Bottom-ranked Naglis Palangos (0-13) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 87-52 loss to ninth ranked Lietuvos rytas (5-2) in Palanga on Monday evening. The game without a history. Lietuvos rytas led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Naglis Palangos' 34. Lietuvos rytas forced 19 Naglis Palangos turnovers. At the other side the best for losing team was French forward Mari Konate (203-88, college: McNeese St.) who recorded a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. Lietuvos rytas moved-up to eighth place. Naglis Palangos at the other side still closes the standings with 13 games lost. They dropped to the ninth position with eight games lost. Zalgiris will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Lietkabelis will play on the road against LSU-Baltai (#10) in Kaunas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
