We bring you last week's top performances from Lithuanians who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

   #1. This week's number one is an international point guard Mantas Kalnietis (195-86, agency: Players Group, currently plays in Euroleague). He could not help Armani Milano (7-15) in their last game on Thursday. Despite Kalnietis' very good performance the 15th-placed Armani Milano (7-15) was defeated 90-86 on the road by the much higher-ranked Anadolu Efes (#8) in the group A of Euroleague. He was the second best scorer with 15 points. Kalnietis also added 4 rebounds. It's Kalnietis' first season with the team. This year he averages: 7.4ppg, 2.2rpg, 2.9apg, 3FGP: 39.3% and FT: 65.5%. Ex-B.C. Zalgiris Kaunas player is currently a member of the Lithuanian senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to former international swingman Gediminas Orelik (199-90, currently plays in Turkey). Orelik was the major contributor in Banvit's victory against the closely-ranked Darussafaka (11-6) 76-70 in the Turkish BSL on Sunday night. He scored 12 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 28 minutes. Banvit Basketbol Kulubu (12-5) is placed fourth in the BSL. Orelik has relatively good stats this year: 13.9ppg, 5.8rpg, 1.7apg, 2FGP: 56.0%(28-50), 3FGP: 40.3% and FT: 78.7% in 17 games he played so far. He played for the Lithuanian national team in 2015.

   #3. The Lithuanian player who performed third best last week abroad was an international forward Marius Grigonis (198-94, currently plays in Spain). Grigonis led CB Canarias to a victory against one of league's weakest teams Joventut (5-14) 89-75 in the Spanish Liga Endesa in Sunday night's game. He scored 12 points. Iberostar Tenerife CB Canarias (15-4) is placed second in the Liga Endesa. It was his team's sixth consecutive victory in a row. Grigonis' overall stats this season are: 8.1ppg, 1.6rpg, 2.4apg, 2FGP: 41.7%, 3FGP: 42.6% and FT: 79.3%. He is also a member of the Lithuanian senior national team.

   #4. Center Jonas Valanciunas (213-92, currently plays in NBA) contributed to a Toronto Raptors' victory against the Los Angeles Clippers (32-21) 118-109 in the NBA last Monday. Valanciunas had a double-double by scoring 21 points and getting 12 rebounds in 32 minutes. The Toronto Raptors have 32-22 record this season. Valanciunas is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his fifth year in Raptors' roster. He has individually a very good season with high stats. Valanciunas averages: 12.3ppg and 9.9rpg in 52 games. He is also Lithuanian national team player.

International swingman Jonas Maciulis (198-85, currently plays in Euroleague) helped his Spanish team Real Madrid win their game against the 14th-ranked Unics Kazan (7-15) 81-77 in the Euroleague on Thursday night. Maciulis recorded 8 points. Real Madrid (17-5) is placed first in group A. It was his team's eighth consecutive victory in a row. Maciulis' overall stats this season are: 6.7ppg and 2.5rpg. He plays currently for the Lithuanian national team.

He is an international player who is currently on the senior Lithuanian National Team roster.

U20 international center Martynas Sajus (208-96, currently plays in Poland) led Polpharma to a victory over one of league's weakest teams TBV Start (4-14) 85-70 in the Polish PLK on Thursday night. Sajus was the best player in that game. He had a double-double by scoring 20 points and getting 10 rebounds. Sajus also added 3 blocks in 29 minutes. Polpharma Starogard Gdanski (9-9) is placed 11th in the PLK. This year Sajus' overall stats are: 9.9ppg, 6.3rpg and 1.1bpg in 17 games. He is also Lithuanian U20 national team player.

   #8. Forward Edgaras Zelionis (207-89, currently plays in Latvia) helped Ventspils win their game against the closely-ranked Jekabpils (11-9) 70-61 in the Latvian LBL last Saturday. Zelionis scored 9 points, had 7 rebounds and made 2 blocks in 20 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. BK Ventspils (17-2) is placed first in the LBL. Zelionis has reliable stats this year: 11.6ppg, 5.3rpg and 1.6apg in 14 games. He used to play for the Lithuanian U20 national team back in 2009.

Lydeka recorded 9 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 16 minutes. Banco di Sardegna Sassari (7-7) is placed fifth in group E. This year Lydeka's total stats are: 6.8ppg and 4.3rpg in 15 games. He is a former international player as eleven years ago he still played for the Lithuanian senior national team.

   #11. Former U20 international guard Dovydas Redikas (192-92, currently plays in Greece) helped Arkadikos win their game against one of league's weakest teams Irakleio 80-69 in the Greek A2 (second division) last Saturday. Redikas was the top player that evening. He recorded 22 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and made 2 blocks. This season Redikas has very high stats. He averages: 15.7ppg, 4.5rpg and 4.6apg. Redikas used to play for the Lithuanian U20 national team five years ago.

   #12. Former University international forward Eimantas Bendzius (204-90, currently plays in Spain) helped Blusens Monbus win their game against the league outsider La ICL Manresa 89-75 in the Spanish Liga Endesa on Saturday night. He scored 15 points and grabbed 9 rebounds in 21 minutes. Bendzius has averaged so far 8.7ppg and 3.9rpg in 19 games. He used to play for the Lithuanian university national team back in 2013.

   #13. Former international point guard Sarunas Vasiliauskas (188-89, also represented by Players Group, currently plays in Turkey) was not able to help Usak Sportlif (5-12) in their last game. Despite Vasiliauskas' good performance Usak Sportlif was badly defeated 84-66 in Istanbul by the much higher-ranked (#5) Besiktas. He was the second best scorer with 13 points. Vasiliauskas also added 4 assists in 28 minutes. Vasiliauskas' stats this year are: 11.6ppg, 2.3rpg and 4.6apg in seven games. He used to play for the Lithuanian national team three years ago.

   #14. Former international shooting guard Rimantas Kaukenas (192-77, college: Seton Hall, currently plays in Italy) helped Grissin Bon RE win their game against the 12th-ranked Enel Brindisi 98-84 in the Italian Serie A on Monday night. Kaukenas scored 12 points. Kaukenas has averaged so far 8.7ppg and 2.0apg. He used to play for the Lithuanian national team back in 2012.

   #15. Former U20 international guard Mantas Cesnauskis (189-81, currently plays in Poland) helped Energa Czarni win their game against the 13th-ranked Asseco 79-65 in the Polish PLK in Monday night's game. Cesnauskis scored 11 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 34 minutes. Cesnauskis has averaged so far 8.9ppg, 2.8rpg and 1.3apg in 18 games. He used to play for the Lithuanian U20 national team seventeen years ago.


The list of other players, who all have Lithuanian passport but never been selected to any of Lithuanian national teams:

   #1. John Shurna (204-F-90, college: Northwestern, currently plays in Croatia) was the major contributor in Cedevita's victory against the seventh-ranked KK Vrijednosnice Osijek (9-7) crushing them 98-70 in the Croatian A1 in Monday night's game. He recorded 20 points in a mere 18 minutes. KK Cedevita Zagreb (12-4) is placed third in the A1. It's Shurna's first season with the team. Shurna has relatively good stats this year: 15.0ppg, 2.0rpg, 1.7apg and 1.7spg in three games he played so far. He is a naturalized American. Despite Shurna's Lithuanian passport, he previously played for the USA U19 national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Lithuanian team. Strangely Shurna has never played in Lithuania.

   #2. Nik Stauskas (198-SG-93, college: Michigan, currently plays in NBA) could not help the Philadelphia 76ers (17-35) in their last game on Wednesday. Despite Stauskas' very good performance the Philadelphia 76ers (17-35) were defeated 111-103 on the road by the San Antonio Spurs. He scored 16 points, had 7 rebounds and dished 7 assists. Stauskas has reliable stats this season: 8.8ppg, 2.6rpg and 2.2apg. He has a dual citizenship: Canadian and Lithuanian.

   #3. Dominykas Milka (203-C-92, college: St.Rose, NY, currently plays in Baltic League) led his Estonian team TU/Rock to an easy victory against the seventh-ranked Barsy Atyrau (2-10) crushing them 74-45 in the Baltic League in Tuesday night's game. Milka recorded a double-double by scoring 15 points and getting 13 rebounds; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his third season in pro basketball. Tartu Ulikool/Rockis placed first in the Baltic League. Milka has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages: 15.5ppg, 10.0rpg and 1.5apg.

   #4. Vytautas Kamarunas (178-PG-89, currently plays in Belarus) led COR-Borisfen to a victory against the closely-ranked Vitebsk (12-10) 87-83 in the Belarusian Premier League in Saturday night's game. Kamarunas scored 17 points. COR-Borisfen Mogilev (19-1) is placed second in the Premier League. It was his team's fifth consecutive victory in a row. This season Kamarunas has very high stats. He averages: 15.4ppg, 2.7rpg, 5.3apg and 1.9spg.

   #5. Marius Runkauskas (189-G-86, agency: Octagon Europe, currently plays in Romania) led Steaua CSM to an overtime victory over the seventh-ranked Targu Mures (9-9) 93-87 in the Romanian Liga Nationala in Saturday night's game. Runkauskas was the top player that evening. He scored 31 points (!!!) and added 3 passes (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) in 39 minutes. Steaua CSM EximBank Bucuresti (13-5) is placed second in the Liga Nationala. Runkauskas' team will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And that game will be critical. Runkauskas has very impressive stats this year: 15.8ppg, 2.3rpg and 3.2apg in 16 games.

   #6. Andrius Mikutis (194-G/F-88, college: John Brown, currently plays in Germany) was not able to help SG Schwelmer Baskets (15-4) in their last game. Despite his very good performance SG Schwelmer Baskets (#2) lost 86-96 on the opponent's court to the much lower-ranked (#10) Ibbenbueren in the West group. Mikutis was the top scorer with 26 points. He also added 8 rebounds in 37 minutes. Mikutis has very impressive stats this year: 18.4ppg, 7.6rpg and 1.9apg in 18 games.

   #7. Experienced Benas Veikalas (192-G-83, college: Metro St., currently plays in Germany) was not able to secure a victory for BG Goettingen in their game against Giessen 46ers in the German BBL. He scored 8 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 25 minutes. His team lost 72-79. Veikalas averaged so far 10.7ppg, 3.4rpg and 2.4apg in 18 games.

   #8. Paulius Satkus (203-F-94, currently plays college basketball in the States), who plays in the NCAA couldn't help the JMU (4-2) in their last game. Despite his very good performance the JMU lost 61-67 at home to the Elon University. Satkus recorded 16 points (made all of his six free throws) in 30 minutes. Satkus has averaged so far 8.9ppg, 3.5rpg and 1.1apg in 23 games.

   #9. Martynas Kuksta (203-C-89, currently plays in Sweden) couldn't help Hoganas (2-9) in their last game on Wednesday. Despite his very good performance Hoganas (#8) was defeated 98-91 in Lund by the leading IK Eos in the BEHS forts group. Kuksta recorded a double-double by scoring 29 points and getting 13 rebounds. This season Kuksta has very high stats. He averages: 16.9ppg, 7.8rpg, 1.4apg and 1.9bpg.

   #10. Gabas Maldunas (206-F-93, college: Dartmouth, currently plays in Spain) couldn't help Palencia Baloncesto (15-7) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Maldunas' good performance Palencia Baloncesto was defeated 93-89 on the opponent's court by the much lower-ranked Oviedo_CB (#11). He recorded 10 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Maldunas has averaged so far 5.2ppg and 4.0rpg.

B.C. Zalgiris Kaunas (LKL) inked 26-year old American center Brandon Davies (208-109kg-91, college: BYU, agency: BeoBasket). He played most recently at AS Monaco Basket in French ProA. In 30 games he recorded 10.4ppg, 5.1rpg and 1.7apg last season. Davies helped them to win the cup. The previous (15-16) season he played at Openjobmetis VA in Italian Serie A where in 30 games he averaged 13.3ppg, 6.5rpg and 1.5apg.
