Aurimas
Kieza
Former international power forward Aurimas Kieza (202-PF-82) put on an amazing game in the last round for Siauliai, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 17.
The 30-year old player was the main contributor (21 points, eight rebounds and three assists) to his team's victory, helping them to crush, the league's bottom-ranked team Naglis Palangos (#12, 0-12) with 25-point margin 106-81. Siauliai is placed at 3rd position in Lithuanian LKL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Siauliai will need more victories to improve their 7-4 record. In the team's last game Kieza had a remarkable 70.0% from 2-point range. He turned to be Siauliai's top player in his first season with the team. Former Hofstra University star has very solid stats this year. Kieza leads league in rebounds with 10.1rpg. Kieza is in league's top in and averages impressive 1.1bpg and 60.7% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was 25-year old Karolis Petrukonis (212-C-87) of Juventus. Petrukonis had a very good evening with 22 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists. Of course he lead Juventus to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked LSU-Baltai (#10, 3-9) 87-66. Juventus' 6th position in the standings has not changed. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 6-6 record is not bad and everything may still change. Petrukonis is well-known at Juventus and is a proven leader in his second season with the team.

Third on the list of top players last round was swingman Gediminas Orelikas (200-G/F-90) of league's top team Rudupis. Orelikas scored 19 points and grabbed twelve rebounds (!!!). Despite Orelikas' great performance Rudupis lost 77-82 to the lower-ranked Pieno Zvaigzdes (#7, 6-6). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. That was shocking loss for Rudupis and their fans. Hopefully so far almost perfect season will not turn around. They still have impressive 11-1 record in the league holding top position in the standings. Orelikas plays for a very strong team and Rudupis has many quality players. So achieving that high stats is even more impressive. Orelikas has a great season in Lithuania. After 12 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 18.9ppg (best scorer). He also has FGP: 75.8% and 3PT: 41.3%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Parrish Brown (185-G-84) of Naglis Palangos - 22 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists
5. Edgaras Ulanovas (197-G-92) of Lietkabelis - 18 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Nerijus Varnelis (201-F-78) of Juventus - 13 points and 13 rebounds
7. Papa Dia (208-F-87) of Siauliai - 19 points and 7 rebounds
8. Modestas Kumpys (192-G-91) of Naglis Palangos - 18 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists
9. Vytenis Jasikevicius (187-PG-85) of Nevezis - 14 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists
10. Tony Bishop (201-F-89) of Nevezis - 11 points and 10 rebounds

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
