Best players of Lithuanian LKL round 15 - Dec 24, 2012

Mindaugas
Kuzminskas
International forward Mindaugas Kuzminskas (205-F-89) had a very impressive game in the last round for Zalgiris and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 15.
The 23-year old forward had the game-high 25 points adding six rebounds and three assists for Zalgiris in his team's victory, helping them to outclass LSU-Baltai (#11, 2-8) with 50-point margin 121-71. Zalgiris is placed at 3rd position in Lithuanian LKL. They maintain perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is still on an early stage, but Zalgiris already had a very good start winning all 5 without losing a single one. In the team's last game Kuzminskas had a remarkable 60.0% from 2-point range. He has many years of experience at Zalgiris, through which he has constantly improved. Mindaugas Kuzminskas averages this season 15.2ppg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young Croatian center Leon Radosevic (206-C-90) of Lietuvos rytas. Radosevic impressed basketball fans with 23 points and 6 rebounds. Of course he lead Lietuvos rytas to another comfortable win outscoring the higher-ranked Lietkabelis (#5, 5-5) 114-66. Despite this victory Lietuvos rytas slide down in the standings to 8th position. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 4-2 record is not bad and everything may still change. Radosevic is a newcomer at Lietuvos rytas and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was international forward Deividas Gailius (200-F-88) of second-ranked Neptunas. Gailius scored 27 points and grabbed five rebounds. He was a key player of Neptunas, leading his team to a 74-67 win against the lower-ranked Nevezis (#6, 5-5). Neptunas needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 7 victories and 3 lost games. Gailius has a great season in Lithuania. After 10 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 15.0ppg (5th best). He also has FGP: 62.1% and 3PT: 50.0%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Ksistof Lavrinovic (210-C-79) of Zalgiris - 16 points, 2 rebounds and 4 assists
5. Laurynas Mikalauskas (205-PF-85) of Neptunas - 15 points and 14 rebounds
6. Saulius Kuzminskas (210-C/F-82) of Siauliai - 14 points, 11 rebounds and 2 assists
7. Dejan Ivanov (205-F/C-86) of Lietuvos rytas - 13 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists
8. Tauras Jogela (203-F-93) of Lietkabelis - 18 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Gediminas Orelikas (200-G/F-90) of Rudupis - 18 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists
10. Yancy Gates (206-F-89) of Pieno Zvaigzdes - 16 points and 8 rebounds

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
