There was no lack of interesting games this round. The round ended with favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin.

Eleventh-ranked Delikatesas (9-12) gave a tough game to second ranked Dzukija (16-5) in Joniskis on Friday. The visitors from Alytus managed to secure only two-point victory 73-71. However their fans expected much easier game. Delikatesas trailed by 18 points after 3 quarters before a 32-16 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 71-73 at the end of the game. Polish center Cezary Trybanski (218-79) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 16 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners and American guard Bryan Harrison (188-84, college: Georgia Coll., agency: Global Sports Plaza) chipped in 17 points and 6 assists. The best for the losing side was swingman Mantas Pukinskas (198-89) with 17 points and 9 rebounds. Dzukija have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Newly promoted Dzukija maintains second place with 16-5 record behind leader Mazeikiai. Delikatesas at the other side keeps the eleventh position with 12 games lost. They share it with Perlas-MRU. Dzukija are looking forward to face Suduva-Mantinga (#3) in Marijampole in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Delikatesas will play on the road against Olimpas (#4) in Plunge and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
Important game to mention about took place in Marijampole. Fourth ranked Suduva-Mantinga (15-6) saved a 3-point victory at home edging 3rd placed Zanavykas (14-7) 82-79 in the game for the third place. Forward Marius Valukonis (198-88) nailed a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side and Zilvinas Kuklierius accounted for 14 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Guard Edgaras Stanionis (193-88) came up with 35 points (!!!), 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals for Zanavykas in the defeat. Zanavykas' coach Giedrius Zibenas tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Suduva-Mantinga. They moved-up to third place. Newly promoted Zanavykas dropped to the fourth position with seven games lost. They share it with Olimpas. Suduva-Mantinga will play against league's second-placed Dzukija in Alytus in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Zanavykas will play at home against Radviliskis and hopes to get back on the winning track.
The game between Top Four teams took place in Mazeikiai. First ranked host Mazeikiai (17-4) defeated 3rd placed Olimpas (14-7) 73-68. The best player for the winners was Osvaldas Macernis who scored 18 points and 9 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Audrius Maneikis who recorded 18 points. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Mazeikiai. They maintain first place with 17-4 record. Newly promoted Olimpas dropped to the fourth position with seven games lost. They share it with Zanavykas. Mazeikiai will meet bottom-ranked Gargzdai-Bremena (#18) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Olimpas will play against Delikatesas (#11) in Joniskis and hope to secure a win.
A very interesting game took place in Radviliskis. It ended with only two-point defeat on the road of higher ranked Statyba (13-8) to sixteenth ranked Radviliskis (6-14) 73-71 on Friday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. It was a good game for Darius Gricius who led his team to a victory with 19 points. Statyba's coach Gintautas Regina let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Radviliskis moved-up to fifteenth place. Statyba at the other side keeps the sixth position with eight games lost. Radviliskis' next round opponent will be higher ranked Zanavykas (#5) in Sakiai and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
Important game to mention about took place in Moletai. Seventeenth ranked Silute (6-15) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging higher ranked Ezerunas-Karys (8-13) 84-82 on Friday evening. Gytis Pakalniskis stepped up with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 18 rebounds for the winners. Silute moved-up to sixteenth place. Loser Ezerunas-Karys keeps the thirteenth position with 13 games lost. Silute will face higher ranked Triobet (#7) in Jonava in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.

There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 21: Zalgiris-Sabonio lost to S.Marciulionio on the opponent's court 76-82. Nafta Universitetas was outscored by Birstono in a home game 59-85. Bottom-ranked Gargzdai recorded a loss to Triobet on the road 68-55. Meresta defeated Perlas-MRU on its own court 86-81.


Suduva-Mantinga - Zanavykas 82-79

Important game to mention about took place in Marijampole. Fourth ranked Suduva-Mantinga (15-6) saved a 3-point victory at home edging 3rd placed Zanavykas (14-7) 82-79 in the game for the third place. Suduva-Mantinga made 22-of-24 charity shots (91.7 percent) during the game. Suduva-Mantinga outrebounded Zanavykas 41-30 including 26 on the defensive glass. Zanavykas was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Forward Marius Valukonis (198-88) nailed a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side and guard Zilvinas Kuklierius (180-85) accounted for 14 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). There was a minor upset in Vilnius where 8th ranked Zalgiris-Sabonio (11-10) was defeated by tenth ranked S.Marciulionio (11-10) 82-76 on Friday. S.Marciulionio made 23-of-28 free shots (82.1 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Zalgiris-Sabonio turnovers. Zalgiris-Sabonio was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Forward Janas Jurgo (200-83) stepped up and scored 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and guard Tomas Rakauskas (183-81) chipped in 14 points and 5 rebounds. S.Marciulionio's coach Gintaras Kruckauskas used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was center Arturas Gudaitis (208-93) with 15 points and 8 rebounds and swingman Paulius Sorokas (197-92) scored 15 points and 7 rebounds. Four Zalgiris-Sabonio players scored in double figures. S.Marciulionio moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Meresta and Zalgiris-Sabonio. S.Marciulionio's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Vilnius to the arena Statyba.

Radviliskis - Statyba 73-71

A very interesting game took place in Radviliskis. It ended with only two-point defeat on the road of higher ranked Statyba (13-8) to sixteenth ranked Radviliskis (6-14) 73-71 on Friday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 24-19. But Statyba won second period 19-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. 24 personal fouls committed by Statyba helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for guard Darius Gricius (195-86) who led his team to a victory with 19 points. Forward Vaidas Trepocka (200-80, agency: Court Side) contributed with 12 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Five Radviliskis players scored in double figures. point guard Ovidijus Varanauskas (187-91) answered with 15 points and 7 assists and guard Martynas Paliukenas (195-93) added 13 points in the effort for Statyba. Statyba's coach Gintautas Regina let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Radviliskis moved-up to fifteenth place. Rather predictable result in Klaipeda where fourteenth ranked Birstono (8-13) smashed 16th ranked Nafta Universitetas (5-16) 85-59 on Friday. The guests trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 85-59. Birstono forced 25 Nafta Universitetas turnovers. Simas Raupys (195-94) stepped up and scored 16 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and point guard Audrius Ramonaitis (180-92) chipped in 16 points. Four Birstono players scored in double figures. Birstono's coach Marius Kiltinavicius felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was forward Donatas Norkus (196-90) with 16 points and point guard Deividas Anuzis (181-92) scored 11 points and 5 assists. Birstono moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Ezerunas-Karys. Loser Nafta Universitetas dropped to the seventeenth position with 16 games lost. Birstono will face higher ranked Meresta (#8) in Pakruojis in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
