LKL top team - Rudupis (8-0) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they beat fifth ranked Juventus (4-4) in Utena 88-72. The game was mostly controlled by Rudupis. Juventus managed to win fourth quarter 17-9. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. Rudupis forced 19 Juventus turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Juventus helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Gediminas Orelikas (200-90) who helped to win the game recording 20 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Estonian Siim-Sander Vene (203-90, agency: Alti Sport) contributed with 6 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Rudupis' coach Virginijus Seskus used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Center Karolis Petrukonis (212-87, college: Clemson) answered with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds for Juventus. Undefeated Rudupis have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They maintain first place with 8-0 record. Juventus at the other side dropped to the sixth position with four games lost. They share it with Lietkabelis. Rudupis are looking forward to face Sakalai (#11) in Vilnius in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Juventus will play on the road against Lietkabelis (#7) in Panevezys and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Worth to mention about the upset in a game between Lietkabelis (4-4) and Sakalai (2-6), which took place in Vilnius. Higher ranked Lietkabelis was outleveled in a road game by eleventh ranked Sakalai 74-52. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Lietkabelis. Forward Evaldas Baniulis (201-87, college: S.Carolina) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds for the winners and Aivaras Kiausas chipped in 11 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. At the losing side Arnas Butkevicius (196-92) responded with 12 points and 5 rebounds. Sakalai moved-up to tenth place, which they share with LSU-Baltai. Lietkabelis at the other side keeps the sixth position with four games lost. They share it with Juventus. Sakalai will play against league's leader Rudupis in Prienai in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Lietkabelis will play at home against Juventus (#6) in Utena and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last two games of round 13 LSU-Baltai was smashed by Siauliai on the road 90-70. Pieno Zvaigzdes lost to Nevezis on its own court 70-76.
The most impressive performance of 13th round was 20 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals by Mindaugas Stasys of LSU-Baltai.

Siauliai - LSU-Baltai 90-70

No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Siauliai (5-3) crushed at home 10th ranked LSU-Baltai (2-6) 90-70. The game was mostly controlled by Siauliai. LSU-Baltai was better in third quarter 27-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Siauliai dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to LSU-Baltai's 32. They outrebounded LSU-Baltai 43-22 including a 18-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. The former international Aurimas Kieza (202-82, college: Hofstra) stepped up and scored 14 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners and guard Laurynas Samenas (192-88) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds. Five Siauliai players scored in double figures. At the losing side point guard Mindaugas Stasys (180-86) responded with 20 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals and guard Sarunas Vingelis (191-89) scored 15 points and 5 assists. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Siauliai moved-up to second place, which they share with Neptunas. LSU-Baltai at the other side keeps the tenth position with six games lost. They share it with Sakalai. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

Pieno Zvaigzdes - Nevezis 70-76

Rather expected game when 9th ranked Pieno Zvaigzdes (3-5) lost to seventh ranked Nevezis (5-4) in Pasvalys 70-76. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Pieno Zvaigzdes won third quarter 19-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Guard Andrius Aleksandrovas (197-86) stepped up and scored 17 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and the former international point guard Vytenis Jasikevicius (187-85) chipped in 16 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. At the losing side American forward Yancy Gates (206-89, college: Cincinnati) responded with 16 points and Gytis Sirutavicius (195-83) scored 18 points and 4 steals. Pieno Zvaigzdes' coach Nerijus Zabarauskas rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Nevezis. They moved-up to fourth place. Pieno Zvaigzdes lost their third game in a row. They keep the ninth position with five games lost. Nevezis will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Pieno Zvaigzdes will play on the road against the league's second-placed Neptunas (#2) in Klaipeda and hopes to get back on the winning track.

Seventh-ranked Vytis (14-16) made lots of trouble for first ranked Suduva-Mantinga (24-5) in Marijampole on Saturday. Suduva-Mantinga managed to secure only two-point victory 74-72.
