The Regular Season in NKL is slowly approaching the end. But there may be still some important changes in the final standings in the last 5 rounds.

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Mazeikiai. First ranked Mazeikiai faced 4th placed Suduva-Mantinga. Host Mazeikiai (23-6) defeated guests from Marijampole (19-10) 87-73. The game was mostly controlled by Mazeikiai. Suduva-Mantinga managed to win fourth quarter 19-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Mazeikiai forced 19 Suduva-Mantinga turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was Rokas Giedraitis (198-92) who scored 35 points (!!!). Suduva-Mantinga at the other side keeps the fourth position with ten games lost. Mazeikiai are looking forward to face Radviliskis (#14) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Suduva-Mantinga will play against Delikatesas (#12) in Joniskis and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
We should mention about the upset which took place in Vilnius, where higher ranked Zalgiris-Sabonio (17-12) was outleveled in a road game by eleventh ranked Perlas-MRU (13-16) 95-65. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Zalgiris-Sabonio. Power forward Mantas Virbalas (203-88) orchestrated the victory by scoring 15 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Forward Marius Grigonis (198-94) answered with 11 points and 5 rebounds for Zalgiris-Sabonio. Zalgiris-Sabonio at the other side dropped to the eighth position with 12 games lost. Perlas-MRU's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Vilnius to the arena Statyba.
