Eighth-ranked Dzukija (6-18) made lots of trouble for fourth ranked Juventus (14-10) in Alytus on Sunday. The visitors from Utena managed to secure only two-point victory 76-74. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests trailed by 13 points after three quarters before their 26-11 charge, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was power forward Vaidas Cepukaitis (207-89, agency: Interperformances) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Vytautas Sulskis (200-88, college: Youngstown St., agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 15 points and 8 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Spanish guard Alejandro Hernandez (189-90) who recorded 13 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Juventus have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 14-10 record. Dzukija lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with 18 games lost. Juventus are looking forward to face higher ranked Lietuvos rytas (#3) in Vilnius in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Dzukija will play at home against the league's second-placed Lietkabelis (#2) and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Panevezys. Second ranked Lietkabelis faced one of their biggest challengers Lietuvos rytas. Host Lietkabelis (18-6) defeated guests from Vilnius (16-8) 86-77. It was a good game for Australian swingman Ben Madgen (193-85, college: Augusta) who led his team to a victory with 20 points. Mindaugas Lukauskis contributed with 11 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. American guard Jimmy Baron (191-86, college: Rhode Island) replied with 19 points and 4 assists for Lietuvos rytas. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Lietkabelis maintains second position with 18-6 record having four points less than leader Zalgiris. Lietuvos rytas at the other side keeps the third place with eight games lost. Lietkabelis will play against Dzukija (#8) in Alytus in the next round where they are favorite. Lietuvos rytas will play on the road against Juventus (#4) in Utena and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last two games of round 24 P.Zvaigzdes was defeated by Neptunas in Klaipeda 59-54. Nevezis was beaten by Vytautas at home 87-96.
The best stats of 24th round was 16 points by Renaldas Seibutis of Zalgiris.

Zalgiris - Siauliai 101-50

Leader Zalgiris delivered the twenty second victory on Monday night. This time they crushed 10th ranked Siauliai (3-21) 101-50 in Kaunas. The game without a history. Zalgiris led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Siauliai's 24. Zalgiris looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Worth to mention a quality performance of German power forward Isaiah Hartenstein (211-98) who helped to win the game recording 13 points and 7 rebounds and Paulius Valinskas (190-95) who added 9 points and 7 assists during the contest. Four Zalgiris players scored in double figures. Zalgiris' coach Sarunas Jasikevicius felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was Ukrainian center Vladislav Korenyuk (210-94, agency: Octagon Europe) with 17 points and swingman Lukas Aukstikalnis (196-95, agency: Duran International) scored 8 points and 7 rebounds. Zalgiris have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 22-2 record. Siauliai lost third consecutive game. They stay dead last with 21 lost games. The game between closely ranked teams ended with 7th ranked P.Zvaigzdes' (10-14) road loss to sixth ranked Neptunas (13-11) 54-59 on Sunday. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 16-7. But P.Zvaigzdes won third quarter 22-8. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Neptunas won last quarter 14-11. They dominated on the defensive end, holding P.Zvaigzdes to just 7 points in first quarter. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Jerai Grant (203-89, college: Clemson) who helped to win the game recording 11 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import Daniel Ewing (191-83, college: Duke, agency: Stealth Sport) who added 12 points and 5 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was Osvaldas Olisevicius (200-93) with 17 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international swingman Steponas Babrauskas (197-84) scored 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Neptunas moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Vytautas. Loser P.Zvaigzdes keeps the seventh position with 14 games lost. Neptunas will meet league's leader Zalgiris in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
