22-year old center Aurelijus Pukelis (205-C-94) had a great game in the last round for Silute and receives a Eurobasket.com NKL Player of the Week award for round 14 (Second Stage). He had the game-high 20 points adding nine rebounds for Silute in his team's victory, helping them to crush Rasai (#4, 23-15) with 18-point margin 96-78. Silute maintains the 7th position in Lithuanian NKL. Silute is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. But it was their 19th lost game this season out of 38 games. It's Pukelis' second year at Silute and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Pukelis has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in rebounds (3rd best: 7.7rpg) and averages solid 1.2bpg and 68.6% FGP.
Second best performed player last round was Zilvinas Petraitis (194-G/F-88) of Delikatesas. He is a swingman in his 5th season at Delikatesas. In the last game Petraitis recorded impressive 36 points and 6 rebounds. Bad luck as Delikatesas was edged by slightly higher-ranked Palanga (#9, 19-19) 93-91. The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Delikatesas dropped in the standings to 11th position. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 15-23 record. Petraitis is one of the most experienced players at Delikatesas and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.
Third place about best performers goes to swingman Kostas Jonuska (195-G/F-92) of Mazeikiai (#10). Jonuska scored 22 points and grabbed five rebounds. He was a key player of Mazeikiai, leading his team to a 97-88 win against the lower-ranked Ezerunas-Karys (#13, 12-26). The chances of Mazeikiai not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 23 games, recording just fifteen victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Jonuska could try to bring Mazeikiai's a little bit higher in the standings. Jonuska has a very solid season. In 37 games in Lithuania he scored 11.5ppg. He also has 5.4rpg and 3.7apg.
Other top performing players last week: 4. Kinu Rochford (195-F-90) of Suduva-Mantinga - 19 points and 10 rebounds 5. Gytis Radzevicius (195-SF-95) of Vytis - 19 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists 6. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy. The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
