Martynas Linkevicius (197-F-85) had a great game in the last round for Triobet and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com NKL Player of the Week award for round 29. The 27-year old forward had a double-double of 28 points and fifteen rebounds, while his team beat Zanavykas (18-11) 94-82. Triobet is placed at 5th position in Lithuanian NKL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Triobet will need more victories to improve their 18-11 record. In the team's last game Linkevicius had a remarkable 60.0% from 2-point range and got five three-pointers out of 8 attempts. It's his second year at Triobet and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Linkevicius has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (5th best: 16.5ppg), rebounds (2nd best: 10.4rpg) and averages solid 52.8% FGP.
The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 35-year old forward Audrius Mineikis (201-F-77) of Suduva-Mantinga. Mineikis impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 21 points and 14 rebounds. Of course he lead Suduva-Mantinga to another comfortable win 80-65 over the lower-ranked Birstono (#13, 12-17) being unquestionably team leader. Suduva-Mantinga's 4th position in the standings has not changed. His team's 19-10 record is not bad at all. Mineikis is a newcomer at Suduva-Mantinga and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.
The third best performed player last round was Rokas Giedraitis (198-SF-92) of top-ranked Mazeikiai. Giedraitis got into 30-points club by scoring 35 points in the last round. He was a key player of Mazeikiai, leading his team to a 87-73 easy win against #4 ranked Suduva-Mantinga in a game of the week. Mazeikiai confirms their top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 23 victories and 6 lost games. Giedraitis has a great season in Lithuania. After 29 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 16.9ppg (4th best).
Other top performing players last week: 4. Evaldas Saulys (193-G-93) of Silute - 30 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists 5. The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc. The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy. The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
