Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top performances of Lithuanians who are currently playing abroad.

   #1. This week's number one is an international point guard Mantas Kalnietis (195-86, agency: Interperformances, currently plays in Russia). He led Lokomotiv to a victory over the closely-ranked Enisey Krasnoyarsk (12-8) 94-87 in the Russian PBL in Sunday night's game. Kalnietis was MVP of the game. He scored 35 points (!!!), had 5 rebounds and dished 7 assists in 34 minutes on the court. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Lokomotiv Kuban (6-5) is placed fourth in the PBL. Kalnietis has relatively good stats this year: 10.6ppg, 3.0rpg, 3.4apg and FT: 69.0% in the seven games he played so far. He is currently a member of the Lithuanian senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to an international center Jonas Valanciunas (211-92, currently plays in NBA). Valanciunas contributed to an overtime Toronto Raptors' victory against the Indiana Pacers (32-21) 100-98 in the NBA last Friday. He recorded a double-double by scoring 14 points and getting 13 rebounds. Valanciunas also added 2 blocks. The Toronto Raptors have 21-32 record this season. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. It's Valanciunas' first year with the team. This season he has relatively solid stats: 7.3ppg, 5.3rpg, 1.1bpg, 2FGP: 52.9% and FT: 73.0%. Valanciunas is in the roster of the Lithuanian senior national team.

   #3. The Lithuanian player who performed third best last week abroad was an international swingman Jonas Maciulis (199-85, currently plays in Euroleague), who plays in Greece. He could not help Panathinaikos (4-3) in their last game. Despite Maciulis' very good performance the fourth-placed Panathinaikos was badly defeated 86-69 on the road by the higher-ranked (#3) CSKA Moscow in the group E of Euroleague. He was the top scorer with 15 points. Maciulis also added 6 rebounds in 29 minutes. Maciulis has reliable stats this year: 10.6ppg, 4.2rpg, 2FGP: 56.7%(34-60), 3FGP: 39.7% and FT: 74.3% in the 17 games. He is also a member of the Lithuanian senior national team.

   #4. An experienced point guard Sarunas Jasikevicius (192-76, college: Maryland, currently plays in Euroleague) contributed to a Regal FC Barcelona's victory against the sixth-ranked Maccabi T-A (2-5) 82-77 in the Euroleague in Thursday night's game. Jasikevicius recorded 14 points and added 3 assists. Regal FC Barcelona (6-1) is placed first in group F. It was his team's fifth consecutive victory in a row. Jasikevicius' overall stats this season are: 4.9ppg and 1.6apg. He is also Lithuanian national team player.

   #5. International small forward Simas Jasaitis (202-82, currently plays in Eurocup) is a teammate of previously mentioned Mantas Kalnietis. But that was another game of his team in Eurocup which we would like to mention. Jasaitis helped his Russian team Lokomotiv win their game against the closely-ranked Spartak St.Petersburg (3-2) 77-72. He scored 15 points, grabbed 4 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 37 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 2 ranked teams in group K. Lokomotiv Kuban (5-0) is placed first. So far his team won all five games in the Top 16. Jasaitis' stats this year are: 12.2ppg, 4.9rpg and 1.7apg in the 11 games. He plays currently for the Lithuanian national team.

   #6. Power forward Darius Songaila (204-78, agency: Priority Sports, college: Wake Forest, currently plays in Ukraine), who plays in the Ukrainian Superleague was not able to help BC Donetsk (15-15) in their last game on Thursday. Despite Songaila's very good performance BC Donetsk was defeated 78-71 on the opponent's court by the higher-ranked Cherkasy (#6). He was the top scorer with 23 points. Songaila also added 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Songaila has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages: 16.6ppg, 6.5rpg, 1.9apg and 1.3spg. Songaila is an international player who is currently on the senior Lithuanian National Team roster.

   #7. Former international power forward Donatas Motiejunas (213-90, also represented by Interperformances, currently plays in NBA), who plays in the NBA was not able to secure a victory for the Houston Rockets (29-26) in their last game. Despite his good performance the Houston Rockets lost 96-106 in Los Angeles to the Clippers. Motiejunas scored 13 points in a mere 16 minutes. This year Motiejunas averages only 2.6ppg in the 18 games. He used to play for the Lithuanian national team two years ago.

   #8. Center Michailis Anisimovas (214-84, currently plays in Ukraine) was the major contributor in Budivelnyk's victory against the seventh-ranked Hoverla (15-13) 92-79 in the Ukrainian Superleague on Sunday night. He scored 17 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 22 minutes. Budivelnyk Kyiv (22-7) is placed first in the Superleague. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. Anisimovas is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his fourth year in Budivelnyk's roster. This season Anisimovas' overall stats are: 9.9ppg, 4.5rpg and 1.2apg in the 29 games. He used to play for the Lithuanian university national team back in 2007.

   #9. Former University international center Egidijus Dimsa (205-85, currently plays in Baltic League) couldn't help TU/Rock (4-1) in their game against Siauliai (3-2) in the Baltic League. Despite his very good performance in Sunday night's game Dimsa recorded a double-double by scoring 15 points and getting 10 rebounds. The Top 16 already ended in the Baltic League. It's Dimsa's first season with the team. He averaged so far 10.1ppg and 5.9rpg. Dimsa used to play for the Lithuanian university national team four years ago.

Donatas Zavackas

   #10. Forward Donatas Zavackas (203-80, college: Pittsburgh, currently plays in Eurocup) couldn't help VEF Riga (3-2) in their game against Valencia Basket (3-2) in the Eurocup, despite his good performance last Tuesday. He scored 11 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in 39 minutes. But VEF Riga lost in an overtime 96-103 at home to the second-ranked Valencia Basket in the group J of Eurocup. They ended the series of three consecutive victories. Zavackas' team will play only one more game in the Eurocup Top 16. And that game will be critical. This year Zavackas' total stats are: 7.8ppg and 3.6rpg in the 11 games. He is a former U20 international player as thirteen years ago he still played for the Lithuanian national team.

   #11. Former University international guard Augustas Peciukevicius (192-91, currently plays in Baltic League) couldn't help the league outsider KK Parnu in their game against Barons kvartals in the Baltic League. Despite his very good performance on Saturday night Peciukevicius recorded a double-double by scoring 32 points and making 10 passes. He also added 7 rebounds. Peciukevicius averaged so far 14.8ppg, 5.4rpg, 5.8apg and 1.1spg. He used to play for the Lithuanian university national team two years ago.

   #12. International guard Tomas Delininkaitis (190-82, currently plays in Ukraine) couldn't help the league outsider one of league's weakest teams Cherkasy in their game against Khimik in the Ukrainian Superleague, despite his very good performance in Friday night's game. Delininkaitis scored 19 points, grabbed 4 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 34 minutes. But his team lost in an overtime 87-93. Delininkaitis averaged so far 14.1ppg, 3.4rpg, 3.4apg and 1.1spg in the 18 games. He is also in the roster of the Lithuanian national team.

   #13. International center Antanas Kavaliauskas (207-84, another player represented by Interperformances, college: Texas A&M, currently plays in Eurocup) is a teammate of previously mentioned Donatas Zavackas and both played together in the last Eurocup game. Kavaliauskas couldn't help VEF Riga in their game against Valencia Basket. He scored 8 points and added 3 assists. His team was defeated in an overtime 103-96. Kavaliauskas has averaged so far 9.5ppg and 4.3rpg. He is also Lithuanian national team player.

   #14. Former international forward Dainius Salenga (197-77, currently plays in Ukraine) is a teammate of previously mentioned Michailis Anisimovas. However that was another game of his team in Ukrainian Superleague which brought him to that list. Salenga helped Budivelnyk win their game against the closely-ranked Halychyna crushing them 95-65. He scored 10 points and had 3 steals in only 13 minutes. Salenga has averaged so far 7.8ppg, 2.7rpg, 2.0apg and 1.1spg in the 28 games. He used to play for the Lithuanian national team back in 2005.

   #15. Former U21 international guard Gediminas Navickas (180-84, currently plays in Romania) was the main contributor in a Targu Mures' victory against one of league's weakest teams CS Farul Constanta crushing them 83-55 in the Romanian Liga Nationala in Saturday night's game. Navickas was the best player in that game. He scored 16 points, made 7 passes and 3 steals. Navickas averaged so far 10.2ppg, 1.9rpg, 2.7apg and 1.3spg. He used to play for the Lithuanian U21 national team eight years ago.


The list of other players, who all have Lithuanian passport but never been selected to any of Lithuanian national teams:

   #1. Benas Veikalas (192-G-83, college: Metro St., currently plays in Germany) was the major contributor in a Telekom Baskets' victory against the third-ranked ratiopharm Ulm (14-7) 99-94 in the German BBL last Saturday. Veikalas recorded 24 points. Telekom Baskets Bonn (11-10) is placed seventh in the BBL. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. Veikalas averaged so far 11.3ppg, 2.7rpg and 1.2apg.

   #2. Experienced Christopher Young (206-F/C-79, college: Michigan, currently plays in Belgium) contributed to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Antwerp Giants (8-8) 75-57 in the Belgian Ethias League in Saturday night's game. Young recorded 7 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in 28 minutes. Generali Okapi Aalstar (10-6) is placed third in the Ethias League. Young belongs to league's best rebounders and is ranked #6 with 6.5rpg. He also averaged so far 7.3ppg in the 14 games he played so far. Young is a naturalized American. Strangely he has never played in Lithuania.

   #3. Gintaras Leonavicius (194-G-83, agency: Players Group, currently plays in Spain) led Leche Rio Breogan to a victory against the tenth-ranked Lobe Huesca (7-10) 63-49 in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division) on Saturday night. Leonavicius scored 15 points and grabbed 6 rebounds (was perfect 5-for-5 from the free throw line) in 25 minutes. Leche Rio Breogan Lugo (9-8) is placed fifth in the LEB Gold. Leonavicius has averaged so far 8.7ppg, 2.7rpg, 2.1apg and 1.1spg in the 17 games.

   #4. Nik Stauskas (198-G-93, currently plays college basketball in the States), who plays in the NCAA could not help the Michigan (8-4) in their last game on Tuesday. Despite his good performance the Michigan was crushed 75-52 on the road by the Michigan State University. Stauskas recorded 10 points. Stauskas has averaged so far 8.7ppg, 2.7rpg, 2.1apg and 1.1spg. He has a dual citizenship: Canadian and Lithuanian. Despite Stauskas' Lithuanian passport, he previously played for the Canadian U19 national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Lithuanian team.

   #5. Vytautas Kamarunas (179-PG-89, currently plays in Belarus) was not able to help Tsmoki-Minsk II (8-11) in their game against Svisloch (6-14) in the Belarusian Premier League, despite his very good performance in Friday night's game. Kamarunas was the top scorer with 21 points. He also added 5 passes (made all of his six free throws) in 40 minutes. But Tsmoki-Minsk II lost 69-74 in Osipovichi to the lower-ranked (#6) Svisloch. There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Kamarunas averaged so far 14.3ppg, 3.3rpg, 5.8apg and 2.7spg in the six games.

   #6. Deividas Busma (212-C-87, agency: Two Points, college: Idaho St., currently plays in Spain) was not able to secure a victory for one of league's weakest teams CB Clavijo in their game against Leyma Basquet in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division), despite his very good performance on Friday night. He was the second best scorer with 13 points. Busma also added 7 rebounds in 31 minutes. But his team lost 72-79. Busma has averaged so far 8.4ppg and 4.3rpg in the 10 games.

   #7. Nerijus Brasas (200-F-85, currently plays in Denmark) couldn't help Naestved in their game against Horsens IC in the Danish Ligaen, despite his very good performance on Wednesday night.
