We bring you last week's top performances from Lithuanians who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

   #1. This week's number one is former international point guard Sarunas Vasiliauskas (188-89, agency: Players Group, currently plays in FIBA Europe Cup). He was the major contributor in a Usak Sportlif's victory against the seventh-ranked Oradea crushing them 108-82 in the FIBA Europe Cup in Wednesday night's game. Vasiliauskas scored 28 points (!!!) and added 5 passes in 34 minutes on the court. Muratbey Usak Sportlif Basketbolis placed third in group Q. It's Vasiliauskas' first season with the team. He has individually a very good year with high stats. Vasiliauskas averages: 18.0ppg, 2.0rpg, 4.5apg, 2FGP: 75.0%, 3FGP: 55.6% in two games he played so far. Former Pieno Zvaigzdes Pasvalys starter played for the Lithuanian senior national team three years ago.

   #2. Second place goes to an international point guard Mantas Kalnietis (195-86, also represented by Players Group, currently plays in Euroleague). He could not help Armani Milano (7-16) in their last game on Thursday. Despite Kalnietis' good performance the 16th-placed Armani Milano (7-16) was defeated 83-78 on the road by the higher-ranked FC Barcelona (#11) in the group A of Euroleague. He scored 10 points and added 6 assists. Kalnietis' overall stats this season are: 7.5ppg, 2.2rpg, 3.0apg, 3FGP: 38.8% and FT: 65.5%. Ex-B.C. Zalgiris Kaunas player is in the roster of the Lithuanian senior national team.

   #3. The Lithuanian player who performed third best last week abroad was former U20 international forward Edgaras Zelionis (207-89, currently plays in Latvia). He led Ventspils to an easy victory against the seventh-ranked Latvijas Universitate (2-6) crushing them 96-60 in the Latvian LBL last Saturday. Zelionis had a double-double by scoring 12 points and getting 10 rebounds in 22 minutes. BK Ventspils (19-2) is placed first in the LBL. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. Zelionis has relatively good stats this year: 11.5ppg, 5.6rpg, 1.6apg, 2FGP: 57.1%(52-91), 3FGP: 34.6% and FT: 81.5% in 16 games. He played for the Lithuanian U20 national team eight years ago.

   #4. Center Martynas Sajus (208-96, currently plays in Poland) led Polpharma to an easy victory against the league outsider Stabill (3-18) 77-62 in the Polish PLK in Monday night's game. Sajus scored 20 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in 21 minutes. Polpharma Starogard Gdanski (11-10) is placed 12th in the PLK. This year Sajus has relatively solid stats: 10.4ppg and 6.2rpg in 19 games. He is also Lithuanian U20 national team player.

An experienced former University international center Michailis Anisimovas (214-84, currently plays in Ukraine) led Budivelnyk to a 2-point victory against the closely-ranked Khimik (19-4) 76-74 in the Ukrainian Superleague last Thursday. Anisimovas scored 12 points, grabbed 4 rebounds and dished 4 assists. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Budivelnyk Kyiv (22-2) is placed first in the Superleague. It was his team's 14th consecutive victory in a row. There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Anisimovas has reliable stats this season: 11.3ppg, 5.7rpg and 2.0apg. He has a dual citizenship: Lithuanian and Ukrainian. Anisimovas used to play for the Lithuanian university national team ten years ago.

   #6. Forward Denis Krestinin (202-94, agency: BeoBasket, currently plays in Baltic League) was not able to help Barons Riga (10-2) in their last game on Wednesday. Despite his good performance Barons Riga was edged 82-80 at home by the lower-ranked Jurmala (#4) in the group A of Baltic League. Krestinin scored 12 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. Krestinin averaged so far 12.7ppg, 10.2rpg, 1.5apg and 1.3spg. He is a former U20 international player as he played for the Lithuanian team three years ago.

Former University international forward Arnas Labuckas (205-87, agency: Octagon Europe, currently plays in VTB United League) was not able to secure a victory for VEF Riga (7-8) in their game against BC Nizhny Novgorod (6-12) in the VTB United League. Labuckas recorded 8 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 30 minutes. VEF Riga lost 73-78 on their home court in Riga to the lower-ranked (#9) BC Nizhny Novgorod. It was VEF Riga's third consecutive loss in a row. This year Labuckas' overall stats are: 5.8ppg, 3.6rpg and 1.2apg in 13 games. He used to play for the Lithuanian university national team eight years ago.

Lydeka scored 5 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Banco di Srd (#5) was crushed 84-63 in Nymburk by the higher-ranked CEZ Nymburk (#3) in the group E of Basketball Champions League. Lydeka's total stats this season are: 6.7ppg and 4.4rpg. He used to play for the Lithuanian national team back in 2006.

Former U20 international guard Dovydas Redikas (192-92, currently plays in Greece) led Arkadikos to an easy victory against the closely-ranked AE Larissas (9-9) crushing them 86-59 in the Greek A2 (second division) in Saturday night's game. Redikas scored 19 points in 27 minutes. SEFA Arkadikos (7-11) is placed tenth in the A2. Redikas has very impressive stats this year: 16.5ppg, 4.5rpg, 4.3apg and 1.2spg in 15 games. He used to play for the Lithuanian U20 national team five years ago.

Forward Arvydas Gydra (206-89, agency: Interperformances, currently plays in Portugal) led CAB Madeira to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Lusitania (5-16) 96-79 in the Portuguese LPB last Sunday. Gydra scored 16 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. CAB Madeira (10-6) is placed sixth in the LPB. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. They will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And now that game is very crucial. Gydra averaged so far 12.8ppg and 4.7rpg. He is a former U20 international player as eight years ago he still played for the Lithuanian national team.

   #11. Former U20 international swingman Edvinas Seskus (196-95, another player represented by Players Group, currently plays in Baltic League) couldn't help Parnu in their game against Vytautas in the Baltic League, despite his good performance on Tuesday night. Seskus scored 11 points, grabbed 7 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 32 minutes. But his team was crushed by 35 points 89-54. Seskus' stats this year are: 13.4ppg, 2.8rpg and 2.6apg in 14 games. He used to play for the Lithuanian U20 national team two years ago.

   #12. Former U20 international shooting guard Martynas Paliukenas (191-93, currently plays in Poland) is a teammate of previously mentioned Martynas Sajus and both played together in the last Polish PLK game. Paliukenas contributed to an easy victory against the league outsider Stabill 77-62. He scored 6 points and had 3 steals. Paliukenas' total stats this season are: 5.5ppg, 1.8rpg, 1.8apg and 1.5spg. He used to play for the Lithuanian U20 national team back in 2013.

   #13. Former U20 international power forward Giedrius Staniulis (205-91, currently plays in France) couldn't help Souffelweyersheim in their game against Orchesien BC in the French NM1 (third division). Staniulis was the second best scorer with 9 points. He also added 7 rebounds and made 2 blocks in 27 minutes. His team lost 69-74. Staniulis averaged so far 12.6ppg, 8.9rpg, 2.0apg and 1.1spg in 22 games. He used to play for the Lithuanian U20 national team six years ago.

   #14. Former U20 international small forward Paulius Sorokas (202-92, another player represented by Players Group, currently plays in Italy) couldn't help Treviglio in their game against Angelico Biella in the Italian Serie A2 (second division). Despite his very good performance on Sunday night Sorokas was the second best scorer with 22 points. He also added 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Sorokas averaged so far 14.5ppg, 8.9rpg and 3.1apg. He used to play for the Lithuanian U20 national team back in 2012.

   #15. Former U20 international center Tautvydas Slezas (207-90, another player represented by Interperformances, currently plays in Spain) contributed to Gipuzkoa's victory against the 13th-ranked Caceres Basket 81-70 in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division) in Friday night's game. Slezas scored 6 points, had 6 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 24 minutes. This year Slezas' total stats are: 7.4ppg, 7.0rpg and 1.6apg in 23 games. He used to play for the Lithuanian U20 national team seven years ago.


The list of other players, who all have Lithuanian passport but never been selected to any of Lithuanian national teams:

   #1. Dominykas Milka (203-C-92, college: St.Rose, NY, currently plays in Estonia) led Tartu Ulikool to a victory over the sixth-ranked TLU/Kalev (6-12) crushing them 110-63 in the Estonian Alexela KML on Saturday night. He was MVP of the game. Milka had a double-double by scoring 22 points and getting 10 rebounds. He also added 3 assists in 31 minutes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only Milka's third season in pro basketball. Tartu Ulikool (16-2) is placed first in the Alexela KML. It was his team's seventh consecutive victory in a row. Milka has relatively good stats this year: 13.0ppg, 8.3rpg and 1.4apg in 18 games he played so far.

   #2. John Shurna (204-F-90, college: Northwestern, currently plays in ABA League) was the major contributor in Cedevita's victory against the closely-ranked Cibona (11-12) 89-85 in a derby game in the ABA League in Monday night's game. He scored 13 points and grabbed 4 rebounds (was perfect 5-for-5 from the free throw line). KK Cedevita Zagreb (17-6) is placed second in the ABA League. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. There are only three games left until the end of the ABA League Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Shurna's overall stats this season are: 8.0ppg and 2.1rpg. He is a naturalized American. Despite Shurna's Lithuanian passport, he previously played for the USA U19 national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Lithuanian team. Strangely Shurna has never played in Lithuania.

   #3. Vytautas Kamarunas (178-PG-89, currently plays in Belarus) was the main contributor in COR-Borisfen's victory against the eighth-ranked Brest (4-20) crushing them 110-64 in the Belarusian Premier League on Saturday night. Kamarunas was MVP of the game. He recorded 22 points, 5 rebounds, 8 assists and 3 steals. COR-Borisfen Mogilev (22-2) is placed second in the Premier League. Kamarunas has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages: 15.3ppg, 2.8rpg, 5.6apg and 1.9spg.

   #4. Experienced Benas Veikalas (192-G-83, college: Metro St., currently plays in Germany) could not help BG Goettingen (15-3) in their last game. Despite his very good performance BG Goettingen lost 92-102 on the road to the much lower-ranked (#9) Science City Jena. Veikalas scored 17 points and added 4 assists in 34 minutes. Veikalas' stats this year are: 11.1ppg, 3.2rpg and 2.4apg in 21 games.

   #5. Andrius Mikutis (194-G/F-88, college: John Brown, currently plays in Germany) contributed to a SG Schwelmer Baskets' victory against the second-ranked Hagen BG (16-5) 85-76 in the German Regionalliga (fourth division) last Friday. Mikutis had a double-double by scoring 17 points and getting 13 rebounds in 35 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 3 ranked teams in group West. EN Baskets Schwelm (17-4) is placed first. Mikutis has very impressive stats this year: 18.3ppg, 8.1rpg and 1.9apg in 20 games.

   #6. Paulius Satkus (203-F-94, currently plays college basketball in the States), who plays in the NCAA was not able to help the JMU (5-9) in their last game on Saturday. Despite his good performance the JMU was defeated 75-65 at home by the Towson University. Satkus recorded a double-double by scoring 13 points and getting 10 rebounds. He also added 3 assists. Satkus has averaged so far 9.4ppg, 4.0rpg and 1.1apg.

   #7. Mantas Griskenas (200-F-85, agency: Dynamics Global Management, college: Wichita St., currently plays in Sweden) was not able to secure a victory for Nassjo in their game against KFUM Jamtland in the Swedish Basketligan, despite his good performance on Thursday night. He scored 11 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in 24 minutes. But his team lost 78-93. Griskenas averaged so far 10.2ppg, 3.5rpg and 1.1apg in 25 games.

   #8. Raimundas Danys (198-F-85, agency: Octagon Europe, currently plays in Switzerland) couldn't help Neuchatel in their game against Fribourg in the Swiss LNA. Despite his good performance in Sunday night's game He scored 11 points, had 4 rebounds and made 2 blocks. Danys averaged so far 11.3ppg, 3.5rpg and 1.2apg.

   #9. Rokas Paulauskas (203-F, currently plays in NCAA2) helped Missouri S&T win their game against the Drury University 77-62 in the NCAA2 last Thursday. He recorded a double-double by scoring 10 points and getting 13 rebounds. Paulauskas has averaged so far 9.0ppg and 7.4rpg.

   #10. He recorded 10 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in 31 minutes. But his team was crushed by 26 points 99-73. Visockis has averaged so far 3.7ppg and 3.9rpg in 15 games.

The guests were already 16 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 26-18 Silute's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 83-75 at the end of the game. Nafta-Uni. made 19-of-22 charity shots (86.4 percent) during the game.
