Former international forward Vita Kuktiene (186-F-80) put on an amazing game in the last round for top-ranked Kibirkstis-Tiche, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 12. The 32-year old player was the main contributor (22 points, seven rebounds and two assists) to her team's victory, helping them to outclass Utena (#7, 2-10) with 30-point margin 85-55. It allowed Kibirkstis-Tiche to consolidate first place in the Lithuanian LMKL. Kibirkstis-Tiche has a very good season and are considered to have a run for the championship title. They improved their record to 11-1. In the team's last game Kuktiene had a remarkable 81.8% from 2-point range. It was one of impressive evenings for her as usually she does not deliver so high stats. Vita Kuktiene averages this season 11.1ppg and 6.3rpg.
The second best player in last round's games was young Laura Svaryte (190-C/F-92) of Aistes-LSU. Svaryte had a very good evening with a double-double of 17 points and 11 rebounds. Bad luck as Aistes-LSU was edged by the higher-ranked Suduva (#3, 8-4) 70-67. This loss caused Aistes-LSU to drop to 6th position in the standings. Her team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 4-8 record. Svaryte is a newcomer at Aistes-LSU, but is already one of team's top players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 16.6ppg (#6). She also registered 10.8 boards per game.
Third on the list of top players last round was international guard Santa Okockyte (175-PG-92) of Ruta Siauliai (#5). Okockyte scored 28 points. She was a key player of Ruta Siauliai, leading her team to a 69-54 easy win against the lower-ranked Jaunieji Talentai (#8, 1-10). The chances of Ruta Siauliai ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 7 games, recording just five victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Okockyte could help Ruta Siauliai to bring them higher in the standings. Okockyte has a great season in Lithuania. After only 9 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 21.0ppg (3rd best).
The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc. The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy. The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
