenga (197-77, currently plays in Ukraine), who plays in the Ukrainian Superleague was not able to help one of league's weakest teams Budivelnyk (12-5) in their last game on Friday. Despite Salenga's good performance Budivelnyk was defeated 102-98 at home by the leading Ferro-ZNTU. He scored 12 points. Salenga's total stats this season are: 9.5ppg, 3.0rpg, 2.2apg and 1.3spg. He used to play for the Lithuanian national team seven years ago.

   #8. Small forward Simas Jasaitis (202-82, currently plays in VTB United League) contributed to Lokomotiv's victory against the ninth-ranked Neptunas (1-6) 95-83 in the VTB United League on Sunday night. Jasaitis recorded 10 points in 23 minutes. Lokomotiv Kuban (5-2) is placed third in group B. It was his team's fifth consecutive victory in a row. This year Jasaitis' total stats are: 8.9ppg, 3.9rpg and 1.3apg in the seven games. He plays currently for the Lithuanian national team.

   #9. Former University international center Michailis Anisimovas (214-84, currently plays in Eurocup) is a teammate of previously mentioned Dainius Salenga. But that was another game of his team in Eurocup which we would like to mention. Anisimovas was the major contributor in Budivelnyk's victory against the league leader CEZ Nymburk (3-2) 72-62. He scored 9 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Budivelnyk Kyiv (3-2) is placed second in the Eurocup. Anisimovas is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his fourth year in Budivelnyk's roster. Anisimovas has averaged so far 7.4ppg and 3.8rpg. He used to play for the Lithuanian university national team five years ago.

   #10. Point guard Evaldas Zabas (188-88, currently plays in Czech Republic) was the main contributor in a BK Pardubice's victory against one of league's weakest teams BK Usti nad Labem (3-10) crushing them 92-68 in the Czech Republic NBL last Saturday. Zabas was the best player in that game. He scored 18 points, grabbed 5 boards, dished 5 assists and stole 4 balls in 23 minutes. BK JIP Pardubice (7-6) is placed sixth in the NBL. Zabas is currently third on the list of top scorers with 18.2ppg. This year he also averages: 3.7rpg, 3.2apg and 1.7spg in the 12 games. Zabas is a former U20 international player as four years ago he still played for the Lithuanian national team.

   #11. University international guard Augustas Peciukevicius (192-91, currently plays in Baltic League) contributed to a 3-point KK Parnu's victory against the closely-ranked Valmiera 94-91 in the Baltic League on Friday night. He was the top player that evening. Peciukevicius recorded 26 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 7 assists. He averaged so far 14.5ppg, 4.3rpg, 4.7apg and 1.7spg. Peciukevicius used to play for the Lithuanian university national team last year.

   #12. Former U20 international guard Mantas Cesnauskis (191-81, currently plays in Poland) was not able to secure a victory for Stelmet ZG in their game against PGE Turow in the Polish TBL. He recorded 9 points and added 4 passes in 21 minutes. His team lost 84-99. Cesnauskis has averaged so far 5.9ppg, 1.9rpg and 1.9apg in the 10 games. He used to play for the Lithuanian U20 national team back in 2000.

   #13. Former international point guard Arvydas Eitutavicius (188-82, college: American, currently plays in Poland) contributed to Anwil's victory against the closely-ranked Start Gdynia 76-69 in the Polish TBL last Saturday. Eitutavicius recorded 13 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. He averaged so far 10.1ppg, 1.4rpg and 1.7apg. Eitutavicius used to play for the Lithuanian national team two years ago.

   #14. Former University international center Egidijus Dimsa (205-85, currently plays in Baltic League) contributed to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Lietkabelis crushing them 99-69 in the Baltic League on Saturday night. He scored 8 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in 15 minutes. Dimsa has averaged so far 8.7ppg and 5.3rpg in the nine games. He used to play for the Lithuanian university national team back in 2009.

   #15. International power forward Darius Songaila (204-78, agency: Priority Sports, college: Wake Forest, currently plays in VTB United League), who plays in Ukraine couldn't help BC Donetsk (3-4) in their last game. Despite his good performance the seventh-placed BC Donetsk was edged in an overtime 83-81 in Zgorzelec by the lower-ranked (#9) PGE Turow in the group A of VTB United League. Songaila recorded 12 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists in 20 minutes. Songaila is ranked third on the list of the most steals in the league with 2.7spg. This year he also averages: 14.7ppg, 6.0rpg and 1.7apg in the six games. Songaila is also in the roster of the Lithuanian national team.


The list of other players, who all have Lithuanian passport but never been selected to any of Lithuanian national teams:

   #1. Experienced Christopher Young (206-F/C-79, college: Michigan, currently plays in EuroChallenge), who plays in Belgium could not help Okapi Aalstar (3-2) in their last game. Despite Young's good performance the second-placed Okapi Aalstar lost 77-89 on the road to the lower-ranked (#4) Pitesti in the group E of EuroChallenge. He scored 12 points, grabbed 9 rebounds and dished 4 assists in 22 minutes. Young's team will play only one more game in the EuroChallenge Regular Season. And that game will be critical. This year Young's total stats are: 9.4ppg and 6.8rpg in the five games he played so far. He is a naturalized American. Strangely Young has never played in Lithuania.

   #2. Zygimantas Jonusas (200-F-82, currently plays in Italy) led Juvecaserta to an overtime victory against the fourth-ranked Cantu (6-4) 76-74 in the Italian SerieA in Sunday night's game. Jonusas recorded 11 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. JuveCaserta (5-5) is placed tenth in the SerieA. But there are still lots of games to play and it's a long way to go. Jonusas has averaged so far 9.1ppg, 4.4rpg, 1.1apg and 1.2spg.

   #3. Nik Stauskas (198-G-93, currently plays college basketball in the States) led Michigan to a victory against the Bradley University 74-66 in the NCAA in Saturday night's game. He scored 22 points in 36 minutes. The University of Michigan has conference record this season. Stauskas averaged so far 14.7ppg, 6.0rpg and 1.7apg in the six games. He has a dual citizenship: Canadian and Lithuanian. Despite Stauskas' Lithuanian passport, he currently plays for the Canadian U19 national team and is not eligible to play for the Lithuanian team.

   #4. Arturas Masiulis (210-C-80, currently plays in United Kingdom), who plays in the British BBL was not able to help one of league's weakest teams Worcester Wolves (7-7) in their last game. Despite Masiulis' very good performance Worcester Wolves was crushed 87-65 in Plymouth by the higher-ranked (#4) Raiders. He was the top scorer with 18 points. Masiulis also added 9 rebounds and 3 assists in 29 minutes. Masiulis averaged so far 12.6ppg, 7.3rpg and 1.6apg in the 13 games.

   #5. Benas Veikalas (192-G-83, college: Metro St., currently plays in EuroChallenge), who plays in Germany was not able to secure a victory for Telekom Baskets (3-2) in their last game. Despite his good performance Telekom Baskets (#2) lost 70-75 in Holon to the leading Hapoel in the group H of EuroChallenge. Veikalas scored 10 points in 15 minutes. His team will play only one more game in the EuroChallenge Regular Season. And now that game is very crucial. Veikalas has averaged so far 9.2ppg, 3.0rpg and 1.4apg in the five games.

   #6. Gabas Maldunas (203-F-93, currently studies in the States) contributed to Dartmouth's victory against the Longwood College 61-53 in the NCAA on Saturday night. He scored 19 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Maldunas has averaged so far 9.2ppg, 3.0rpg and 1.4apg.

   #7. Mantas Griskenas (200-F-85, college: Wichita St., currently plays in Romania) contributed to an overtime CSU Sibiu's victory against the closely-ranked Gaz Metan 98-93 in the Romanian Division A in Saturday night's game. He recorded 17 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 36 minutes. Griskenas averaged so far 11.7ppg and 5.6rpg in the 11 games.

Martynas Kuksta (203-C-89, currently plays in Sweden) led Hoganas to a victory over the tenth-ranked Sanda Basket crushing them 88-64 in the Swedish Basketettan (second division) in Saturday night's game. He was the top player that evening. Kuksta recorded a double-double by scoring 24 points and getting 12 rebounds. Kuksta is ranked third on the list of the best blockers in the league. He has individually a very good season with high stats. Kuksta averages: 16.5ppg, 7.6rpg and 1.4bpg.

   #10. Vytautas Kamarunas (179-PG-89, currently plays in Belarus) couldn't help one of league's weakest teams Svisloch in their game against Sozh Gomel in the Belarusian Premier League. Despite his very good performance on Friday night He was the top scorer with 15 points. Kamarunas also added 5 rebounds. Kamarunas is currently fifth on the list of best passers. He has very reliable stats this season: 12.7ppg, 3.8rpg, 4.5apg and 2.1spg.
