LKL top team - Rudupis (11-0) managed to deliver another win on Saturday. This time they beat twelfth ranked Naglis Palangos (0-11) in Palanga 99-85. The game without a history. Rudupis led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 22-of-28 free shots (78.6 percent) during the game. 24 personal fouls committed by Naglis Palangos helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Arnas Labuckas (203-87) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 7 rebounds. Swingman Gediminas Orelikas (200-90) contributed with 22 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Guard Modestas Kumpys (192-91) replied with 17 points and 7 rebounds for Naglis Palangos. Undefeated Rudupis have an impressive 11-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 11-0 record. Naglis Palangos at the other side still closes the standings with 11 games lost. Rudupis are looking forward to face Pieno Zvaigzdes (#8) in Pasvalys in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Naglis Palangos will play on the road against Siauliai (#4) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
The game in Panevezys was also worth to mention about. Fourth ranked Siauliai (6-4) played at the court of 5th ranked Lietkabelis (5-6). Siauliai managed to secure a 5-point victory 85-80. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international Aurimas Kieza (202-82, college: Hofstra) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 8 rebounds and Rolandas Alijevas who added 14 points and 5 assists during the contest. At the losing side center Adomas Drungilas (203-90) responded with 14 points and 7 rebounds. Lietkabelis' coach Gintaras Leonavicius rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Siauliai maintains fourth position with 6-4 record. Lietkabelis at the other side keeps the fifth place with six games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Siauliai will play against bottom-ranked Naglis Palangos (#12) in Palanga in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Lietkabelis will play at home against the league's second-placed Neptunas (#2) in Klaipeda and hopes to get back on the winning track.
A very close game took place in Vilnius between Pieno Zvaigzdes and Sakalai. Ninth ranked Pieno Zvaigzdes (5-6) got a very close victory on the road over 10th ranked Sakalai (3-9). Pieno Zvaigzdes managed to escape with a 2-point win 71-69 on Friday evening. The winners were led by Tyrell Biggs who scored that evening 12 points and 8 rebounds. Even 24 points and 5 assists by Justas Sinica did not help to save the game for Sakalai. Pieno Zvaigzdes moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Sakalai dropped to the eleventh position with nine games lost. Pieno Zvaigzdes will meet at home league's leader Rudupis in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Sakalai will play against Nevezis (#6) in Kedainiai and hope to secure a win.
Worth to mention about the upset in a game between Nevezis (5-6) and LSU-Baltai (3-8), which took place in Kaunas. Higher ranked Nevezis lost to eleventh ranked LSU-Baltai in a road game 66-71. Mindaugas Stasys fired 8 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. LSU-Baltai's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. LSU-Baltai moved-up to tenth place. Nevezis at the other side dropped to the fifth position with six games lost. LSU-Baltai's next round opponent will be higher ranked Juventus (#7) in Utena and it may be quite challenging game. Nevezis will play at home against Sakalai in Vilnius.
The game between 10th ranked Sakalai (3-9) and top-ranked Zalgiris (6-0) in Vilnius on Sunday ended with biggest points difference. Guests from Kaunas beat Sakalai 85-67. It was a very good performance for Darjus Lavrinovic who helped to win the game recording 15 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Zalgiris' coach Joan Plaza used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Undefeated Zalgiris have an impressive six-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains third position with 6-0 record having 5 victories less than leader Rudupis. Loser Sakalai dropped to the eleventh place with nine games lost. Zalgiris will have a break next round. Sakalai will play on the road against Nevezis (#6) in Kedainiai.

In the last game of round 16 Juventus was beaten by Neptunas on the road 96-83.


Naglis Palangos - Rudupis 85-99

Pieno Zvaigzdes managed to escape with a 2-point win 71-69 on Friday evening. The guests trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 17-14 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Pieno Zvaigzdes dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Sakalai's 24. Neptunas - Juventus 96-83

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Neptunas (8-3) beat 7th ranked Juventus (5-6) in Klaipeda 96-83 on Thursday. The game was mostly controlled by Neptunas. Juventus was better in fourth quarter 33-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Neptunas forced 20 Juventus turnovers. The game between 10th ranked Sakalai (3-9) and top-ranked Zalgiris (6-0) in Vilnius on Sunday ended with biggest points difference. Guests from Kaunas beat Sakalai 85-67. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 45-26 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Zalgiris dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Sakalai's 26. Zalgiris forced 22 Sakalai turnovers. Sakalai was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for the former international center Darjus Lavrinovic (212-79) who helped to win the game recording 15 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international forward Mindaugas Kuzminskas (205-89) contributed with 16 points for the winners. Zalgiris' coach Joan Plaza used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Swingman Zygimantas Sestokas (196-86, college: Hofstra, agency: Players Group) replied with 21 points and forward Justas Sinica (203-85) added 8 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Sakalai. Zalgiris have an impressive six-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains third position with 6-0 record having 5 victories less than leader Rudupis. Loser Sakalai dropped to the eleventh place with nine games lost. Zalgiris will have a break next round. Sakalai will play on the road against Nevezis (#6) in Kedainiai.
