The games are now more important than at the beginning of the Regular Season. We may still expect few shocking results in upcoming 6 rounds.

The most exciting game of round 28 in the NKL took place in Kaunas. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 5th ranked Triobet (17-10) to eighth ranked Zalgiris-Sabonio (17-11) 81-78 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Triobet. 26 personal fouls committed by Triobet helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of center Arturas Gudaitis (208-93) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points and 15 rebounds and forward Marius Grigonis (198-94) who added 23 points during the contest. At the losing side forward Martynas Linkevicius (197-85) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds. Zalgiris-Sabonio have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Statyba. Triobet at the other side keeps the fifth position with ten games lost. Zalgiris-Sabonio is looking forward to face Perlas-MRU (#11) in Vilnius in the next round where they are favorite. Triobet will play at home against Radviliskis (#14) and is hoping to win this game.
Very important is a home loss of second ranked Olimpas (20-8) against sixteenth ranked Silute (9-19) on Saturday night. Host Olimpas was defeated by Silute in a tough game in Plunge 82-87. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Olimpas. The winners were led by guard Eivydas Molosciakas (190-93) who scored that evening 25 points and 4 assists and Evaldas Saulys supported him with 12 points and 7 rebounds. Even 27 points (on 13-of-15 shooting from the field) by forward Audrius Maneikis (203-84, college: Motlow St. CC) did not help to save the game for Olimpas. Olimpas' coach Alidas Zukauskas rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Silute moved-up to fifteenth place. Newly promoted Olimpas keeps the second position with eight games lost. They share it with Dzukija. Silute will play against higher ranked Statyba (#6) in Vilnius in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Olimpas will play at home against the league's second-placed Dzukija (#2) having rather not much hope for a victory.
