There were many interesting games last round. The round ended with change at the leadership position, derby games and favorites losing the games.

Round 22 in NKL means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Gargzdai where host Gargzdai-Bremena (4-18) beat league's leader Mazeikiai (17-5) 76-68 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Mazeikiai. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Mazeikiai won third quarter 20-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Mazeikiai 48-31 including 16 on the offensive glass. Forward Laurynas Lucinskas (201-93) fired 20 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Forward Marius Grigaitis (196-91) chipped in 16 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Modestas Sidlauskas (193-85) produced 15 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for lost side. Gargzdai-Bremena maintains eighteenth position with 4-18 record. Mazeikiai at the other side still keeps top place with five games lost. They were joined at the leadership position by Dzukija who have the same record. Mazeikiai will play next round against Zanavykas trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Gargzdai-Bremena will try to continue on its current victory against ninth ranked Meresta in Pakruojis.
The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Dzukija as it allowed them to take a leadership position after previous leader's (Mazeikiai) loss. Dzukija defeated 3rd ranked Suduva-Mantinga in Alytus 84-72. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Suduva-Mantinga. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Bryan Harrison (188-84, college: Georgia Coll., agency: Global Sports Plaza) who helped to win the game recording 27 points and 8 assists. Cezary Trybanski contributed with 14 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners. Forward Marius Valukonis (198-88) replied with 24 points and 5 rebounds for Suduva-Mantinga. Suduva-Mantinga's coach Gintautas Zibuda rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Dzukija (17-5) have an impressive six-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Mazeikiai. Suduva-Mantinga at the other side keeps the third place with seven games lost. They share the position with Olimpas. Suduva-Mantinga will play next round against Zalgiris-Sabonio trying to get back on the winning streak. Dzukija will try to continue on its current victory against fifth ranked Triobet at Jonava.
We should mention about the upset which took place in Kaunas, where higher ranked Meresta (11-11) lost to thirteenth ranked Birstono (9-13) in a road game 71-77 on Saturday. Antanas Montrimavicius notched a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds to lead the effort. Radviliskis maintains fifteenth position with 7-14 record. Newly promoted Zanavykas keeps the fifth place with eight games lost. Radviliskis' next round opponent will be Nafta Universitetas (#17) in Klaipeda. The game with biggest result difference took place in Vilnius. Local Statyba (14-8) outscored 9th ranked S.Marciulionio (11-11) 107-74 on Saturday night.
