Best players of Lithuanian NKL round 32 - Feb 17, 2013

Jonas
Elvikis
Experienced Jonas Elvikis (195-F-82) put on an amazing game in the last round for Perlas-MRU and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com NKL Player of the Week award for round 32.
The 30-year old forward had the game-high 28 points adding two rebounds and three assists for Perlas-MRU in his team's victory, helping them to outclass Nafta Universitetas (#18, 5-27) with 28-point margin 111-83. The game was not the highest importance and did not have significant influence on the top of the standings. Perlas-MRU maintains the 11th position in Lithuanian NKL. Perlas-MRU is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 14-18 record. In the team's last game Elvikis had a remarkable 87.5% from 2-point range. It was one of impressive evenings for him as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Jonas Elvikis averages this season 10.6ppg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 22-year old forward Dainius Zvinklys (202-F-90) of Nafta Universitetas. Zvinklys impressed basketball fans with 27 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists. Bad luck as Nafta Universitetas lost that game 83-111 to the higher-ranked Perlas-MRU (#11, 14-18). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Nafta Universitetas is still at the dead bottom 18th position. 27 lost games are too many comparing to just five victories Nafta Universitetas managed to get this year. Zvinklys is one of the most experienced players at Nafta Universitetas and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was another Perlas-MRU's star - Antanas Udras (202-F-92). Udras scored 26 points and grabbed eight rebounds. He was another key player of Perlas-MRU, helping his team with a 111-83 easy win against the lower-ranked Nafta Universitetas (#18, 5-27). The chances of Perlas-MRU ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 18 games, recording just fourteen victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Udras could help Perlas-MRU to bring them higher in the standings. Udras has a great season in Lithuania. After 32 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 8.5rpg (5th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Zilvinas Petraitis (194-G/F-88) of Delikatesas - 24 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists
5. Marius Valukonis (198-F-88) of Suduva-Mantinga - 21 points, 12 rebounds and 3 assists
6. Cezary Trybanski (218-C-79) of Dzukija - 21 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists
7. Vilius Sumskis (213-C-84) of Zanavykas - 22 points and 7 rebounds
8. Povilas Sakinis (199-F-80) of Dzukija - 23 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists
9. Martynas Linkevicius (197-F-85) of Triobet - 17 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Vaidas Trepocka (200-F-80) of Radviliskis - 22 points and 7 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
