Perlas-MRU - KTU 69-66

Perlas-MRU held off KTU to advance into the quarterfinal stage. KTU was ahead by 11 points after three quarters before a 19-5 charge of Perlas-MRU, which allowed them to win the game. They dominated on the defensive end, holding KTU to just 5 points in fourth quarter. KTU was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for forward Arnas Berucka (195-97) who led the winners and scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Domantas Pipiras (203-91) accounted for 10 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side. Four Perlas-MRU players scored in double figures. Point guard Medas Kuprijanovas (195-96) came up with 19 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and Jaunius Davniukas (197-95) added 14 points and 5 rebounds respectively for KTU in the defeat.

Vytis topped Delikatesas and reached quarterfinals. The hosts trailed by 6 points at the halftime before their 25-14 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Vytis made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for guard Paulius Beliavicius (194-88) who led his team to a victory scoring 33 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Gytis Radzevicius (195-95) helped adding 20 points and 6 rebounds. Silute held off Mazeikiai to sweep the series. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Silute made 22-of-28 free shots (78.6 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was Simas Raupys (195-94) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds. American guard Brian Wanamaker (185-89, college: Texas Wesleyan) chipped in 16 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Wanamaker is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Silute's coach Robertas Kuncaitis used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Ernestas Bruzas (183-96) who recorded 17 points and 6 assists and forward Arunas Mikalauskas (199-97, agency: BeoBasket) added 14 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Four Silute and five Mazeikiai players scored in double figures.

Zalgiris II overcame Palanga to surge ahead 2-1 in the series. The game without a history. Zalgiris II led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Palanga's 30. Zalgiris II looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Palanga's players. The best player for the winners was power forward Laurynas Birutis (213-97) who had a double-double by scoring 26 points and 12 rebounds. Guard Kristupas Zemaitis (192-96) chipped in 18 points and 9 assists. Four Zalgiris II players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Raijon Kelly (190-93, college: Angelo St.) who recorded 16 points and forward Aurimas Urbonas (190-93) added 12 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Palanga's coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win.
