The most surprising game was the first loss of undefeated Rudupis (11-1) in Pasvalys on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by seventh ranked Pieno Zvaigzdes (6-6) 82-77. It ended at the same time the 11-game winning streak of Rudupis. Rudupis trailed by 16 points after 3 quarters before a 25-14 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 77-82 at the end of the game. American-Puerto Rican point guard TreVon Hughes (183-87, college: Wisconsin, agency: Edge Sports) stepped up and scored 12 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and Gytis Sirutavicius (195-83) chipped in 19 points. Swingman Gediminas Orelikas (200-90) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds. Pieno Zvaigzdes have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Nevezis and Juventus. Rudupis at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
Bottom-ranked Naglis Palangos (0-12) is still winless. This time they lost on the road their 12th consecutive match to fourth ranked Siauliai (7-4) 106-81. The former international Aurimas Kieza (202-82, college: Hofstra) nailed 21 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side and Papa Dia accounted for 19 points and 7 rebounds. Siauliai's coach Gediminas Petrauskas felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Parrish Brown (185-84, college: Maryland) came up with 22 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for Naglis Palangos in the defeat. Siauliai moved-up to third place. Naglis Palangos at the other side still closes the standings with 12 games lost. Siauliai will play against league's second-placed Neptunas in Klaipeda in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Naglis Palangos will play at home against Lietuvos rytas (#9) in Vilnius and hopes to get finally their first victory.
The game in Panevezys was also quite interesting. Second ranked Neptunas (9-3) played at the court of 5th ranked Lietkabelis (5-7). Neptunas defeated Lietkabelis 81-65 on Wednesday. The best player for the winners was Deividas Gailius who scored 19 points. Neptunas' coach Kazys Maksvytis used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Edgaras Ulanovas produced 18 points and 8 rebounds for the hosts. Neptunas have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They maintain second place with 9-3 record having just two points less than leader Rudupis. Lietkabelis lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with seven games lost. Neptunas will meet Siauliai (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Lietkabelis will play against Zalgiris (#4) in Kaunas and hope to secure a win.

In the last two games of round 17 LSU-Baltai was destroyed by Juventus on the opponent's court 87-66. Nevezis outscored Sakalai in a home game 78-55.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 22 points and 9 rebounds by Karolis Petrukonis of Juventus.

Juventus - LSU-Baltai 87-66

Very expected game in Utena where 10th ranked LSU-Baltai (3-9) was crushed by sixth ranked Juventus (6-6) 87-66 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Juventus. LSU-Baltai managed to win fourth quarter 25-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding LSU-Baltai to just 7 points in third quarter. Juventus dominated down low during the game scoring 76 of its points in the paint compared to LSU-Baltai's 34. They outrebounded LSU-Baltai 44-22 including a 33-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was center Karolis Petrukonis (212-87, college: Clemson) who scored 22 points and 9 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). Forward Nerijus Varnelis (201-78) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds. Coach Rytis Vaisvila's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. point guard Taurantas Tamosiunas (192-92) produced 16 points and 5 rebounds and forward Vidmantas Sragauskis (200-86) added 14 points respectively for the guests. Juventus moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Nevezis and Pieno Zvaigzdes. Loser LSU-Baltai keeps the tenth position with nine games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
