Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top performances of Lithuanians who are currently playing abroad.

   #1. This week's number one is an international swingman Jonas Maciulis (199-85, currently plays in Euroleague), who plays in Greece. He could not help Panathinaikos (5-3) in their last game. Despite Maciulis' very good performance the fourth-placed Panathinaikos was badly defeated 86-69 on the road by the higher-ranked (#3) CSKA Moscow in the group E of Euroleague. He was the top scorer with 15 points. Maciulis also added 6 rebounds in 29 minutes on the court. Maciulis has relatively good stats this year: 10.3ppg, 4.2rpg, 2FGP: 56.3%(36-64), 3FGP: 37.2% and FT: 74.3% in the 18 games he played so far. He is currently a member of the Lithuanian senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to an experienced international point guard Sarunas Jasikevicius (192-76, college: Maryland, currently plays in Euroleague). Jasikevicius was the major contributor in a Regal FC Barcelona's victory against the sixth-ranked Maccabi T-A (3-5) 82-77 in the Euroleague last Thursday. He recorded 14 points and added 3 assists. Regal FC Barcelona (7-1) is placed first in group F. It was his team's sixth consecutive victory in a row. This season Jasikevicius averages: 4.9ppg, 1.7apg, 2FGP: 65.8%(25-38), 3FGP: 32.0%. He is in the roster of the Lithuanian senior national team.

   #3. The Lithuanian player who performed third best last week abroad was an international power forward Darius Songaila (204-78, agency: Priority Sports, college: Wake Forest, currently plays in VTB United League), who plays in Ukraine. Songaila was not able to help BC Donetsk (5-9) in their last game. Despite his very good performance BC Donetsk (#7) lost in an overtime 90-96 in Astana to the higher-ranked (#5) BC Astana in the group A of VTB United League. Songaila was the top scorer with 24 points. He also added 8 rebounds in 38 minutes. There are only four games left until the end of the VTB United League Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Songaila is currently fifth on the league's list of top scorers and also on the list of best rebounders (seventh place). He has individually a very good year with high stats. Songaila averages: 15.9ppg, 6.7rpg, 1.3apg, 2.1spg, 2FGP: 58.7%(84-143) and FT: 88.6% in the 13 games. He is also a member of the Lithuanian senior national team.

Point guard Mantas Kalnietis (195-86, agency: Interperformances, currently plays in Russia) led Lokomotiv to a victory against the seventh-ranked Triumph Lyubertsy (4-7) 89-78 in the Russian PBL in Sunday night's game. Kalnietis recorded 12 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Lokomotiv Kuban (7-5) is placed third in the PBL. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. It's Kalnietis' first season with the team. This year he has relatively solid stats: 10.6ppg, 3.0rpg and 3.4apg. Kalnietis is also Lithuanian national team player.

Former University international center Michailis Anisimovas (214-84, currently plays in Eurocup) contributed to Budivelnyk's victory against the fourth-ranked Triumph Lyubertsy (2-4) 88-77 in the Eurocup last Wednesday. He scored 16 points, had 4 rebounds and made 4 blocks in 27 minutes. Budivelnyk Kyiv (4-2) is placed first in group I. The Top 16 already ended in the Eurocup. Anisimovas is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his fourth year in Budivelnyk's roster. Anisimovas is the league's best blocker with 1.4bpg. This year he also averages: 9.8ppg, 4.7rpg and 1.2apg in the 11 games. Anisimovas has a dual citizenship: Lithuanian and Ukrainian. He used to play for the Lithuanian university national team six years ago.

Center Antanas Kavaliauskas (207-84, also represented by Interperformances, college: Texas A&M, currently plays in Eurocup), who plays in Latvia was not able to secure a victory for VEF Riga (3-3) in their last game on Tuesday. Despite Kavaliauskas' good performance VEF Riga (#3) was defeated 76-65 in Bilbao by the leading Gescrap BB in the group J of Eurocup. He was the top scorer with 12 points. Kavaliauskas also added 8 rebounds and made 2 blocks. The Top 16 already ended in the Eurocup. Kavaliauskas' overall stats this season are: 9.8ppg and 4.6rpg. He is an international player who is currently on the senior Lithuanian National Team roster.

International center Jonas Valanciunas (211-92, currently plays in NBA) contributed to a Toronto Raptors' victory against the Washington Wizards (15-37) 96-88 in the NBA in Tuesday night's game. This year Pocius' overall stats are: 5.9ppg and 1.9rpg in the 14 games. He plays currently for the Lithuanian national team.

Power forward Valdas Dabkus (204-84, currently plays in Poland) helped Energa Czarni win their game against one of league's weakest teams Start Gdynia (5-15) crushing them 97-64 in the Polish TBL on Saturday night. He recorded a double-double by scoring 11 points and getting 12 rebounds. Dabkus also added 2 blocks. Energa Czarni Slupsk (11-9) is placed sixth in the TBL. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. Dabkus' total stats this season are: 9.1ppg and 7.0rpg. He is a former U21 international player as ten years ago he still played for the Lithuanian national team.

   #11. Former international forward Dainius Salenga (197-77, currently plays in Ukraine) is a teammate of previously mentioned Michailis Anisimovas. But that was another game of his team in Ukrainian Superleague which we would like to mention. Salenga helped Budivelnyk win their game against the closely-ranked Ferro-ZNTU 75-68. He scored 10 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Salenga's total stats this season are: 7.9ppg, 2.8rpg and 2.0apg. He used to play for the Lithuanian national team eight years ago.

   #12. Former U20 international forward Donatas Zavackas (203-80, college: Pittsburgh, currently plays in Eurocup) is a teammate of previously mentioned Antanas Kavaliauskas and both played together in the last Eurocup game. Zavackas couldn't help VEF Riga in their game against Gescrap BB. He scored 6 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. His team was defeated 76-65. Zavackas' total stats this season are: 7.7ppg, 3.9rpg and 1.1apg. He used to play for the Lithuanian U20 national team back in 2000.

   #13. Former University international guard Vaidotas Peciukas (199-82, college: Hawaii, currently plays in Romania), who plays in the Romanian Liga Nationala couldn't help Targu Mures (15-7) in their last game on Sunday. Despite his very good performance Targu Mures was defeated 88-82 on the opponent's court by the lower-ranked Craiova (#10). Peciukas was the second best scorer with 18 points. He also added 6 rebounds. Peciukas averaged so far 12.9ppg, 2.9rpg and 2.1apg. He used to play for the Lithuanian university national team eight years ago.

   #14. Former international guard Martynas Gecevicius (193-88, currently plays in Greece) helped Olympiacos win their game against one of league's weakest teams KAOD 91-81 in the Greek A1 in Monday night's game. Gecevicius scored only 3 points in 13 minutes. This year Gecevicius' total stats are: 7.8ppg, 1.6rpg and 1.2apg in the 14 games. He used to play for the Lithuanian national team back in 2011.

   #15. International small forward Simas Jasaitis (202-82, currently plays in Eurocup) is a teammate of previously mentioned Mantas Kalnietis. He played also in the last Eurocup game facing Mantas Cesnauskis (above) in the other team. Jasaitis couldn't help Lokomotiv in their game against Stelmet ZG. He scored 6 points. His team was defeated 94-88. Jasaitis averaged so far 11.7ppg, 4.7rpg and 1.7apg. He is also in the roster of the Lithuanian national team.


The list of other players, who all have Lithuanian passport but never been selected to any of Lithuanian national teams:

   #1. Benas Veikalas (192-G-83, college: Metro St., currently plays in Germany) was the major contributor in a Telekom Baskets' victory against the 16th-ranked EnBW Ludwigsburg (8-15) 75-68 in the German BBL last Saturday. Veikalas scored 17 points. Telekom Baskets Bonn (12-10) is placed seventh in the BBL. It was his team's fifth consecutive victory in a row. Veikalas averaged so far 11.5ppg, 2.7rpg and 1.1apg.

   #2. Experienced Christopher Young (206-F/C-79, college: Michigan, currently plays in EuroChallenge) led his Belgian team Okapi Aalstar to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Tsmoki-Minsk (1-4) crushing them 100-76 in the EuroChallenge last Tuesday. Young scored 13 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in a mere 16 minutes. Generali Okapi Aalstar (2-3) is placed third in group L. His team will play only one more game in the EuroChallenge Top 16. And that game will be critical. This year Young's total stats are: 9.4ppg and 7.3rpg in the 10 games he played so far. He is a naturalized American. Strangely Young has never played in Lithuania.

   #3. Nik Stauskas (198-G-93, currently plays college basketball in the States) led Michigan to a victory against the The Pennsylvania State University (0-14) 79-71 in the NCAA in Sunday night's game. Stauskas scored 18 points and added 4 assists (went 6 for 6 at the free throw line) in 34 minutes. The University of Michigan has a solid 9-4 conference record this season. This year Stauskas' total stats are: 9.1ppg and 7.0rpg in the 20 games. He has a dual citizenship: Canadian and Lithuanian. Despite Stauskas' Lithuanian passport, he previously played for the Canadian U19 national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Lithuanian team.

   #4. Zygimantas Jonusas (200-F-82, currently plays in Italy), who plays in the Italian SerieA could not help Juvecaserta (8-11) in their last game. Despite Jonusas' very good performance Juvecaserta was crushed 97-76 on the road by the lower-ranked (#13) Sutor Montegranaro. He was the second best scorer with 17 points in a mere 18 minutes. This year Jonusas' total stats are: 9.7ppg, 4.3rpg, 1.1apg and 1.3spg in the 18 games.

   #5. Gintaras Leonavicius (194-G-83, agency: Players Group, currently plays in Spain) led Leche Rio Breogan to a victory over the tenth-ranked Lleida Basquet (7-11) 83-68 in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division) last Saturday. Leonavicius was MVP of the game. He scored 24 points in 28 minutes. Leche Rio Breogan Lugo (10-8) is placed fifth in the LEB Gold. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. This year Leonavicius' total stats are: 9.6ppg, 2.7rpg, 2.0apg and 1.2spg in the 18 games.

   #6. Gabas Maldunas (203-F-93, currently studies in the States), who plays in the NCAA was not able to help the Dartmouth (1-4) in their last game. Despite Maldunas' very good performance the Dartmouth lost 57-67 at home to the University of Pennsylvania. He had a double-double by scoring 19 points and getting 10 rebounds. Maldunas also added 3 blocks in 31 minutes. Maldunas' stats this year are: 11.7ppg, 4.7rpg and 1.7apg in the 12 games.

   #7. Deividas Busma (212-C-87, agency: Two Points, college: Idaho St., currently plays in Spain) was the main contributor in a CB Clavijo's victory against the closely-ranked Planasa NV 95-89 in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division) last Friday. He was MVP of the game. Busma scored 19 points and grabbed 9 rebounds in 20 minutes. Busma has averaged so far 9.4ppg and 4.7rpg in the 11 games.

   #8. Arturas Masiulis (210-C-80, currently plays in United Kingdom) contributed to a Worcester Wolves' victory against the closely-ranked London Lions 98-91 in the British BBL on Saturday night. He scored 11 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Masiulis is currently fifth on the league's list of best blockers. He has very reliable stats this season: 12.3ppg, 7.0rpg and 1.2apg.

   #9. Evaldas Juozapaitis (189-G-84, currently plays in Sweden), who plays in the Swedish Basketettan (second division) was not able to secure a victory for Hoganas (7-10) in their last game. Despite Juozapaitis' very good performance Hoganas (#9) lost 75-86 on their home court in Hoganas to the second-ranked Brahe Basket in the South group. He was the top scorer with 30 points. Juozapaitis also added 6 rebounds in 32 minutes. His stats this year are: 15.0ppg, 3.4rpg, 2.9apg and 1.5spg in the 16 games.

   #10. Vytautas Kamarunas (179-PG-89, currently plays in Belarus) helped Tsmoki-Minsk II win their game against the closely-ranked Impuls BGUIR 71-62 in a derby game in the Belarusian Premier League in Friday night's game. Kamarunas scored 11 points, had 7 boards, dished 4 assists and stole 4 balls in 32 minutes. His stats this year are: 13.9ppg, 3.9rpg, 5.6apg and 2.9spg in the seven games.

Linas Kleiza (203-SF-85, college: Missouri) is confirmed for Lithuanian National Team. The NBA Star will play for the team at EuroBasket 2013. Linas Kleiza is a well-known player not only in Europe, but also in the US. He played for Portland Trail Blazers and Denver Nuggets and then head back to Europe for one season.
