Tomas
Gaidamavicius
Guard Tomas Gaidamavicius (191-G-82) had an amazing evening in the last round for Meresta, receiving a Eurobasket.com NKL Player of the Week award for round 21.
The 30-year old player had a double-double of 26 points and 10 rebounds, while his team beat Perlas-MRU (#12, 9-12) 86-81. Meresta is placed at 8th position in Lithuanian NKL. Meresta is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 11-10 record. In the team's last game Gaidamavicius had a remarkable 71.4% from 2-point range and got three three-pointers out of 6 attempts. He turned to be Meresta's top player in his first season with the team. Tomas Gaidamavicius averages this season 16.7ppg, 5.3rpg and 7.3apg.

The second best player in last round's games was 24-year old Edgaras Stanionis (193-G-88) of Zanavykas. Stanionis had a very good evening with 35 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Bad luck as Zanavykas was edged by slightly higher-ranked Suduva-Mantinga (#3, 15-6) 82-79. This loss caused Zanavykas to drop to 5th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 14-7 record is not bad and everything may still change. Stanionis is a newcomer at Zanavykas, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 25.3ppg (#1). His other stats are also decent: 6.2rpg and 3.4apg.

Third on the list of top players last round was forward Raimundas Ambrulaitis (199-F-82) of Ezerunas-Karys (#13). Ambrulaitis scored 18 points and grabbed eleven rebounds (!!!). Despite Ambrulaitis' great performance Ezerunas-Karys lost 82-84 to the lower-ranked Silute (#16, 6-15). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Ezerunas-Karys not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 13 games, recording just eight victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Ambrulaitis could try to bring Ezerunas-Karys' a little bit higher in the standings. Ambrulaitis has a very solid season. In 20 games in Lithuania he scored 9.9ppg. He also has 6.1rpg and FGP: 58.5%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Mantas Virbalas (203-C/F-88) of Perlas-MRU - 19 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists
5. Vilius Sumskis (213-C-84) of Zanavykas - 21 points and 9 rebounds
6. Osvaldas Macernis (196-F-82) of Mazeikiai - 18 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists
7. Marius Valukonis (198-F-88) of Suduva-Mantinga - 25 points, 11 rebounds and 3 assists
8. Tomas Milinskas (202-F-90) of Triobet - 19 points and 11 rebounds
9. Zilvinas Kuklierius (180-G-85) of Suduva-Mantinga - 14 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists
10. Cezary Trybanski (218-C-79) of Dzukija - 12 points and 16 rebounds

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
